  1. How about this beautiful Cherry Sparkle bottle hanger from the 1920's? This ties to the tin sign I showed last time.
  2. I know I just did some pre-MAD Alfred E Neuman stuff but had some more weird items in my photobucket. So, if you are a fan, read on, if not, get with the picture! Now, consider that this stuff is before MAD adopted Alfred. In some cases LONG before. Enjoy! First up is the set of "Sillie Willie" drink coasters in the original box.
  3. Maybe somebody should start a broken neck thread...
  4. Annother SA Action #240 cover featuring a prominent Sphinx with a little different spin.
  5. How about Action #56? What most people don't know is that the reason the Sphinx has most of his nose missing is not due to sand storms and errosion as I originally thought. In fact the Nazi's used it for target practice during WWII. What is wrong with people? It happens to this day with terrorists destroying historical artifacts. It is amazing anything exists from ancient times...
  6. Next up is a great Mystery in Space #36 cover. I love the combination of the Spinx and a space theme. Also a great "grey tone" cover.
  7. I like this Don Winslow #57 a lot. As an added bonus, it has a cool Singapore Sal story!
  8. I've always had a fasicination with Egypt and especially the Sphinx. It blows me away that it still exists, why it was created and how cool it looks sitting out in a desert. So, when I see comics that picture it, I have to have them. I'm sure I missed a lot so feel freee to post yours! Sensation #90
  9. Those Rock 'N Roll mags look cool. Being a graphic designer, I really love the typeface in the title!
  10. Some old non-comic Wonder Woman items. There aren't many GA pieces that were created...
  11. Man, I've been down that road myself! Thanks for posting this Bang. I've always wanted to read that story!
  12. I didn't see a USA #7 or you wouldn't have it! There were VERY few Timelys. All I know of were about 5 Caps in the #60s that Ed got. Joe, the buyer of the collection, put a bunch of books on eBay before I met him. The only ones I know of for sure we're nice copies of MM #26 & 55. I didn't get any Timelys. I will ask Joe next time I see him. He's pretty good at remembering these books. Might be one he sold on EBay before I met him. The pencil signature does look a little similar to the early books. I think it might have been his mom who did those. The later ink ones are his for sure. The thing that concerns me is the Joe Simon marking. Looks like some one was trying to imitate Simon's signature. But it is in ink and his name is pencil. Hard to tell. I do know that these two Babe Ruth's are the only ones I have seen with any writing other than his name. The CC Beck is interesting. He seemed to know the artist's work and he had a lot of Fawcetts so he was a fan. I suspect this puppy was one of 'em... Classic key (last Bucky; 1st Golden Girl) and a very tough book in the run. [/quote) Yep, that came from Ed's buy. Would have loved to have gotten those too but I can't be greedy! Welcome to the "Paul" club Cat. Nice one to break your cherry on. Mind me asking where you got it? I'm trying to trace the lineage on these. (You can PM me if you want) or just tell me none of my business too! Thanks. It's no big secret that I snagged that puppy off the boards. My buddy Roy (Vintage Comics) listed it in the sales thread. Either Roy or someone else gave me the heads-up knowing that HG Caps were in my wheelhouse. I was just a little quicker on the trigger than other boardie's that day. Sorry, I can't provide more help on the provenance. You'll have to ask him. (thumbs u Well it looks like that one went from "Paul" to Joe (the buyer of the collection), to Ed Robertson to Roy? to you! But Somehow I think it has found a final resting place! Wonder where the other 4 beauties are now... Awesome book Cat!
  13. And last, this is for scifiduck!I mentioned that I picked up another blue Dell spacer for my dell rack. It originally only came with 2 but when I saw this just sitting around at a show, I thought i would look cool at the bottom so I got it. I took this picture today just how it sits. The picture ain't that good but this gives you an idea what it looks like now.
  14. Here is a cool and very scarce Little Golden Books rack I picked up in San Francisco a few years ago. It is also 1950's era.
  15. Here is a late 1950's DC table top spinner rack I recently found.
  16. Here is an old free standing folding rack. I use this at shows to sell cheap books out of. It gets a lot of attention and everyone wants to buy it...
  17. Here is a late 1950's/early 1960's spinner rack top only.
  18. I've gotton a lot of questions about my comic racks. I do have a few and finally got around to taking some shots. Here are all the ones I've got at the moment. So here you go. First up is my 1950's Dell rack that I've posted before all loaded with vintage Dells:
