Anyone know what these spots are on the edge of the slab?  They can only seen head on, they don’t show up from side angles, about half of the 100 slabs I just got back have this going on.

The slabs were most likely sealed with too much pressure causing a tiny bit of the edge to chip/shatter.  A little more pressure would probably result in a crack at the seam where the top of the slab meets the bottom.  The typical places that I’ve seen this occur are the bottom corners or middle of the right side.

Our family had this on VHS and I must have watched it about 8,000 times. It was so different and almost bizarre, compared to the Rankin/Bass Hobbit. It was so frustrating that the story was not continued.

They made a “Return of the King” cartoon in the same animation style as the Hobbit. It’s been years since I’ve seen it.

edit: It would’ve been better in the “Lord of the Rings” style of animation IMO.

    What is it?

    Looks like a small stain.

Edit:  lol thanks for posting that info on the book.  I checked for the graders notes and was shocked that there wasn't any.  I couldn't figure out why the book got such a low grade at first. I kept looking at all the edges and corners.  Then I thought maybe in was in the interior of the book.  I gave up.  Few weeks later, I decided to scan the book and then I saw it. I quickly went back through my pictures of the books I sent in and realized that it wasn't there before.
