  1. The last con I attended was this show 2 years ago I believe. Looking forward to being able to attend again!
  2. Not to dig this thread back up, but I was reminded of this when I saw these new eBay listings from a seller who pretty much only sells Amphoman #1 and a couple random nick-nacks. No clue what's going on
  3. Very happy with the quick upgrade from my 5.0. Some brilliant looking colors on this copy, but we'll see when I get it in hand.
  4. Loved these Schomburg Miss Masque covers, namely America's Best Comics 23 and 25 and Exciting Comics 53. Grabbed a Bonnett's copy of 25 off eBay, but would still like to grab a 23 eventually.
  5. The All-American 25 surprised me, but I can kind of understand it. However, I feel more sales are happening on HA recently that surprise me and I do not understand. For example, last weekend's auction, a CGC 5.0 America's Best Comics #25 with OW pages sold for a little over $2K after buyer's premium while a CGC 5.5 with OW pages (though less eye appeal due to an obtrusive stamp on the cover) sat on eBay BIN at a bit under $600 until a bit after the entire bidding for this copy (I grabbed the eBay one since I was debating about pulling the trigger for like the past 6 months or so before this anyways). I value eye appeal, but not at 4x another copy's price, which was a big stand out to me. Maybe there's another reason that I'm missing though. There is a book in slightly lower condition and already going for ever so slightly more than the same books currently listed on eBay BIN right now (with same page quality and slightly nicer grade by 0.5 though it's graded by someone else). Curious to see what the auction will go for. I wasn't actively watching HA auctions selling for much more than similar books listed elsewhere until recently, so I'm not sure if others have observed the same on books they were watching. I noticed it a few other times recently, but I can't remember exactly when or on which books at the moment.
  6. Grabbed this off of CLink last night. One of my favorite More Fun covers. Absolutely love the color scheme.
  7. Was watching this and ready to bid, thinking I was in the ball park. Wow was I wrong. Almost 4x what I was willing to spend.
  8. My most recent shipment from the April auction (4-28) was shipped out on (5-20) and arrived on (5-25), so about a month to receive it. You'll get an email from FedEx once it ships. CLink has gotten a bit slower recently, but it doesn't compare to CC at least and I think it's pretty comparable to HA now. CLink used to be wayyyy faster than HA if memory serves me right where some of my wins shipped before that monthly auction ended even. If waiting a month for a book is too long, auction houses may not be the best route to purchase books IMO.
  9. As much as I love Avengers 8 and hopes it matches FF 5 in price, I highly doubt it ever will and I don't think it should. I have high hopes for Avengers 8, but, if it did match FF5 in price at some point, I feel like most people, myself included, would trade theirs in a heartbeat for a FF 5, which there aren't enough of to go around. I like Kang more than Doom personally, but I just didn't see that many FF 5s (in any grade) at cons years ago but would see quite a few Avengers 8 at each one (though mostly low-mid grade). That said, I think Kang has the potential for an awesome sci-fi epic across films and I'm looking forward to see anything they do with him in the MCU.
  10. Yeah, that 5.0 from CC is one of my three. I didn't anticipate winning that one. If I recall, it was the calm before the storm where prices felt a bit weak to me on stuff then, after that auction, my bids were getting blown out of the water left and right for the next 6 months. Lol I passed over All-star 37 so many times before this, including that 6.5 on HA if I recall correctly and losing out on two 7.5s for a grand as well in late 2019. I'm also kicking myself hard on that one and had to pay up a bit more than I would have wanted. Ah well! Happy to have a copy now at least. If we're talking about GL 10, I think 4.0 for $1300 is a good price. I'd be happy paying that. Hint hint haha! I think prices were mostly fairly weak the past 2 years, with tons coming to auction/for sale after I saw none for a 1-2 year span. I won 3 of the 7 that I recall I saw for sale in the past 1-1.5 years and I paid $1.3K for a 5.0, 1.5K for a 5.5 (it looks miserable. Probably should not be a 5.5 IMO), and 1.7K for a 6.0 (one of the other companies, so I think it made it a weak sale). I'd say the 5.0 and 6.0 were on the weaker end and the 5.5 looks bad enough where I wasn't satisfied with it when I got it in hand. Other sales I saw were 2-3 6.5s in the last year. One 6.5 D pedigree for $3K on HA. One non-pedigree and other grading company for $2.4K on eBay. I think I saw a third 6.0-6.5 sell for $2K on instagram too, but I can't remember the price or seller for sure. I believe my friend just sold his 2.5 for around a grand too, but I don't have the exact number on that one. I feel like this book's price bounces around quite a bit and sometimes, it just doesn't get noticed by the right people at auction and it slips by with a weak result. Edit: There was also a raw 5.0 on MCS that sold for $1.6-7K I believe.
  11. 6 months of not winning a single auction except a 1st Tor when I was drunk, then I end up winning 2 in the same week. Mind blowing! Won this last night on CLink. I love this cover, and the colors seem to really pop on this copy. Also, prepping for that Uncle Marvel movie .
  12. Yeah, that may have been partially because of me haha. Was on the look out for a long time before they started popping up left and right at auctions for a period of time. Glad you got one though! Such a memorable villains from the Justice League cartoons when I was a kid and such an outstanding cover with great colors imo. It's a book I'm always happy to pick up at a reasonable price.
  13. Won an All-Star 37 last night at HA. Been wanting this book for a few years now and kept losing every auction. After losing the 8.5 by around $8K more than I anticipated losing by in the recent CC auction, I figured it was time to stop being a cheapskate and just fork over the money and buy whatever copy I can get. Happy with how this copy looks. Will sit nicely with my Vandal Savage hoard haha.
  14. The listed sale prices are the highest bid. They do not include the 15% buyer's premium, i.e. Batman #1 8.0 is listed as sold for 1.05 million but was ~1.2 mil with BP. Edit: Oops, I'm wayyyy behind. Forgot to refresh page.
