  1. i had to get one of those flying fairy things off my neighbors roof as their granddaughter was having a meltdown i saved the day !!
  2. on the subject of the Planet of the Apes ,,, Roddy McDowell who was a great actor BTW was also in a great episode of Columbo called short fuse
  3. we also had our own words for the Adams family tune (snap fingers and sing) The Adams family started , and Uncle Fester farted, the family is retarted... the Adams Family their house looks like a museum , it smells like petrified BM, they all like to scream , the Adamx family
  4. in grade school we had our own Beverly Hillbillies song, went like this ... lets listen to a story about a man named Jed took Elly Mae and threw her in the bed pulled down his zipper and took out his worm and out from his worm came a bubbling s***m
  5. Kirby DC Kamandi was a big deal back then , but they never did pan out value wise ...hmmmm
  6. i liked it but we didn't know any better at the time ...we didn't get this channel unless we went to see my cousins in Detroit , it was on channel 50 in Detroit and it was a heavenly special treat to watch when we were there!!

Bub's Daddy were a BIG deal back in my neighborhood in grade school , for a nickel you got this huge piece of gum !! i can still taste one now !! my favorite was cinnamon, and then watermelon.... !! so if i could scratch up 50 cents i could get a 20 cent comic book , a 10 cent pack of football cards two Bub's Daddy and a HUGE three Musketeers candy bar for a dime = total 50 cents !!
  8. @kavdo you remember your first issue of MAD bought of the rack ?? here is the first one i bought... 40 cents , i only made 35 cent allowance a week for loading and unloading the dishwasher(which i never did) so i had to save a nickel from the previous week to buy a MAD which was my favorite !!
  9. there was hardly any such thing as first appearances back then , only issue #1 was the most valuable , then issue#2 and so on and so on regardless if it was a first appearance or not ,,, Spiderman #129 was worth no more than #128
  10. unfortunately at my LCS as a kid i always bought the Marvel Tales and Marvels Greatest comics because i could not afford the originals , still have most of them but they aren't worth squat back then you could get Iron Man #1, and Subby #1 for $5 each

  12. i still have a soft spot for Richie Rich ,, Duck comics and of course Little Lulu !!
  13. LOL i'm still young at 60 thanks to the Lord! The first comic i bought off the rack was ASM 102 i was 15 when i bought Howard the Duck #1 off the rack and when i sold them the next year i used $20 to buy a half ounce of weed
  14. Howard the Duck was the first big deal that made national news, i bought a couple of them for a quarter each and sold them the next year for $20 each !! and $20 back then was a fortune as it would pay the phone bill for almost two months
  15. nothing beat a slurpee and a pack of ballcards or a comic !! i still have my slurpee cups
  16. yes good advice because you don't want to waste alcohol anywhere else except down the hatch !!!
