  1. Camera Comics #7 featuring the adorable and sassy photographer/sleuth Linda Lens. Corrupt D.A. plunges to his death..... Time for a pedicure.
  2. Thanks! I really enjoy everyone's posts and comments.
  3. Another one of my prized possessions. This is my favorite Blonde Phantom cover... (imaging by CGC)
  4. Tim Holt #30 featured another deadly villainess in the Ghost Rider story...
  5. Here's Tim Holt #30 with another fantastic cover... And the splash page... And a few panels of lovely blow-dart action... "THE GREAT REDMASK LIES AT MY FEET - HELPLESS!" Some guys have all the luck.
  6. Tim Holt #25 - The first appearance of Black Phantom. I love this cover! Here's the splash page... And a nice page of action...
  7. That's the beauty of these Golden Age fighting females. As far as I'm concerned, the more glamorous and impractical the attire, the better! Granted the men were always in suites and ties, and usually had a hat. The hat would then defy all logic and always stay on. The art of knocking a man's hat off...
  8. The same trick can also be done in high-heeled boots.
  9. I like both also, but I was thinking that that break from the all American traditional to the brunette version is kinda ground breaking for the time period. I think the "brunette with bookworm glasses" super-heroine was very groundbreaking for the time. It's especially interesting that the character Madeleine Joyce did not wear glasses. She only put them on as part of her Miss America costume. Perhaps it was deliberate to do the exact opposite of Clark Kent / Superman?
  10. Thank you BB-Gun and Marty for the awesome Miss America splash pages! Somewhere along the way, Miss America changed from a blonde to a brunette with glasses. I love both looks, but I'm partial to the blonde Miss America.
  11. I love the way this plays out... Beauty + Charm + Cunning = Dead Deputy
  12. Women Outlaws #7 - Another low grade book with a great cover.
  13. My copy of It Really Happened #11 has seen better days, but it's a wonderful Schomburg cover... ...with an awesome splash as well... [insert your own pirate booty joke here]
  14. That's the beauty of these Golden Age fighting females. As far as I'm concerned, the more glamorous and impractical the attire, the better! Granted the men were always in suites and ties, and usually had a hat. The hat would then defy all logic and always stay on. Check out the covers of Miss Fury #7, Lady Luck #88, and Black Phantom #1. You'll see that true queens of fighting are able to knock those hats off!
  15. I'm pretty sure it's a Photoshopped fantasy cover. And a dang good one - especially the way the orange matches so well. I love the splash page, btw

  17. On the subject of long gowns and high heels, here are some scans from one of my favorite Betty Bates stories which appeared in Hit Comics #44. There is no shortage of glamour and whoop-@ss
