  1. Nothing pricey, but you can't understand how happy I am to have these!!! You also can see that I got my Reaper Bones 2 mini kickstarter pack, as the unpainted Mashaaf the Great Old One; hovers over the comics, waiting to devour those who would dare touch them. If anyone reading this is the one I purchased these from this week, THANK YOU!!! Oh, Dave Stevens....you had me at boobz.
  2. Has everyone purchased their copies of Action Comics 521 and subbed for grade???
  3. Some currents/recent Hellboy. Mignola sketch cover variants of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1952. -T
  4. Excellent! Spawn #1, Batman Detectives, and Superman/Batman #8's. And it looks like you're getting cought up on Flash (new 52). -Terry
  5. You ROCK Shark! Thanks for great prices on those. I keep checking your other listings. I'm a really big Dave Stevens fan (I have every Rocketeer comic and mag including the variants). I debated getting a couple of your others, but the iron mans were levitating the money out of my wallet. -Terry
  6. My eyeballs were glued to your shiny new slabs! -T
  7. Ha! I find it funny you collecting new stuff and me going a bit more old-school (atleast with the Iron Man). It must be freaky Friday! -Terry
  8. Going through comic withdrawal due to short pull lists the past 2 months so I picked-up these:
  9. So long as the packaging looks good, the comic should be good. I bought a thai version of Hellboy II in a limited edition packaging because it contained a rare ashcan cover. (The comic was still the English version). It was near mint because the package was still sealed and made it here from the other side of the globe without getting crushed. -Terry
  10. Gorilla King Comics is not far from the harbor in Fells Point. I've never been in it. Seems to have good reviews. https://plus.google.com/107841351429278222014/about?hl=en Every now and again I go to Collector's Corner in Parkville. They're very organized and have good quantities of comics. They don't have a lot of back issues, but what they have is VERY organized, including some grouped into buyable sets. They're also one of the few places in the DC/MD area that had $1 bin comics. But Parkville is about a 30 minute drive from the harbor. And there is no bus that will take you out to Parkville. I've been into LEGENDS COMIC SHOP, and I don't want to speak badly about it, but it's about 50% comics and 50% games. Their back-issue selection is tiny. Every single back issue of Dark Horse fit in about half of a long box. I asked if they had any more stashed somewhere, and they said "Nope. if it's not there, we don't have it." They're not rude or anything. Just nothing to browse but current and recent releases. -Terry
  11. 3D printed handgun of Hellboy's, made by GreisMonkey Designs, based on the comics. I modified mine to be a single action. 44mm round. A lot of fun to assemble.
  12. Did anyone get the Hellboy And the B.P.R.D. 1952 sketch variant covers? I noticed that they are 1:50 and with the tendency for low print runs for Dark Horse, it could wind-up being rarer than the Hellboy Wild Hunt #1 variant (1000 total copies). The problem seems to be that Dark Horse rarely announces the quantity of variant covers they are printing. Also, now that we're two issues into the new series, how are you feeling about Hellboy and The B.P.R.D. as a comic? I know it's an acquired taste, but I do miss Mignola's interior artwork. What say you?! -Terry
  13. If you read the previous posts, it appears that 6 was probably the 2nd episode shot as there was a lot of exposition and the original character and the absence of Liv from the 1st episode. Also, now that I look it up, I just noticed that the Production code for #6 is j5552, and episode 3 is J5553, and episode 4 is J5554...etc. Which seems proof positive what others were guessing is true. That #6 was actually the second episode shot and for some reason was reorganized in the airing order. I will say, that I was pretty disappointed in the first 3 episodes, so much so that I waited another whole week before catching 4 and just last night watched 6 and 7 back to back. #7 is a home run, in my mind. Just what I've been saying from before the first episode aired, I hoped that they would show a more depressed and agitated JC. Who's fed-up with being caught in the middle and has an FU attitude which I feel is true to the comics. In the trailers he looked a little too glib and happy-go lucky smart . I really was feeling him act out the angst and frustration. And internally, I was thinking "YES!!!! FINALLY!!!" I want more of that. They also have done something I commented on and noticed missing since episode 3. "Why not make it more suspenseful? Why not just follow the X-files formula?", and from the start of episode 7, where it starts off at the pentacostal Church, I was like "GAH! IT'S X-FILES!!!" Which I do not mean as a criticism. I was into it, completely start to finish. Episode 7 gets an A- from me. The ending fell flat and I hope none of that is a spoiler. Also, I would point out that he WAS smoking in episode 7. He flicks away the cig in a scene after taking a puff. -Terry
