  1. Definitely #3 in my book. It's much earlier and Doc is at least as important in the Spidey mythos as the Goblin. But I love #14 of course as well. Is it so? If I recall correctly I paid double the price for my #3 compared to my #14, and they are both CGC 7.5 and I paid around GPA, within the same year.
  2. You have probably already done this, but if you haven't you should check out the Omnibus editions - they include at least the letters column and the bullpen bulletins which is a nice touch besides the stories. I only own the Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 butI have really enjoyed reading the stories through them.
  3. This is a big achievement, congratulations! What's next?
  4. If I ever manage to get really old, I will probably open my AF15 and some others of my slabs, enjoy them while eating pizza (ok, maybe not) and put them back in the box. My kids will be happy anyway to get them. Then if they want to get all geeky and start grading them by themselves again, good for them and their pockets .
  5. I really do appreciate this and its an awesome book. I am going for 7.5-8.0s for the higher valued Ditko books, but if you decide to part with it I would LOVE to try and find a way to destroy my budget and planning and try to get it from you.
  6. Beautiful book man. I would show it if I had it, but I still need one of these myself!
  7. The #13 that I got from HA some time ago arrived today. I was searching for a copy with so few things going on with the spine as possible but I didn't want to go for higher grades than 7.5-8.0. I am pretty happy with this one. I am actually in love with it . And the traditional family photo. I love Mysterio, it will be cool to see him starring in a movie if this is indeed going to happen.
  8. Thanks guys. The seller has it listed as VF, which is a bit of a stretch judging from the photos, but I was leaning towards a 7.0 from the few photos provided. I will go for it and hopefully post few more photos here if I manage to grab it.
  9. My mistake, sorry . Yep, that is probably the interior page (I don't have the book right now in my hands to confirm but you are most probably right). Not selling. At least not for a long time. Maybe after I complete my ASM run, which will take some good time, and if I decide to upgrade - then maybe.
  10. Thanks for the input and yes I am most probably leaving it alone, I like it as it. The thought just hit me today and thought getting some opinions from the massively accumulated expertise in here. By the way I think what you are referring to, showing on the top, is actually the edge of the back cover.
  11. It's my impression as well that this is a spine roll despite the note... But yes the staples would end up on the back cover and the left edge of the front cover would start right on the perimeter of the 12c circle. But this is anyway the most usual for this issue. Roy, would you have it fixed if this was your book? I am really hesitant sending in such a book and taking such a chance, but I would love to hear what you would do.
  12. Hey guys! I have this AF15 CGC 4.5. It looks pretty nice without MC, but I wonder if any work can be done to fix the issue with the spine roll? And is this something that would be worth the risk and expenses to do it? It would surely look nicer with a better wrap but I know nothing about the process, as I know also nothing about if this book has already been pressed or not. I don't mind keeping it as is and I don't have any plans on selling it, but if there is a chance to get it looking better in a safe manner, why not? What do you think? Grader notes are these: Center Front Cover Multiple Crease , Full Top Whole Book Wear, Interior Cover Tanning, Spine Readers Crease Breaks Color, Spine Stress Lines Breaks Color, Whole Book Mis-wrap. Here is the book:
  13. Hey guys! The title of my thread is actually misleading, since this is not my copy yet. But I am interested in grabbing it and these are the only photos I have to work with. I would really appreciate any opinions and hopefully I will get back with loads of more photos when I have the book in my hand if I manage to get it for a price I am feeling comfortable with under the circumstances. Thank you all in advance! Ioannis
  14. I purchased a higher grade ASM 6 from Kevin and I couldn't be happier. He was super responsive throughout the whole process, easy to work with, reliable and fast. His packaging skills are top notch as well. Thanks man!
  15. If you are planning to keep it on your wall and enjoy it, do just that. Keep it on your wall and enjoy it - it is as cool as it can get. If you -on the other hand- have plans to sell it, it would be probably best both for you and the future buyer to have it slabbed and have a widely respected certified opinion about the grade or potential restoration.
  16. Judging by your latest posts, you are better said now multiple mega grails owner
  17. Sweet looking book man, congrats and welcome to the club!
  18. My opinion: If we are talking about mega keys like ASM 1 and company, send them to get graded. You will make more $ for your books and the buyer will know what he is paying for. You can list them then along with raw smaller keys here on the boards or on eBay with a "Buy it now" price. So long someone pays your asking price, its totally irrelevant for you if he is a dealer or a "real collector".
  19. The Reece family has one of my favourite selling sites and they are awesome to work with. Alex is here on the boards (I wish I knew how to tag him) and he has always been extremely responsive, professional and kind in each and every communication we had. They work with you on pricing, shipping and any other condition of the sale. They add stock all the time and the "make an offer" option and check-out process work without a single flaw. https://reececomics.com
  20. When did pressing became chronologically a thing? Does having a book in an old-old CGC slab suggests or guarantees that is not pressed?
  21. Bob purchased a raw ASM 129 from me, paid immediately and provided a very friendly and prompt communication all the way around. Really what this community should be about!
  22. My #6 arrived and I just needed to take a family photo of my earliest issues. I now neeeeeed to find a 5. Or a 9. Or a 15. I would settle with a 7 or a nice 20 as well.
