  1. Hi! I just received my submission of comics back and one of the Ascension was labeled incorrectly. I had submitted two (2) Ascension #11 comics which were issued certification numbers 4013346016 and 4013346017. Both were labeled as the same comic, but 4013346017 is the variant. The lettering in Ascension is a different color and at the bottom of the variant there is an additional figure at the bottom holding a sword. Both comics are accepted in the regular slot. Can a variant slot be added and can 4013346017 be updated in the CGC system so can be added to a variant slot? Thank you! Hello @109 I have created a slot titled: Ascension 11 Variant Cover in the Ascension (Top Cow) set. I cannot edit the database. I would recommend re submitting the variant cover as a mechanical error, be sure to include a description of the issue, and it will be reslabbed at no charge. Thanks
  2. Hello! Can you add a Sun Khamunaki Cover set? Currently, I only have a few but there are numerous comics with Sun Khamunaki covers. Thank you! Mostly Farro's Lounge, Lady Death, and Notti and Nyce. As I have stated before, with the nature of the database, it is very difficult to filter comics by artist. I will circle back to this set when I have completed the other requests. Thanks! Set: Sun Khamunaki Covers Created 6/28/22

I would be happy to create this set if you can provide a list of the comics you wish to have added. Please submit this list in columns, in plain text with cert numbers if possible. Thanks!
  6. I read the guidelines and it wasn't really clear to me why it did not qualify for a set at this time. So, I'm guessing it was due to not posting the CGC Registry number that is issued to the graded comics. Hopefully this will help. Thank you! 12. Back in 2004 or around that time period, I purchased the Witchblade #75 variant New Dimension Comics Exclusive with the David Nestler cover. There were 3 different covers, which included 2 limited edition covers. One was the Wizard World Philly Cheesecake & Cheesesteak Gold Foil Edition limited to 500 copies and the other was the Silver Foil Edition limited to 99 copies. Well I had purchased one of each and just recently sent them in to be graded. I sent all 3 variants in and all came back with a CGC 9.8 grade. The cover art is very cool and something to look at. I love these new cases that CGC is using and maybe it is me, but the clarity through the plastic is extremely clear. Thanks for looking, 109

    Wonderland

I recently purchased this Grimm Fairy Tales Presents Wonderland #1 CGC 9.9 graded comic with Greg Horn variant cover. The comic is signed by Greg Horn and has a beautiful and fascinating cover. I really don't collect the Grimm comics, but I paid $105.00 for it and will hopefully be a great investment in the future. Just want to share. Thanks for looking, 109
  14. Darkness and Tomb Raider / Witchblade and Tomb Raider / CGC New Case On my last submission of comics to CGC, I submitted 30 comics with 29 of them Witchblade and 1 Darkness & Tomb Raider crossover. Several of the Witchblade comics were also crossovers with Tomb Raider and Darkchylde. I did good this time with 22 returning at 9.8, 5 at 9.6, 2 at 9.4 and 1 at 9.0. Not sure what happened on that last one. I submitted a Witchblade and Tomb Raider Dynamic Forces Red Foil Logo and Red Foil Eyes Edition along with a Darkness and Tomb Raider Dynamic Forces Red Foil Logo and Red Foil Eyes Edition. Both of these comics are extremely rare and are limited to only 100 copies. I had purchased them years ago and they came with the Dynamic Forces Certification. Well, I got very lucky and both of them came back at a 9.8 grade. They are both beautiful comics and was really happy. My last few submissions to CGC before this one was not that great and came back with a very low average of 9.8's. I did submit a New Mutants 87 with one of the other orders and it returned with a 9.8 grade, so that was very exciting. I think CGC's New Case is just awesome. The new case brings the cover picture out and gives more clarity. I like the way the variant information is in the center over the bar code and with the comic information on the back. But, I think one my favorite things is the top of case strip is sealed inside the case, so no more pealing off. I would love to have all my graded comics to have the new case, but that is too much, I would rather use the funds to submit comics. This is just my opinion, I'm sure some people feel different about it. Thanks for reading, 109 To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

    SMASHCON

Witchblade #178 SMASHCON Edition I have been collecting Witchblade comics since 1995 and have seen a variety of different art styles from cover artists. I'm a big fan of Michael Turner, but I think the Witchblade #178 SmashCon Edition is one my favorite covers. The art is by Carlos Cortez who I have never heard of before. I purchased a couple of these from the online Top Cow Store and I had CGC grade the best one out of the bunch. Top Cow sent me one that was signed by Cortez which was the best one to have graded, so it came back as a 9.8 Qualified grade. Check it out and let me know what you think and what you might know about this artist. Thank for looking, 109 To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

    Happy New Year 2016!

