  1. I see what you wrote. These are the highest valued and thus first appearances. These are not exceptions. These are current standards. As I said way back on the first page, why do people try to apply old standards to new scenarios? Can you please post these rules somewhere?
  2. Oh, and I think everyone on these boards and at every convention would agree on these first appearances (that have zero appearance in the actual pages between the book). After all, these are the most valuable, therefore the first appearance.
  3. I have already mentioned this one (yet it was ignored because the market has spoken). All-New Marvel Now! Point One 1st full appearance of the, new Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan).
  4. Oh, well, I will get started on putting a list together to meet your requirements. See you in 2025. I don't post on the other board. It's the most unorganized forum I've ever witnessed. I think a GeoCities board would be better.
  5. Nope, mixing things all around as usual. Does the character not appear in the preview, in a story? How do we know this from creators and publishers? They just want to sell comics. They don't care who says what is a first appearance.
  6. Nope, Scott Snyder said Metal #3 is the first Batman Who Laughs. Market is paying more for Teen Titans #12 and CGC has labeled it as such. Contrary to what the creator has said. But, but, right above here I have a quote saying the publisher intentions matter.....
  7. I think they question is more, have they been heating up or have they been selling at those prices for years? But, I will say it's nice to see some relevant information on something that sells for more than $10.
  8. Ahhhh, nope, wrong again. No, now you're saying an advertisement with an image is the same as a preview story. It seems like you're off on this argument so you are just throwing out different scenarios that are not related in any way.
  9. Supply / demand was meant to show a relationship (supply < demand, better?). There is no actual equation to determine value. It's a representation for why value is where it is.
  10. Yes, we know some trades have resale value. Typically they were only printed one time however. Or very few and the first print holds value. The first volume of Saga keeps getting reprinted. Did they start putting the printing edition in them yet? I know they haven't historically. Omnibus's can sell for a couple hundred, but they are usually $80-100 to start with.
  11. Like I said, I didn't signup for the waitlist and still received two emails about the 800s going on sale. I think everyone gets anything they send out.
  12. I did not signup for the waitlist for ASM #800 and yet I received two emails as to when they would be on sale. You are just subscribing to their email list.
  13. But, there is value. Those books have no value if it were not for the previews. They would be in dollar bins otherwise. Don't you, as a collector want the comic with the name and character right on the cover? Again Hulk 180 / 181. When did we switch to talking about what the market constitutes as first appearance as determined by value?
  14. Sorry, the Market uses CGC as the authority now. Much likes OPG was used in the past. CGC lables are very often flawed, changed, etc... but that's not what the masses see or know. Which First Aliens do you own? Oh, better get both! Where are your poll results of what the consensus thinks? I use sales. All of the books I mentioned so far have not problem selling. I guess the same 5 people are buying them all.
  15. Where have I heard this before? Hmmm, 2 pages ago? Now you're confusing "value" and "first appearance".
  16. Hmm, na. The market is different now than it was 10 years ago and every year before that. I'm not sure why some people try to hold onto the past as the almighty authority and not look to the future. Check out the CGC label and sales of Ms. Marvel #17 2nd print and All-New Marvel Now Point One and get back to me. Or, since we are holding onto the past. Lets check old Hulk #180 labels vs. new ones.
  17. Says whom? You are not the authority on this subject and nobody else on here is either. Is it the first time a character appears in a comic story? YES If you want to make claims about books like FOOM (another one I forgot to mention earlier), than fine. But even 500Club agrees there is a market for things like that and people who believe that. Also, where has Mr. Ween been?
  18. I'm not sure that's true with JSC and some of the resellers.
