SOLD! Archie’s Girls Betty and Veronica #75 in apparent GVG but I have to give it a technical poor (incomplete) for a missing panel. Also, centerfold detached. That said, the story that makes this one of the big Silver Age keys of the Archie pantheon is fully intact — Betty and Veronica sell their souls to the devil. And yes, this one delivers. It’s not just a hype line in Overstreet. Bargain copy here — $25

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
Readcomix replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Probably right about Druid. I just figure Hulk 210 is a dirt cheap way to cover a longshot. He’s more of a mentalist anyway, plus it gives Disney the chance to do a beer-bellied superhero with a hipster beard. How do they pass that up??? -
How can I tell what printing of thundercats 1 I have?
Readcomix replied to oakenfelder's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Back cover ad differs too from first. 2nd says nothing in indicia; 3rd has “third printing” added to indicia. -
Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
Readcomix replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Sersi, Black Knight, Monica Rambeau, She-Hulk, Hercules…they are queuing up that whole era of Avengers…why not Starfox? Of course, the one I think we are all sleeping on is Dr Druid. Amazing Adventures 1 is still cheap for a book that precedes FF1 by 6 months. Sure it’s silver, but Dr Droom is first referred to as Dr Druid in the Bronze Age…Hulk 210 is still run-book cheap….. -

I just want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to see one of these! Piece o’ comic history there; thank you
-
Ok, I’ll sort them and morph the thread a bit wider to include Silver Archies @Norrin's lawyer @Treco @innocuous Thank you! Weird collection; also lots of Copper independents. Strange mix. I’ll see what belongs here besides the Archies.

Lots of late 50’s-early 60’s lower grade Archie titles and Casper in today’s collection. Will morph thread slightly if there is appetite for those. Otherwise they could be their own thread at another time.

Talk about renaming “X-Men” because it’s “Offensive”
Readcomix replied to Clay Johnson's topic in The Movie Forum
No argument here; total agreement. Just musing that it may or may not be the playbook that gets run. Like I said, interesting to see in time. Disney likes a good brand, after all. -

Readcomix replied to Clay Johnson's topic in The Movie Forum
Interesting. Stan wrote extensively in Son of Origins on how he originally intended to title the series The Mutants, but Martin Goodman nixed the name. Lee had clearly been playing with the idea for a while; in Tales of Suspense #6 there's a story titled "The Mutants" (Lee and Sinnott) about a couple guys with mental powers. Of course, the X-Men is a well-established brand by now. Will be interesting to see how Disney ultimately nets out on this. -

Did she offer alternatives? Are they bandying anything about? -

Okay, that’s everything I have planned. But I will do one more pass through my boxes in the a.m., and I’m meeting a guy at noon to look at a collection, so you never know. Stay tuned, we may or may not be done! Thanks to all lookers and takers!
