  1. I bought a collection of photos tonight at a local auction and this one was in it.
  2. I wonder what the story is on Uncle Scrooge #347... gotta be shenanigans right?
  3. Yeah a few weeks ago I saw him interviewed for a news story where he’s representing Mickey Dolenz… something about the FBI investigating the Monkees back in the day.
  4. Most likely an older sig, maybe from the ‘70s? The eBay seller didn’t notice/mention it so was a surprise when I found it.
  5. Crayon… craiyon… at this website you can see whatever you want to: C-3PO in an R2-D2 suit
  6. I quickly looked over this and the other thread to see if the location was answered, and I don’t think it has. I dug out my copy to see if it was mentioned on the “certificate” (nope- see pic)… but I seem to remember reading somewhere it was either Minneapolis or St. Paul, the Twin Cities of MN. I’ll see if I can’t get a message through to John to try to verify…
  7. I bought a cheapish copy from John a couple years ago off eBay. Beautiful copy of Our Love #1 if not for a staple pop on the cover.
  8. Very nice cover! Pic borrowed from a recently ended eBay auction…
  9. Yeah, my first thought is that maybe the back cover was removed from all of them which may have lead to nearly all of them being thrown away (or becoming coverless) after being read.
  10. Drumroll please… The back cover was torn off. Front cover detached at top staple, tear at bottom staple, cover still attached there. Nice OW page quality, no indication inside as to what it was promoting.
  11. Could also be on the Mile High website. Googling “Mile High Comics” brings up a link directly to that featured page.
  12. Most examples probably sold at Heritage (don’t know if directly from Chuck or someone he sold them to) then was resold on eBay, maybe some here & elsewhere. Googling “Edgar Church Advertising Art” shows a bunch of it, some really nice examples… sample:
  13. I just won this in a group lot on hibid. It intrigued me since I couldn’t find any info in Overstreet or with a quick online search. I suspect it’s a shoe store giveaway, so once it gets here I’ll have to check to see if there’s any indication of that. I’ll likely report back at that time…
  14. I don’t know the full story on it, but speculate that the color version was first, they went ballistic on how bad it turned out, and said “Spoon it! Just redo it in B&W!” Color versions seem to be less common, there’s one up on eBay right now… I’m not going to go after it since it wouldn’t be a major upgrade Correction: 2 on eBay, but one has a stock photo & very low grade.
  15. Was just looking to upgrade, then noticed the missing blues, so will add this copy to the collection.
  16. Maybe we’ll finally get a Gilligan’s Island comic book. I’ve been waiting a lifetime…
  17. https://www.cbr.com/gold-key-comics-new-ownership/ Sounds like production will be old school… & on newsprint paper?
  18. All joking aside, that’s a really cool mag & cover… never seen it before!
  19. Oct. ‘64 I have mine in a snap together frame that hangs above the staircase to my upstairs. Just took it out for the first time in over 10 years to get a good pic. It’s a beautiful Harvey File Copy. I like the way the confetti goes through the code.
  20. The staples look awfully rusty. I’d have her return it, then get a new wife and best friend.
  21. Is it? Didn’t know about that one, this is for sure (not my comic- I used to have a decent copy years ago found in the wild but sold it)…