  14. My board origin story is pretty typical...I was a mild mannered TV watching citizen bitten by a radio-active paper-cut while thumbing through the dollar bin copies of Alapha flights and Warlord comics of the LCS....and was gifted with the extraordinary power to over-spend whenever I saw a comic I wanted. But from there, I was seeking out fellow Hellboy/Mignola enthusiasts, and found a link to here on a thread (I think posted by Bosco?) and despite finding a great dearth of Hellboy fans, I started reading other threads and sort of became hooked by the community and bar-style questions and answers. I'm puzzled why I still have yet to come across a convincing answer to the Veronica or Betty question. (I'd always thought Valerie was the hot one...What can I say? I like the chocolate). -T
  15. They can keep that variant cover. I did pick-up the Rosemary's baby variant, but I'm not buying these to collect. -T
  16. Did Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #2 come out today or not? I'm so confused by this. They had it scheduled for today (Nov 5) but no one shows it for sale. It's been pulled or shows "no longer available" from online sources. What gives? -T
  17. The cheapest I could find the TPB was almost $14 and that was before shipping. The LCS was sold out of that too. I wound-up finding #2A and 2B for the same total price ($22 incl. shipping). So I consider it a wash. I had already acquired 1,3,4,5, & 6. Another odd thing is that it seems the variants are easier to come by than the 1st prints. For a title without a movie option, this is pretty hot. -T
  18. I'm confused why no one has Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #2 available for pre-order, even. DCBSERVICE included. It doesn't even show-up on searches. I did have it on my pull list on TFAW but it disappeared and now TFAW also doesn't show a Sabrina #2 when I search for it. Second printing of #1, 3 and 4 are available for pre-order. This, as well as the Afterlife delays are really souring me on Archie comics. -T
  19. Constantine = . But Zed is hot. I would tune in to watch her every week. In fact, just have her on screen the entire time. It can do without constantine, the jerky dialogue, or clunky plot mechanics. The show feels like watered-down X-files from the early 90's. But lacking the intrigue or creepyness factor. In fact, just throw in a dog, and retitle the show "Scooby-doo". -T
  20. I noticed the other day that TFAW shows Sabrina on back order for a second time in as many weeks. And also the Issue #2 appears to be unavailable even for pre-order. I'm starting to feel like this series is cursed (no pun intended). I've had less trouble acquiring 20 year old variant covers than these new Archie regular covers. -T
  21. I decided to pick-up the Afterlife with Archie, after picking up and reading Sabrina (just to read, not collect)...But have noticed that all of the back issues are going like hot cakes. Trying to find one place that had all issues 1-6, was laborious to say the least. Actually, No one seems to have #2 for under $10, once you add in shipping it's more like $12 or $13. I did get 1 and 6 at a LCS (The massive over printing of variants + a reprint of #1 made that issue easier), but...some people are asking $15 for the #2 iss. I might give-up on the story arc if it's that difficult to get issues. I drove to 2 LCS's and called a 3rd before finally giving up and ordering Sabrina #1 on line. The Archie-bola is spreading and it appears to be contagious. -T
  22. I had to order online. I called several lcs's and a co-worker checked down south and they were out too. So I need to wait another week before I can read it. -T
  23. +1. I will probably pass on the next ep of the Flash.
  24. You mean more popular comic book character that people actually READ the comic? Or just dress-up like him for conventions? -T
