I have just acquired a piece that teenage me would never have dreamed possible. Back in the mid-90's, I was collecting comics in earnest and of course the "bad girl" covers caught my eye. There was one cover though that I was particularly covetous of: Vengeance of Vampirella #1 Royal Blue foil variant. I was 14 and broke, so there was no way I could afford what comic shops were asking for it, even if I could find one (they supposedly only printed 100). So I lusted after it for years... When I started collecting comics again about 7 years ago, I finally tracked down a Royal Blue and had it graded. It came back as a CGC 9.0, but I wasn't satisfied. I bought another, and this one graded CGC 9.8 white pages. I also bought the more common Red, Green, and Gold covers so that I would have a complete set. Then the original art bug bit me, which has led to owning lots of wonderful Vampi art over the past few years. However, for me, this piece is THE GRAIL. I present to you the original cover art for Vengeance of Vampirella #1 with pencils by Joe Quesada and inks by Jimmy Palmiotti. I just opened the package this afternoon, and I still don't think it has completely sunk in yet. This is a dream come true almost 30 years in the making.

Vampirella #1 (Warren, 1969) - CGC 9.4 White Pages This is a solid 9.4 book and looks better than others I have seen for sale. I have owned about ten Vampirella #1's CGC graded 9.2, 9.0, and 8.5 as a point of reference. $15,000 or best offer First in the thread gets the book at asking price. Although I do take PayPal good and services, I would definitely rather take USPS Money Order or other fee-less methods, and I can provide references if needed. I am also possibly willing to meet on the East Coast for an in-person, cash deal. Overnight shipping in the USA is free. International shipping would be at your cost through registered mail. I just got this one back from CGC two weeks ago. It has some fortunate black marker on the front cover (Neal Adams signature) and some unfortunate red marker on the back cover (color touch "restoration"). You may see it on the market soon though.

So I thought I was done, but here is my new acquisition painted by Jose Gonzalez. It seems to be promo or foreign movie poster for the 1989 film 'Cleo/Leo'. My sign happens to be Leo, so I had to get it.

So the last Spanish artist piece (until I buy some more) in my collection is a recreation of Vampirella #1 by Sanjulian. How can you beat one master's tribute to another master?

This was a piece I commissioned from Enric back in 2018. I originally wanted him to do a recreation of the Vampirella #1 cover, but I learned that he usually does not do recreations of art he did not originally paint. Instead he took some of the elements from Vampirella #1 and created a unique piece. I love the result!

This is the first Sanjulian piece (and one of the first original art pieces) I ever bought.

Here is one I have posted elsewhere, but I will share again here. It is the Enric painted cover to Creepy #12 (Spanish version) from March 1980. This was also recently featured in the new Enric artbook too! Enric reportedly said this was not Vampirella, but in person, you can see paint corrections made to the bang and earring area. My personal theory was this was meant to be a Vampirella cover, but then was repurposed for Creepy.

Below is original art by Esteban Maroto from Zatanna: Come Together #2 page 16. This is the first time Zatanna uses magic without speaking spells backwards.
