  1. Just as a note for future cons, Captured Collectibles are a CGC facilitator, not the other grading service.
  2. Curious to see how they differentiate the JSA verified books from witnessed ones. I'd hate to see them go the route of a competitor and keep the same label for both...
  3. @StewartCA Captured Collectibles has been announced to be there via Indiana Comic Con's Instagram page.
  4. Looks like they're just starting to announce professional comic guests. From what I've seen in the ICC fan group on Facebook, there is still currently no one set to facilitates the show. Hopefully someone facilitates, because I was wanting to get a few sketches too.
  5. Captured Collectibles will be there. Rich Henn will also be there, if you're looking at sending in.
  6. This always happens to me. Makes me mad because the potential for theft. I've never had this problem with UPS or USPS... I would love the option for picking our preferred shipping method back.
  7. That means creators and reps will stop tacking on a CGC upcharge now that we can (once again) prove that signatures don't always add value to a book... Right? RIGHT?!? (This is sarcasm in case that's not obvious to everyone.)
  8. If it's a must have piece for your collection, I'd suggest asking the artist to hold the piece for you when/if it gets returned to them. Hopefully you'll still be able to get the piece, and have the money (actually) go to the artist.
  9. A bit off topic from what's currently being discussed, but with everything going on I'm reminded of another situation where I was disappointed in the service provided by Cadence. A few years ago I ordered a sketch cover commission from an artist that was a presale for a convention, but able to be shipped. I was impressed with the art they used to advertise the opp and was really excited to see what else they'd do with the character. After about a year of waiting for it to be shipped to CGC for grading, I asked for a photo of the art since I had waited so long. I was sent a photo of the exact art used in the announcement. I was disappointed because, while I liked the piece, I was expecting to get something made just for me. I didn't mind so much at the time, because the price of the "commission" wasn't much more than the headache of trying deal with it. (Knowing how their communication can be, I didn't think I'd get a response until after it was already shipped to CGC.) Thinking about it now, I'm just hoping the artists didn't get screwed out of any money for what was essentially a non-commission. I shouldn't have held my tongue, but I've just added it to the list of red flags to look for in future purchases. That being said, I ordered a page from 8 Billion Genies that made it to me fairly quickly. So, it's a 1/3 for satisfied transactions.
  10. I have been waiting a while to get this book signed by Barbara Eden. Thanks to Twin Cities Comics for facilitating this for me. She's going to be at a show near me sometime this year, so I'm hoping to find a higher grade copy to get sent in. That, or I may try to get this one pressed by someone other than CCS.
  11. Just got the images back from CGC on this one, and everything worked out in the end. The facilitator just forgot to write in the date on the paper form. I'll forgo attaching the new ones directly, since the art is the same. I'm curious to see if artist direct submissions will change in 2024 with CGC requiring an electronic form when sending books to facilitators for conventions. Regardless, I'm glad this got sorted out.
  12. I tried looking up the cert number and got the error "This item cannot be found." I believe that is typical for prints, photos, and the like since they aren't graded - only encapsulated. CGC has stated in the past, in the Ask CGC Forum, that only certain collectibles are added to the census. (Comics, Magazines, and possibly Lobby Cards.) You may need to contact the shop for the information you're looking for.
  13. Just curious, did you get on Collette's most recent commission list? I know I've seen a few sketch covers here on the boards but wasn't sure if you, or anyone that has posted her work before, got on her list. I missed out last year and figured I couldn't say no again.
  14. I have the same bok waiting to go. While I wouldn't have thought to have him sign the back, I think his signature fits well there since there's a lot of white space.
  15. I know that CGC themselves haven't been to this show since... 2017? Agents of Slabs was there a few years ago, but I don't see it under anyone's drop down box on the submission forms. This may sound weird with it only being 3 months away, but it may be too early for anyone to be decided if they're going. Guests just started getting announced, and I'm hoping they have quite a bit more to come.
