  1. A man killed himself. Aren’t we all issuing opinions at this point?
  2. Still waiting on your reply. For someone who is so willing to give his opinion on others, you’re quite reluctant to explain yourself or justify your beliefs. I find this attitude quite on par with this topic of discussion in fact
  3. @RockMyAmadeus Please elaborate on what part of my post was confusing to you? I would find your feedback very interesting.
  4. Rest in Peace, Mr. Ed Piskor You will be missed. I’ve read this thread, and although I don’t agree with everyone’s opinions, I am happy we are talking about this, because it needs to be talked about. I think we can all agree that there were a series of bad choices. Whether our own personal beliefs may differ, this is just a tragic ending to a huge cultural influencer. I liked Ed. Do I think some of the allegations were creepy? Yes. If you are 37 years old and hitting on a 17 year old, that’s a shady, gross thing to do, whether or not it’s illegal… don’t do it. No good comes of that decision. From what I know however, he did not forcibly have *** with anyone. Did he solicit sexual favours? Awful thing to do. From my perspective, you come across as a: (any derogatory term here will do). As a father, my response would be more vicious. Now, these are allegations, are they not? I understand why people distanced themselves, including Jim Rugg. At least temporarily. I hate to say it, because so much of me wants to put blame on people, and I think there were many series of bad choices, a chain reaction, from everyone involved. There is no right here. This is just sad. A sad and tragic ending to something and someone I truly enjoyed being connected with (in our 21st century way). That’s it. We now live in a world where actions can have serious consequences, and those consequences can be unbalanced. Rest In Peace, Cartoonist Kayfabe
  5. Dear Saga, It's been a wild ride. I just completed Volume 11 (Chapters 61 to 66) and I regret to say, I will be getting off at this stop. I owe a lot to Saga. Saga, in fact, was the comic book series that brought me back into comics, after dropping the hobby when I was a teenager. 15 years later, I walked into a dingy comic book store at 9:30 at night on a random Tuesday to kill time until my pizza was ready. I bought an issue of Saga on the owner's recommendation. 11 years ago... I've said this many times, to friends, family, and even on this specific forum thread... Saga is awesome. I owe a lot to Saga. It reignited my drive to write. I'm not very good, but Brian K Vaughan's ability to create real, compelling characters with Fiona Staples' organic storytelling is a knockout combination that inspires me to keep pushing my creativity. It also kept me reading comics. I still believe to this day that Saga issues (or rather, chapters) 1 to 18 is some of the best storytelling on paper. Period. If you gave anyone on the street the first 3 trades, you would have converted them into a comic reader, even if they don't appreciate comic books. It's that good. Sadly, nothing this great lasts forever. It wasn't a sharp drop off for me either. Saga didn't take a radical turn, jumping the shark or committing creative suicide. I think, as is the point of "Saga", potentially, is that as readers connect emotionally to characters, and as those connections get severed through deaths or the changing of story tides, it emphasizes how critical it is to develop stronger bonds with the relationships that remain, or with new ones that are meant to be formed. And this is my love letter to Saga. Saga did something in a way that rarely ever happens for me, in any art form, cinema, literature, etc... Saga got me to feel, so much so that I wanted to live with these characters. I wanted to grow with them. I bonded with them. I bonded with Marko, Alana, Izabel, Hazel, Barr, The Will (at the beginning), and The Brand, to name a few. Saga showed me how powerful those bonds can be and how much of a gift that is. In the flood of content that is shoved down our throats through television, movies, social media, video games... Saga stood out to me as a pure and beautiful experience. As I attempt to write my own Saga, I am reminded how important it is to write characters that people feel, and want to stay feeling with. That is a gift. I thank Saga for that. I get off this ride because Saga is in a place now that isn't for me, and that's okay. I decided that I don't want to write about that side of the journey. I would like to instead, focus on the beauty that Saga was for me. I encourage anyone who has yet to read this epic tale to grab the first 18 issues and prove me wrong. I truly believe anyone who starts reading will stay glued to those pages, without regret. That is a journey I think I may revisit...
  6. I think this offering isn’t necessary. If this isn’t a money grab then let’s hear the thoughts on this. If they just wanted to provide a new service, then they should keep it under the green label with the term: verified signature ______ But precisely to everyone’s points, they will want to add a new color or banner, to promote this new service. It’s fine if you are for or against this offering, I just have a hard time understanding why they would bother with a service that contradicts the name CGuarantyC. There is no guarantee on signature verification.
  7. The topic I created was for any sig series stories, but mine just happened to be about Byrne. If you have any sort of con sig stories, I’d love to hear them
  8. Genuinely good topic of discussion gets derailed again by typical boardie nonsense. Glad to see the CGC toxicity of long term boardies are still in effect.
  9. Although I never understood the whole, Guns guns and more guns with a character that is essentially magic based… But this cover, and the sketch cover in particular, is absolutely breathtaking.
  10. This is sad news for sure. He was a legend and a true entertainer. Loved seeing his work.
  11. Wow, I had no idea this happened in Spawn, and truly, not all that long ago. What a low point. Not having read these issues, but this just seems like the lowest of the low for Spawn. Almost sad. He limped to 300... with stumps for limbs.
  12. CGC does not have the authority for DC labels unfortunately. I don't work for CGC, or have any insights on why that would be, however, I can speculate that, for whatever reason, DC is difficult with their licensing. I know this because DC killed and by virtue, annihilated all progress on AEs (Artist Edition works). Both IDW and Graphitti Designs had communicated road blocks they experienced while trying to push through (previously approved) works that they had significant investments on. Now, that has since changed, only within the past several months. AEs that were shelved for literally years, were all miraculously green lit... so now if that trickles over to CGC getting authority for DC labels? I mean... seems possible. Sorry for the long winded answer.
