  1. So they`re talking Cable will lead the New Mutants? Interesting. Does this mean New Mutants #87 shoots up in price? If true, definitely!
  2. Awesome news! Just hoping it gets done well.
  3. Picked up a CGC 9.6 Invincible #12 at a small comic show here in town over the weekend, only paid $40 for it, so I'm pretty happy with that! It's rare to see many Invincible books at that show. He had #2 and #3 as well, but I'm saving some cash for C2E2 next week.
  4. And he's naming Jar Jar as CFO. Meesuh handle moneys?
  5. WTTB? Been a LONG time Lurker thought I would throw my hat into the ring... What's the announcement entail? Along the same lines of the DMG announcement last month but MUCH more than "We are Making a Movie Universe" Details.... are coming Awesome! So I should be buying more Rai #0? Will there be a press conference or just a standard media release?

  7. Both Booster Gold and Blue Beetle appeared on the show Smallville. DC has already announced that they have plans for Ted Kord in one capacity or another. They previously restricted his use in either Arrow or The Flash shows but weren't specific about their intent. This show may be the reason why, or they might be posturing themselves for his use on the big screen. They recently re-introduced him into the New 52 in their Forever Evil storyline. Clearly there's something Blue Beetle on the horizon. If they bring Ted to any screen it's a safe bet you'll see Booster Gold follow. That's what I'm thinking as well, I think Blue Beetle has enough of a fan base that he's bound to show up in something and this may be it. I hope it is. I actually bought a Captain Atom #83 (1st Ted Kord) last night, kind of prompted by this announcement...but mostly because I've been wanting that book for awhile and if BB is announced it will probably cost more than I'd like to pay for it. I've heard speculation that one of the 3 may be Vixen as well.
  8. Great news! Curious to see who everyone thinks the 3 other characters will be. Black Canary is who I am lookin forward to the most I think Edit: Have Booster Gold or Blue Beetle appeared on TV before? Blue Beetle hasn't, right?
  9. I quite agree… I mean that’s not what makes them "keys" – unless they were already keys (important ones) to begin with. I agree. Keys are keys. First issues of all time greats; spiderman, hulk, xmen, avengers, and even thor and iron man. Key villains like doom, Loki... We are now creating keys based on movie or tv hype. If you appear or are rumored to appear your first appearance is now a key. plastique, shark man, angel dust... Key issues, in my opinion, involve cameos, first appearances, origin stories, major events, costume changes, writers/artists 1st and last issues, or even more obscure things like amazing covers (Aquaman 42 for example, which also happens to be Black Manta's 2nd app). But let's not get it twisted, keys are subjective. I might consider some obscure meaningless Thing books keys because he was the character featured in the first comic that I bought. Maybe it's personal, maybe it's a movie appearance, maybe it's a c-list character's origin story...it's still a key, to someone. And chances are if it's anything dealing with a "first", it's a key to a lot of people. I just wish I owned all these "keys" that you speak of. Me too, meeee too.

  11. Hipster? I thought it was old dudes like me that didn't like it. Though, I'm personally indifferent. But why get Stan THE Man to sign a random Marvel book that he has no ties to, and then sell it on Ebay. It's ridiculous to me. Yea, THAT sentiment I do understand.
  12. People bad-mouthing Stan Lee's signature on a Marvel comic is one of the most hipster, try-hard, unnecessarily contrarian attitudes one could possibly have. Please, get over yourself. How is it difficult to imagine why some folks would want his signature on a book?
  13. The Thing definitely looks good so far, I can't believe it but I'm a little excited for this. My hopes were so low to begin with, though, so it really didn't take much I suppose. Still, I'm happy to at least be excited for an FF movie
  14. Whetteon's own site (I think it's his site anyway) lyriaexchange.com aggragates the most watched comics by age. You can see most active (bid #) and some other filters. Good message boards too, I'm friends with a guy who is a regular over there.
  15. While I think you are right I think its awhile longer before it really becomes apparent in circulation numbers. Maybe another year or so. When I see more women next to me hunting back issues on titles I will really know its changed. I see this occasionally now, but just enough to notice. It goes with out saying I'm sure, but the success of the movies with female lead characters will be a huge factor in this I think. If Captain Marvel is a huge success, I can see a pretty big leap in female fan base numbers.
  16. This is largely why I started hunting Carol Danvers books recently. Even without the movie, down the road I think she's going to be much more important to the Marvel Universe than she is now. Basically I expect she's going to hold a position in the MU similar to Wonder Woman. Agreed, I've been getting her books and more recently Kamala Kahn books, just had a Captain Marvel 14 & 17 arrive today actually. Haven't done much with female Thor outside of the Thor #1 deadpool variant, maybe I'll have to stock up.
  17. I received my Invincible #1 today in the mail The seller shipped it with a hard plastic sleeve (kinda like the kind used for baseball cards), thought that was cool. The book looks better in person than in the picture, can't say I've ever had that happen before, but maybe it's my rose-colored glasses since it's one of my grail books
  18. I hear ya, I could see myself upgrading down the line, but I'm super pumped about the price I got it for, even the BIN was really solid IMO...kind of surprised it hung around so long for such a rare book. We may just be a small fan base though While certainly not my most valuable book, it may be my favorite one in my collection. Now I wait, I'm going to be following the tracking # on that package like a hawk
  19. Yup, ebay, this had a BIN of 180, which was already pretty solid I thought but I figured I'd throw an offer and see if I could get it for less.
  20. Ohhhh man, happy days! I've finally purchased Invincible #1! It's still being shipped to me, but here she is: Pretty solid copy and I think and I got it for a lot less than I thought I would, so that's always good.
  21. I bought some books from Frank during VCC and they arrived really quickly, great packaging as well! Would gladly do business with again.
  22. Clearly Marvel knows their target audience super well...
  23. As a web developer/programmer...*groooaaaaannnnnn* The trend of the portraying programmers as anti-social, basement-dwellers that's perpetuated Hollywood is going to look really silly in a few years with the way the industry is growi--...ah, who am I kidding. Still, I hate that stereotype
  24. Eh, things like the water cannon don't break immersion for me much...but I definitely thought it was a bit goofy. I always think it's kinda funny to call something "unrealistic" when the whole premise of the show is a zombie apocalypse On the other hand, high pressure water being so effective against rotting zombie heads makes all of the ridiculously easy sword slicing, stabbing, skull bashing and other zombie hacking and slashing seem par for the course and a bit more explainable.
