  1. I just received my catalogue for the Heritage auction and saw the memorandum for Ed. I was shocked. I’ve dealt with Ed for 20 years at Heritage. What a nice guy and so friendly. RIP ED my condolences to your family and friends.
  2. Must have been the 20 I dropped when I was holding them so long ago!
  3. Don’t know what happened to it after I saw it other than it was sold to someone in Texas!
  4. I saw the Western Penn AF 15. Awesome book didn’t look at it close enough to grade but it sure was purdy!
  5. What does the grade matter? Isn’t it about the book not the number in the upper left! 😇
  6. Congratulations, that was my favorite in the 6th round. You were relentless!
  7. I had 2 books in the auction that did pretty well not like Tim. I also built a nice war chest to bid on some of the Promise books, but after looking at the hi res photos I couldn’t pull the trigger on the books. Dust shadows and miss-cuts just turned me off!
  8. You can always set it up to b a phone bidder and they will call you!
  9. I held both side by side. I owned the PC copy that was upgraded, there is a second. The Curator is a much better 9.8 copy, IMHO!
  10. Never really cared or collected these books but after looking through these PMH threads I’m having a change of heart! Thanks to all of the posters!
  11. Certainly was a thrill to watch that thread unfold. I know he is passionate about his books but I hope that he does entertain the thought of selling them someday in his lifetime. It would be terrible if something happened to those gems!
  12. Didn’t know I had these organizing my collection. Beat but complete.
  13. Here’s the ad we ran in CBG! Didn’t remember the Pep 22 but it’s in there. some info I found while reading through our correspondence. Collection was found in 1976! George the OO worked out of town for 6 months in 1961. The place he bought his books marked some with grease pencil like the SC 31. I guess he picked the ones that didn’t have it because none of the Flash’s did. It’s been fun looking through all of this stuff I had forgotten how much fun we had. Best
  14. Here u go DB! First picture is Mike after I kept bugging him about the DC’s. Found the cars. Enjoy!
  15. I have an ad somewhere that I ran in CBG for a lot of the WPA books. If I find it I will post it. If I remember correctly those runs you mentioned were sold to Keith. Most of the Marvel junk was sold to Sparkle City and then ultimately to Brulato. I’m going through my collection and finding things I had totally forgot about. Most aren’t that interesting to anyone but me although they do bring back great memories. I’ll look for the car pictures I probably have them. Best
  16. Something I remembered when I saw Eides obit. That was the store that George was selling his books when Mike approached him. Hence when I mentioned his name to Greg he wasn’t that enthralled! Best, Tom
  17. I just read that Greg Eides passed. I bought an All Star 55 & 56 from him on eBay. Very nice person until I mentioned Michael’s name! Hey Dan Cooper what do you know about the Western Penn Collection?
  18. Thanks to all for putting your books up In this thread. Great to see all the Western Penn goodness that you collectors have enjoyed! Best
  19. If they’re Western Penn and in original holders they have never been manipulated. Just as they were found in the basement of Western Pa.
  20. Great books Microchip but you have a ways to go to corner the market on Captain Marvel 1. I counted 9 in the catalog. As I said earlier in the thread, the OO bought between 10-20 copies of the later 60’s #1’s.
  21. I think the PL on the cover had some breast augmentation! Or the one in the splash had a reduction!
  22. BigJ: We don’t discriminate in this thread. It was listed by me in the Silver Age but that is because they are the books I was most familiar with. Bring them on! Wonderful way to honor a great pedigree. I don’t have any holier than thou issues! I think all collectors should b proud of their books and want to show them to others.
  23. I thought they were in the catalog. They were! We use to joke around that the Bronze Age books would never be worth anything. 😩
