  1. Have any of you seen the cover art to the newly released Southern Nightgown by Rothic Press?
  2. On the video he says his american Indian pottery collection is the best in the world ..5 million dollars worth....he says he does not want to make money but own more comics....meaning he wants more market share/ more control over prices..this is pretty plain here. There has to be an endgame plan.....what do you think it is? What I am wondering is why you actually purport to care? Seriously. He is not going to "corner" any market.....and even if he did---in your wildest imagination, let's say he really did. No one will care---I'm not sure what you don't understand about that. Have you ever heard of the law of unintended consequences?
  3. I love it when people think anyone can corner any market---it always ends badly.....just ask the Hunt Brothers and their endeavors "cornering" the silver market. I wish Chuck luck.....he can have every single key issue ever made, have them double boarded and bagged....then have them ready to go into the hole with him forever.....no one will care.
  4. Just purchased a bunch of books from him---terrific prices...the books arrived quite fast and they were all in the grades as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more books in the future!
  5. First things first; Kudos to you for being a class act through this trying time.....many others would not have been so patient or respectful. Do you have a receipt for the $200 you paid him? I certainly hope so if you paid him in cash. If you used your credit card, please be aware that you could have the charges reversed. If you paid him in cash, and you have a receipt, is it detailed or itemized for the sketch in question? Similarly to Revat's response, I would certainly align all of your facts, but to me, the most important info is the "paperwork" surrounding the transaction---IE receipt of any kind.... If you paid by credit card, I would simply have the charges reversed as you never received the product or service that you paid for and you needn't spend any more time on this situation.....
  6. Just received the books I purchased from Jerry---awesome! Everything arrived exactly as described and you couldn't ask for a more professional AND polite person. First class Boardie all the way! Count me in on your future sales as I would not hesitate at all to buy again!
  7. Bought some Moon Knight books from Jason and everything went as smooth as silk. The books were expertly packaged and arrived very quickly---on top of that, the grading was spot on! I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again! V.
  8. good advice, I'd put the over/under on 25 times someone has suggested that in this thread. Pretty sure there's a huge conspiracy in Canada, that comic stores won't pay such a motivated, business savvy, hygienic, non-temperamental, knowledgeable, experienced gentleman to stock comics and run a cashier at a comic book store. G(abe): Hi, I'd like to work at your comic book store. O(wner): Thanks for coming in, what books do you read? G: Mostly ASM 129 and Batman Adventures 12 O: No I mean what series are you reading now? G: Well I know Harley Quinn is hot. She's in a movie. O: Have you read the series? G: Not yet, I need to make some money before I can buy new comics. O: Well what are your hobbies? G: I like to buy hot comics and flip them for profit. I've been doing it for about 3 years. O: Well how much money have you made? G: -$1,100. O: Why do you have money to burn on old comics, but don't read new comics? What's the last full run or series you read? Graphic Novels are free at the library. G: I don't really like reading. Please buy my ASM 129 for 20% over market. And pay me $10 per hour to carry boxes and sort comics until I get tired, then pay me to rest for a few hours. I'm developing or rather have developed a strange addiction/attraction for this thread......can't stop watching the posts.....
  9. That buyer is completely bent.....not worth the hassle at all....
  10. Bought a nice stack of books from Jim for a surprisingly low price---so very pleased with the quality of them as well as his very good packing and fast shipping. On top of that, he is an excellent communicator---what more could you ask for? I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again---thanks again Jim! V.
  11. Purchased a few books from Robert---price was great, fast shipping and a fine packing job to ensure no carrier damage. I will surely buy again from him.
  12. Just concluded another excellent transaction with Revat. Books were very well graded once again---very pleased! I've bought a few times from him and each time has been smooth as silk---I get the books in the grades I want for a good price. Already looking forward to his next sale.
  13. It's happened to me a couple of times...both on the receiving end. In my experience, it's best to wait a couple of days, but it certainly doesn't hurt to call your local USPS (source of the delivery) branch and ask about it. Both times it was the USPS' fault. Regular person was on holidays and the fill-in person sent that same post; delivered in/at mailbox. I walked around the neighbors' homes thinking it was delivered to the wrong address...nope. I waited for a day.....then called the USPS, where they checked with the delivery person and they confirmed that they delivered it....then changed their story and said that it was delivered to my door. Yeah....no panic on my part there. After 2 more days of this junk, it was found that it was delivered to the parcel locker but the mail person didn't leave the key.....nice! Second time, the package was somehow left on the truck and it never got delivered....so it begs the question as to HOW they can say it was delivered it it wasn't. Regardless, they made a special delivery and I received my package promptly after that since both of these events happened within a 10 day period. Call the source branch tomorrow morning to start a trace....if problems persist, the Post Master General also has a web address for formal complaints and inquiries about missing packages, Best I can suggest---wish you good luck! V.
  14. Just purchased 2 slabbed books from Ryan---price was terrific, shipping was fast and he's very easy to deal with. I will surely buy again from him....
  15. I think we've reached a new level of " scum bucket on the boards ". The recent trendlines are frightening.....
  16. Yup. Prices seem unreasonably lofty for many books....but mainly so on Heritage. Obviously not sure why.....I was thinking it was a "catch-up" of sorts from previous auction prices.....IE latent price catch-ups from the January lull.....
  17. First time purchase with Jeff and the books arrived quickly, well packed (safe) and they were very well graded---I'll have no problem pulling trigger quickly on his next sale!
  18. Very pleased with my recent purchase from Revat---the books arrived quickly, safe and sound and were well graded. I will be buying from him again in the future--no problem at all!
  19. Just received my first two books from Dale and they were expertly graded and very well packed for shipment----I'm very pleased and will surely be watching for his next sale.
  20. Just received my books from Hector---they were very well packed and arrived in fantastic shape---I'm very impressed with his grading acumen. Count me in on your future sales sir!

I'll make this quite easy; I really wish all purveyors of comic lore went to his school of pricing, service, grading and packaging----it's truly amazing and is second to none.
  22. Just received mine and I have to say; what a great product! They came well packed and shipped fast.....my only thoughts are if I should buy another set of 5. Thanks again!
  23. I probably shouldn't chime in here as I'm a total newbie as well, but I really can't understand your rationale for going back on your word. Whatever cosmic events transpired to make you do so is on you and you alone. What is most puzzling to me is that I am more than cautiously optimistic that you've read numerous listings on here prior to signing up. Furthermore, I also think you found this approach to collecting a real refreshing take on this hobby, ergo you would not have signed up. This all leads me to absolutely believe that you knew exactly what you were doing, when you were doing it. I'm sure you've already figured out that there are no benevolent dictators marching around here dispensing justice as they fit; rather, you've been taken aside politely to try and get you to follow up on what you said you would originally do. I've already noticed how I am instantly taken at my word here (until proven otherwise of course) and I would challenge you to name another commercial venue that offers the same thing. Personally, I've done very little business on eBay since signing up on this site as I prefer to deal with honorable people. Only time will teach you this....that....and a whole load of dollars, time, hair...everything. Send a PM (Private Message) to the seller and make this right. If not, I hope you remember this email the next time you get savagely burned on eBay----because it's not a matter of if..... ---and if, after all of the messages imploring you to simply keep your word you choose otherwise, so be it. Enjoy the pit. V.
  24. Sounds like a great product! I'll take 5 for $32 shipped please..... Thank you. V.
  25. Greetings! I am very new to these Boards and thought it prudent to start a "Kudos" thread as I certainly intend to make some buys and sells from time to time. Please feel free to review any feedback and hopefully you will add your own. Thank you kindly, Mapleleafvann
