  1. Thanks again to Jason for putting on a great show. Austin and I had a great time, sold tons of books off the wall and did some trades/buying as well. Most of the dealers I talked to said they had a good show. For $15 a GA ticket is well worth it to see the quality of books in the room, in my opinion. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to make a deal or just say hi. We will definitely be back next year!
  2. Last day of the sale is today! We have sold tons of great books, but there are still plenty to choose from. All orders are eligible for discounts until 11:59 PM tonight!
  3. Hey All, The title says it all! We hope you guys have a fantastic Thanksgiving, but hopefully you have some time to check out our only sale of the year over the weekend. Please click the link below and read the entire post in order to qualify for the sale. Please reach out with any questions. Black Friday Sale Information
  4. Austin and I will be there set up, come by and say hi! Dad is even making a special guest appearance for the weekend, looking forward to seeing everyone!
  5. We had a great show, the room was completely full from about 10:30am-6:00pm Thurs-Sat and absolutely packed from open to close on Sunday. Sales were strong, as prices continue to dip people seem more and more willing to shell out for a book that may have seemed unobtainable only 1-2 years ago. Bronze and Silver keys that had been almost impossible to sell over the last 6 months were flying off the wall. Buying was very strong, we picked up about 3 short boxes of new material, most of which got listed on this site yesterday and earlier this morning (New Arrivals). As Bob mentioned, load in was easy and load out was the fastest it's ever been. The comic area was absolutely smaller this year, but most of the dealers I talked to that were there seemed to have a solid show. We will certainly be back in 2024.
  6. Reece's Rare Comics will be set up at Booth #3627, stop by and say hi! Looking forward to a great show.
  7. Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts guys. Hopefully it turns up! Just giving this one bump to get some more eyeballs on it through the weekend.
  8. Hey all, I got permission to post this from Harshen. It pains me to write this, but we at Reece's Rare Comics had an Incredible Hulk #1 1.8 Verified Signed by Stan Lee (Graded by the company in Dallas) stolen at FanExpo Chicago at some point on Saturday afternoon. I don't know too much about the crime other than I believe it was a group effort (distract by asking about books at the front while someone takes a wall book), and they targeted us while one of our two guys working the booth was out getting lunch. A police report has been filed and insurance has been notified, but I wanted to put it out here to get the word out as much as possible. Please let your local stores know to be on the lookout for someone shopping this book around (very likely cracked out of the slab), especially if you are in the Rosemont/Chicago area. I will attach some pictures of the book below, please note the date in the "U" of Hulk on the front page, as well as the Stan Lee signature on the 1st page of the book. Also the spine is completely split. If anyone has any information please feel free to message me here or email at alex@reececomics.com. As a last aside, I know that it is currently listed on MySlabs, I have already reached out and been informed that it is an old listing from the previous owner that never took it down, I let them know they should take the listing down. Thanks for taking the time to read, and hope everyone has a good week. Best, Alex Reece's Rare Comics
  9. I met Jose around 15 years ago when I was first helping my Dad at shows during summers off from college, he was a regular feature at many shows back then. I know he hadn't been on the show floor as much recently due to health issues, but whenever I did see him I made sure to say hi, and he was as personable as ever. Such a friendly, nice, knowledgeable guy, he will be sorely missed! RIP Jose and condolences to friends, family, and the Superworld gang.
  10. Just wanted to say thanks to Jason for putting on another great event. The room was completely filled with comic dealers/artists and it was a blast seeing our dealer friends and customers. While I can't speak for other dealers, I can say that we had an incredibly busy day of buying/selling/trading with the people who stopped in at our booth, and I bought books from 5-6 different dealers. There was one dealer in particular with tons of low grade Timely/Golden Age DCs that he had out for very reasonable prices, we only stopped by his booth late in the day on Saturday and he still had tons of great material. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend putting it on your list if you are a comic book fan! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to buy books or say hi, see you all at the next one! Alex Reece's Rare Comics
  11. Also wanted to give my thanks to Nate and Heritage for hosting this event. In a world where attendance numbers are seen as king by most promoters, it was refreshing to attend an event that was hyper focused on quality books and treating the dealers/collectors to an amazing experience. Austin and I had a blast hanging with friends new and old, and will definitely come back if (when?) this event happens again. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to hang out or buy/sell a book! Alex
  12. Good Morning, It has been just over two weeks since the launch of the Key City Collection and what a memorable time it has been! Hundreds of books have already been bought, packed, and shipped to new homes across the country. I am happy to say that we began launching the second and final part of the Key City Collection today, March 10th at 9:00 a.m. EST. Similar to last time, we will begin with the end of the Avengers run starting with the annuals and work backwards until we get to the Amazing Fantasy's. There are just under 1,000 new books to be listed. Again, all new books can be located on www.reececomics.com on our New Arrivals page or under the Key City Collection tab. Thanks, and feel free to reach out with any and all questions! Best, Alex: 240-367-3662 / Alex@reececomics.com Austin: 240-405-2751 / Austin@reececomics.com Chase: Chase@reececomics.com Greg + Ginger
  13. Hello to all, I hope this message finds you well and the beginning of your year is off to a great start. It has been a while since our last newsletter update, and though we may have been a little quiet recently, we have been diligently working behind the scenes to bring to you an exciting new collection of more than 2,900 CGC graded books that will launch on Reece's Rare Comics. We began listing books from the Key City Collection this morning (Thursday, February 24th at 9:00 a.m. EST) and will continue to list several hundred books throughout the course of the day. Following this initial launch of nearly 2,000 books, we will finish processing the rest of the inventory over the next few weeks and send out a separate newsletter when those are ready. All of the books will be available under our New Arrivals page, and also under the "Key City Collection" pedigree tab on our main menu. While there are too many books to list here, I am excited to share a few highlights from our time working with the collection, so please check out the pictures at the bottom of the post. The building blocks of this collection began with a young man begging his parents to take him to the local one-day comic show, where the owner fondly remembers buying his first big book: An Incredible Hulk #181. Worried that his father might berate him for spending $10 on a single comic book, he also purchased a stack of cheap comics to convince his father that he hadn’t been swindled by the dealers in the room. This spurred the beginning of a lifelong love affair, which was expressed by amassing significant issues that he remembers growing up with, and by building runs of high-grade Marvel books. Unlike the many stories we usually hear, not one book was sold during childhood or lost during moves in his early adult years. Instead, every book was meticulously kept and preserved in a climate-controlled setting, untouched, until he was able to have them encapsulated by CGC when they came into existence in 2000. Always the collector, the owner continued buying books up until 2020, at which point he made the difficult decision to let them go and be enjoyed by other collectors, just as he had enjoyed them for many years. By the time he was finished, he had amassed one of the most incredible collections that we have ever seen. In the collection are several copies of: Amazing Fantasy #15, Amazing Spider-Man #1, Amazing Spider-Man #129, Avengers #1, Avengers #4, Daredevil #1, Fantastic Four #48, Giant-Size X-Men #1, Incredible Hulk #181, X-Men #1, and much more. Though not eligible for a pedigree due to the owner buying from a multitude of resellers over the years, a collection preserved over this many decades remains an incredible achievement and one that should be celebrated. We are incredibly thrilled to bring you this one of a kind collection, and hope you can spend some time today checking out these amazing books! To continue to stay updated on this collection, as well as any future news, please sign up for our newsletter (Newsletter) and follow us on Instagram (@Reecesrarecomics).
