Why not? People do it all the time.

It may be true that most people do not turn a profit most of the time, but I can guarantee you that some do some of the time.

I make a full-time living at it myself.

I was referring to the investing part.

No doubt you can make a profit by flipping. Just don't run up the credit cards in the process

So for this type of stuff, do you give the comics to the insurance company for the full insured value? Or just the value of the comics before vs value after (and you keep the comics)?  Do they have a comic 'expert' come look?

    Good question

The seller did not use eBay shipping but used actual stamps and paid for delivery confirmation from the counter ... I never understand how people still use this time consuming method ... I guess some folks like going to the post office

    Those old habits die hard

    Yes, they are.

I don't see how ANYONE can really turn a good profit anymore. The fees are so high that you have to jack up the price just to break even. Any profit margin on comics is usually eaten up by eBay, PayPal, and shipping fees. It's depressing.

I can make a little bit on ebay - has to be a hot item though. It's almost like you have to be ahead of the curve.

Works both ways - as a buyer I get hella deals on ebay auctions
