  1. Very hefty price on this Campbell piece at $25,250. Though the 3rd highest bidder was only at $16k.
  2. I thought I read that moving forward, the GI Joe retro figures will feature a thicker cardstock.
  3. I believe some sports collectible auctions at Heritage have featured extended bidding for a while now too.
  4. It's showing up in Comicconnect past auction results from 2021 selling for $133,000. Great page!
  5. Nice Archie pickups! I would say pieces with Betty &/or Veronica, when drawn well, can go for pretty good money. Other stuff with not much going on art wise can be quite cheap. As far as artists go, to my untrained eye, "Prize Size" looks like Al Hartley. "Still Life" looks like Dan Decarlo. I'd have to look at some other pieces more closely. Congrats on some cool additions!
  6. So this Batman piece started as a "commission preliminary sketch" then sold & became an "unused pencil cover prelim" with new stat, and now is a "Batman 66 cover / design lost episode #1" with new stats replacing other stat and then put on a board? Ok then.
  7. I've had good experiences trading/buying with Bechara, Albert Moy, and Anthony Snyder. Not a 100% success rate, but I've acquired some nice items doing deals with them. I especially like chatting with Bechara, and he always has stuff not on his website.
  8. I've actually done several, what I would consider, successful trades with dealers. Most of the time the negotiations went very well and I got fair value in trade. Maybe a couple times I traded something knowing I left a little money on the table. But, that was giving something up I had less affinity for than the item I acquired. Sure I've seen a few of my pieces show up at higher markups than expected, but I've not regretted the deals at all.
  9. That Taco Bell lunch proved quite the challenge to his Invincible-ness.
  10. I agree on these two. Real nice buy for whomever got the Ditko piece. I was thinking $125,000 at least. Strong price on the Romita, especially with the amateur restoration. Though, large art Romita Spider-man work doesn't become available too often.
  11. I put a couple bids in, but didn't win anything. I considered the Hostess ads, but none of them were great examples IMO. Some nice Decarlo items, and it seems most of the Harry Lucey stuff sold for strong prices.
  12. Exhibitor list is up on the convention website.
  13. Yes! We almost never used modules ourselves. I loved spending hours creating maps on grid paper and writing up an adventure my friends could go on. So, I basically bought the Basic Set & a couple Monster Manuals and used those. I did think the modules were cool though. I still have most of the maps/adventures/player profile papers I had from the early 80s and it's fun to look back on them now.
  14. Thank you for putting this together. Lots of good information and resources here.
  15. The Dragonfly did turn out quite nice, and I'll consider it in the next 30 days. However, it was not one of my favorites in the 80s line, so I never had the original. I was really hoping for a Vamp or Wolverine.
  16. Anyone here collect the Mondo Masters of the Universe 12" scale figures? The Trap-Jaw looks great and is up for pre-order now, but closes tomorrow morning I believe.
  17. Agreed, they all do look really good. I especially love the Copperhead, as he is one of my favs from my childhood.
  18. Buzzetta, I'm seeing the 6" Walmart Classified retro Snake Eyes available for pre-order today. I'm getting one, as I like the look best out of the several versions.
  19. Loving the Classified Trouble Bubble. Thanks for posting the news F for Fake. I didn't pay much attention to this line at first, but when the HISS was offered, I decided to get some figures to make a small display when it arrives. The figures keep looking better and better too - Crimson Guard, Bat, Cobra Officer...
  20. Transformers: The Movie #1 cover by Perlin went for $102,000. Higher than I thought it would go, but I'm sure it hits a nostalgic sweet spot for many.
  21. Smart! Building a bunker for the Great Comic Art Crash on the horizon.
  22. A toy auction at Heritage ended today, though there was a piece of OA I noticed went pretty high. Earl Norem Masters of the Universe piece, though no mention where/if it was published. $35,000.
  23. Fantastic Spartans piece! Very impressive OA movie poster collection you have.
  24. Interestingly enough, I've been called the Roomba. I kind of meander slowly around the big auctions, but never pick up anything of substance.
