Same. BP doesn't hurt the buyer, it hurts the seller (unless they've negotiated a cut of it). The buyer's budget is the buyer's budget. Why would that change based on what part is hammer and what part is BP? I never knew why people thought that.

Especially on HA where it's baked in and you see it.

I can understand on ComicConnect where not every item has it and it's added after the fact.

Hi Twanj, I had limited information on the cover as it's a consignment piece that's still in transit to me [hence the subpar pic] --that said your query prompted me to research it and you are correct, it was indeed inked after publication. I will make the appropriate change to the description and alert the buyer as well --thanks!

    Thanks for doing that!

You've got some great art that I've been on the fence about. I need to do a deep dive on what else you have.

Will, I don't mean to pick on you because you always seem above board but this looks like one of the Bagley pencil covers that has been inked after publication.

It's awesome, but in the interest of full disclosure, that's what it appears to be to me. Is that what it is?

    Title:Venom #1 cover (Marvel, 2018) Sonny's Retailer Exclusive

    Media Type:Pencil and Ink

I'm just tired of the flippers. You put out a respectable number and find you're the 2nd highest bidder. Fine, I can live with that. Seeing the winner post the page on CAF within 72 hours of the auction end and try to squeeze an extra 10-15% of it, though... man.

    And losing to DEALERS.

At least some dealers file their wins away in a closet to be taken out a long time later.

Others put stuff up on their site immediately with a 50% markup.

Also seemed to drown out the pencils a bit. I'm hoping the camera/tripod fares better than these. Thanks for the suggestion and also offering the results of your pics.

Here are some recent iPhone Notes scans. I agree, the pencils don't come out as well.

Could someone explain why people bid for tracking on Heritage Auctions instead of using the Watch feature?  I understand on other auction formats that don't have an active tracking system but why on Heritage?

I'm currently tracking a few pages. It separates things you're seriously interested into another tab of My Bids.

I think interest in the art declined as interest in the show declined.  So many people stopped watching it after Glen's death.

Exactly when I checked out. Someone should study this phenomenon as its so, so common to hear people say the exact same thing. And I wasn't even a huge Glen fan or anything like that.

That's when I stopped, along with most of my friends. We used to get together and watch. I think it was just too brutal and sad. I wasn't a Glen fan either. We knew what the show was and people were going to die, but no need to wallow in it.

Does this sale help Dan's market? I suppose it doesn't hurt, but not really otherwise. His art values are fairly well established already. But let's say it flopped and sold for $100. At this point, that would also have had zero impact. I guarantee you the next art drop for Dan will be just fine, regardless of how one piece did at a show auction. High or low.

Every charity auction I've ever heard of has gone nuts, to the point that if it's something I want I don't even bother bidding. There's no point! It's awesome they raise a bunch for causes and I have no reason to show off and overpay.
