  1. OK, I want to be off the list. LINK stating the matter was resolved
  2. I don't have any way to know if I've been removed, but since the guy who nominated me to be a member also said all was good, I'm assuming I'm a free man. Also, it's fairly easy to make a situation seem worse than it was in reality. I mean, I'm not making up any excuses, but I thought the refund was paid in full LONG before FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIX days had lapsed. Thought and bothering to make sure are two different things. Again, I accept full responsibility for some feathers being ruffled. All I'm saying is that at the time I was trying to scrape together some cash to help my Mom out and had zero idea that a $180 sale was going to wind up stressing everyone out involved. I refunded my buyer $130. Took a long time. Sorry. It was a series of unusual circumstances. I really am sorry that it went over like it did. I've shipped out probably 500 packages over the years here. This was the ONLY deal I can remember me flaking on. So, can I sell my NM copy of Spiderman vs Superman over in the sales thread, or wha ??
  3. For the record: I really did drop the ball on handling this refund. It came during a very trying time for my family and myself. I've been cash strapped for (like forever)...but no excuse. I'd like to say that Jeff (Stronguy) has been very patient and I have been very disorganized and mixed up with my priorities. So, for the record, I'll have the balance taken care of Wed. or Thursday. Sincerely, Jim VK. p.s. BTW, It came as some surprise to me, after a bit of a hiatus from the boards, to realize that there was still a balance owed to Jeff. I thought it was taken care of, but of course, that oversight is my fault for not keeping better records during that time period.
  4. Me, chiming in to let everyone know that I will be paying off the remaining $20 or $25 I owe a fellow boardie (a refund on his purchase) by Wednesday.
  5. Apparently there is a Comic's Buyer's Guide SUPPLEMENT that has an early appearance of HELLBOY. I recently saw it sold for a jaw dropping amount (to me, anyway) on EBAY. Here is a link to the completed auction, to get a look at the HELLBOY supplement. LINK Does anyone know the exact date of the CBG that it was featured in ? thanks, Jim.
  6. I was going through some long boxes lately and re-discovered this nice copy. It turns out I have a bunch of higher grade 9.0+ bronze age horror. Maybe I'll post a few here as I scan them. I'm going to post this in the GRADE MY BOOK section tomorrow.
  7. Could RICK STARR or maybe someone else possibly repost the CBG AD ? It would be cool to see.
  8. Hi Marty. I have a couple questions. What was it like back in the WWII years when they had the paper-drives ? Can you recollect any stories about comics being given to the war effort ? Also, what was it like in the mid-50's when the HORROR and CRIME comics were coming under fire. Any particular memories of the backlash against those type of comics ? I'm going to guess you were 7 years old in 1942 when you bought that first comic. Must be interesting to see how much the world has changed, especially how we communicate. Jeez, you were around when you dialed a phone and said "Central- gimme Northside 777". Nice to hear you never lost your love of collecting comics. I bet you wish you bought 20 copies of Amazing Fantasy # 15 for $2.40 and stashed them away somewhere. Ok, rambling on. BYE
  9. Yeah, it was a guy in New Jersey. Thanks for the info on the Windows7 trick.
  10. How do you make those screen grabs ? Those are some crazy prices. Weren't a bunch of these warehouse find issues ?
  11. "THE PIT OF THE DAMNED" I would buy it , then sell it here for $9.00 more than you paid for it. Two Coffins Reptiles A Spider Chained Female Bondage Undead Skeletons Female Undead Skeleton Skull Knife Ripped Shirt of Hero Creepy blue hands holding the trap door Spider Webs + yellow socks I'll pay TEN CENTS for this brand new on the stands !!!! I wish we could interview guys who bought this stuff when it came out.
  12. 6.0 IS high grade for that issue. It is my understanding there are no Harvey File copies of this issue for some reason. I've been looking for a high grade for 15+ years. Great pickup (thumbs u There are File Copies. It's probably a similar phenomenon to the Gaines copies of CSS 22. I mean, if you owned one would you want to sell? That sold for $750 in 2003. I wonder what it would go for now ? Think it would break 2000 dollars ?
  13. Could you tell us more about the collection you found , or have you posted about it elsewhere ? I love hearing those stories !!! I guess I could take a look at your posts to see if you've talked about it already.
  14. That's one of the tougher VOODOOs' to track down. COOL COVER !! I'd fork over a dime for that issue at the newsstand.
  15. I have a 1950's Ajax-Farrell published issue of SUPER CAT with ZERO staples. The cover fits snugly to the interior, but upon inspection the spine has NO HOLES nor does the interior spine. WEIRD !!! I'll take some pics of it and post them back here. It's a cool ERROR .
  16. Gator, what is your absolute FAVORITE small collection you've acquired, either by walking into your store(s) or a offered at a convention or you met the seller somewhere to view it. WHY and what was in it ? Just curious.
  17. It's a pretty good photoshop job if that's true. It might just be that the camera was focused on the Marvel Comics #1. And all the other books were not as sharp in the photo. I tend to agree with this. Where did you find the picture ? Online, or do you own the original copy ?