Happy Hunting! I hope everyone had a Happy New Year and have a successful time hunting through the 2016 year for the raw and graded comics that you all desire. It is always a joy reading the threats, so please keep them coming. Attached is Jim Lee's Sketchbook at CGC 9.8. Grifter looks like he could help you on your hunt. ! Another one of my favorites, such a cool cover. Thanks for looking, 109 To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  17. Awesome Randy Green Cover Merry Christmas everyone and hope you have a great holiday. Attached is one of my favorite Randy Green Witchblade covers. It is Witchblade #132 variant Virginia Con Sketch edition and very limited. I believe only 100 produced. According to the Census only 2 graded and both at 9.8. 20. Are Comic Book Dealer's trying to inflate comic book prices? I search and purchase comics books off ebay all the time. I primarily collect Modern Age Independent type comics and few Marvel and DC comics. The comic books that I collect don't have the demand that Marvel and DC comics have since there is a smaller collective market, which at times makes it easier for me to purchase at a lower cost. Some of the bigger online Comic Companies which sell everything sometimes ask 10 times what there actual value of the comic is. I don't believe they sell at these outrages prices. I know some sellers do this to show off their collection and are in no rush to sell their comics, unless they get the high dollar price they are asking. But I don't understand why the bigger Comic Companies are doing this unless they are trying to set a higher price for these comics. Maybe after posting these comics for a high outrages price they place them on sale at 50% off and still hope to make a killing. Let me know what you think. Thx, 109 P.S. 21. Michael Turner's Fathom #9 I really enjoy Michael Turner's art. He was a great artist and he could draw women in a very sexy, but tactful way. Fathom #9 Holofoil Edition is one of my favorites. Attached is picture of my Fathom #9 Holofoil Edition autographed by Michael Turner. Just wanted to shape. Thank for looking, 109. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. Lady Death Premium

Lady Death Sketch "Bad to the Bone" I just scored this Lady Death & The Women of Chaos! Gallery #1 with a graded CGC 9.8. This is one of the coolest Lady Death covers that I have seen. Apparently, this was only limited to 2000 copies. I just wanted share this "Bad A**" cover. Thanks for looking. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. 23. "Hero Initiative" Benefit Book Hero Comics 'nn' 2014 IDW Scott Campbell " Hero Initiative" Benefit Book helps support struggling artists and writers working in the comic book industry. I love the J. Scott Campbell covers and this 2014 edition has to have one of the best covers. I try to purchase multiple books for each year they are issued to support the struggling artists and writers, plus the covers are just killer. I don't have all of them yet and I am currently still working on it. I was able to score a CGC 9.8 edition, but I'm still looking to score one that was signed by Campbell himself. What's in your Tomb?

Tomb Raider most popular collectibles The Tomb Raider #21 variant comic with Clarence Lansang's cover art is one of the most desirable Tomb Raider comics. It is one of the most tactful and sexy Lara Croft pieces of art. This variant comic is hard to come by and can fetch $30 to $40 or more for a raw copy. Most of these comics for sale on ebay have a much higher asking price, but appear to idle in place. A graded copy can fetch a much higher price, but are very hard to come by. According to the CGC Census there are only 7 graded copies with 5 at 9.8 and 2 at 9.6. I just wanted to share. Thanks for reading, 109. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. 25. I miss the WWLA Con I can't remember the last time Wizard World Con came to the Los Angeles area, but I did attend one or two of them in the past. Looking at the Wizard World Con Schedule for 2015 and 2016 it does not appear they will be coming to the Los Angeles or southern California area. They did have the Con in Los Vegas this year and have it scheduled for next year, but still that is still a drive for the southern California collectors, who love to attend the cons. Maybe they believe there are too many cons in southern California already. But, Wizard World Con did schedule cons in Sacramento and San Jose, which is located in northern California and way too far for most southern Californians to drive. What do you think?
