  1. Today I went to an antique shop that I've never been to before, got a few good books for $2.50 each- Batman Mad Love 1st print, Superman 500 platinum sealed, R Crumb's ZAP #4 original, a few 1971 Creepy mags and then this happened... Almost full, has 29 sealed packs....

WOW phenomenal pickup! For those that don't know, those Star Wars cards go for a TON online.

  2. No one found anything today?

I approached a dealer at the flea that had a long box today. He is a regular at the flea market I attend. He does glass and pottery etc. I was surprised to see the long box on his table. I looking through it all 90's junk. He yells out "why don't you buy the whole box". I say nothing and continue to look at each book 1 by one. They are all bagged and no boards. I see 2 I like and ask how much. This is a box of swill mind you, and he says $2 each. I pull them both out band drop them in front of him. He has no clue. I say $3 for both? Yeah sure.

#17 is an easy 9.6 and excellent chance of a 9.8. #18 has a few ticks, so 9.2 - 9.4 would be my guess.

    :applause:

  3. There aren't any right now. You missed Batman and Superman Public Enemies, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, and Batman: Under the red Hood by a couple of months. (NLA on netflix). You can stream any of these plus a ton more for about $3/ea on Amazon, though.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can see:

Batman The animated Series (seasons 1-4) for free

Superman: The animated Series (seasons 1-3) for free.

    Netflix currently has the series:

Green Lantern: The animated Series (26 ep, FYI: I'm NOT a fan of this show)

Justice League (2 seasons 52 ep. <- also not a fan)

Justice League Unlimited (season 1, 39 ep) <-this currently shows on Sat morning cartoons locally to me.

Young Justice (season 1 22 episode)

Batman Beyond (seasons 1-3, 52 ep full run)

Both of these last ones so good that I've watched them both 3 times, atleast.

You have to either watch pirated Young Justice 2nd season, or buy it somewhre (Totally worth seeing, if you like the first season!).

I agree with some of the earlier posters that except for some of the early Marvel stuff, the DC animated shows are far and beyond the better entertainment (and I grew up loving everything Marvel). The early X-men show from the late 80's, early 90's was pretty good. But that was about it.

Back to the animated Movies. The ones that I know you can get on Amazon:

    Batman: Under the Red Hood

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

    DCU: Son of Batman

    Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

    Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

    Green Lantern: First flight

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (I liked First Flight better)

    Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox

Justice League: War (never saw this one)

    Justice League: Doom

$3, will let you rent it to watch for 24 hours. $13-$19 will let you own it indefinately through your Amazon account.

    EFT (edited for Truth)

I've watched all those series on Netflix you listed aside from the Green Lantern, and I really enjoyed them. Now it's time for me to dig into their movies.

Just watched Batman: Under the Red Hood. Good stuff.

Thank you for the recommendations. YOU ROCK! :headbang:

  4. So, who actually owns the movie rights to Inhumans? I thought it would be whoever owns the movie rights to the fantastic four.

Nope. Marvel owns the Inhumans, but they don't own the title mutant.

Fox owns the FF, X-men, Deadpool, Cable, Surfer and Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver.

    Sony owns Spider-man.

Marvel also owns Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver but they can't refer to them as mutants.

I think Marvel is going use the Inhumans franchise as an answer to the loss of the X-men to Fox and develop their own brand of 'non-mutant mutants'.

It's making for intriguing story families...

Avengers and related - Science and magic

Inhumans and related - non-mutant mutants

Guardians and related - Cosmos and sci fi

They're rebuilding their universe after the loss of some of the greatest franchises to other companies. The crossovers will be epic.

  7. For GOTG2 just play it safe and get the whole ST Warlock run and have Magus, Gamora and Pip covered. A perverted cigar chomping troll, oh yeah sure, they'd never put him in a movie

    +1

It's actually a good read. I'm glad I bought ST 178-181 a few months ago. I remember I was upset at a con then because the lowest price for a ST180 I could find was $25...probably sells for double now...probably double for ST181 now as well.

  8. Sooooo. If I wanted to start reading the comics where Season 5 of the TV show ended, where would I start?

I presume you mean where Season 4 ended, unless you have an inside line that I would love to hear about! heh.

The show regularly deviates from the comics in both small and large ways. The cliffhanger that our heroes left Season 4 in was not pulled directly from the comics, so there isn't an issue # that I could point you to. Others will have a better idea, but I would put the show somewhere in the early #60s, but again there isn't a direct correlation between the show and the comics.

As a fan of both the show and the comics I recommend you start with issue #1 and read straight through. There are significant differences between the two mediums in terms of story, and experiencing it as an illustrated and lettered page versus on the TV has its own benefits as well.

    Good luck!

    Thank you sir
