Hello folks, after many years in our hobby I have decided to follow some other interests and projects in my life; for this reason, I am starting to consider selling what is left of my collection, apart from a couple of pieces (manara, toppi, bachalo’s death and hewlett). I prefer dealing privately with other collectors and discuss about our passion (and probably loose some money) rather than consign the art to auction houses. IMHO we are talking about some great art here, so don’t expect to buy and flip the next day. I have some numbers in mind, but haven’t had the time to do a proper due diligence. These pieces won’t be offered anywhere but here for the next days, then a couple of them (or maybe more or maybe all) will be published in my booth during the next CAF live (may 2024). I have traded a very nice THCOL page before covid for 10/15K max and it was a very good example. Dunno what page can fetch 60k from the mini. Again, I have a wonderful example and am ready to sell for that amount. I hope you agree that the season of mist page result is out of this world.

It is an iconic piece for sure. But you can get a page from THCOL for a fraction of that price. Personally, being into storytelling and art (and being sandman a lot about word building) I prefer panel pages over illustrations. I had stalked David in the past in order to acquire this piece but he never wanted to sell. that sandman piece is great but 60k is bonkers. I have A better piece from that storyline. For that amount I would definitely sell.

I thought I had some experience and expertise about sandman and its related material. This image fetched at least 6/7X my expectations. man, I am out.

You are probably right, already at 10k. WOW!

Slightly higher, imho, but not over 10k. small piece, second mini, but iconic.

I dunno. i was going to bid on that page, but 5/8k was my price range. For 10k you can buy a HCOL page.

That is exactly what this GN is about, but it’s told through the eyes of a young girl who doesn’t understand what is happening around her. And why it is happening. It is something absolutely stunning. A real masterpiece.

Hello folks, A really nice Tank Girl pin up by Jamie Hewlett was sold on eBay just two days ago. I was flying when the auction ended, so I wasn't able to purchase the piece. If you have any leads about the winner of the auction, I will be more then delighted to shoot him a message! Hope you can help me out!

I am on my way to Milan airport, after attending the show on Saturday. Wonderful location, good weather, a lot of space to chat, show art and relax. Many dealers and too many artists. Did I have fun? Yes. Did I buy something? No. Did I consider buying anything? No. Prices were higher then usual, probably because the convention was sold as a "rich people only" show and everyone tried to make as much money as possible. Example 1): One dealer had one piece for sale at 45k and after a couple of hours it went up to 65k; another piece from 55k to 100k. Example 2): I saw a nice piece for sale, priced 13k; I enquired about a better piece I have (the seller agreed my piece was better - same artist, same story) and he told me he would be happy to have it in his next auction as the piece would fetch 6/8k... At first I thought he said 16/18k then he said I got it wrong and the price was 6/8... I wondered how my piece, better, would fetch half the price of the piece he was selling; He said its piece was priced aggressively by "the consignor". Well that happened to almost all the pieces he had. Example 3) in order to buy the first spot for a commission you had to auction. Last minute decision. You want to be the first in line with Manara? Bid. And the money is not included in the commission. So you pay the ticket, you pay the first spot, you pay the commission. One artist got a 25 euros winning bid and he got offended and didn't do any work during the day. Just three examples, but not a good way to do business. A lot of artists, but many of them unknown (at least) to me. McKean had the best stuff, but it was sold early on the first day. Nice chap. Commissions, commissions, commissions. Not too many people, I think they sold something like 300/400 tickets. Will I be back? I don't know, probably yes, but only to meet friends, just forget to do business. My two cents.
