  1. Were those who sell comics concerned the past few years with buyers paying high prices for something that might (now has in general) drop in value, even though the sellers claimed "unlimited upwards trajectory" and other used car salesmen BS? The answer is no. No Comic Book/Art seller I've ever encountered has shown even a modicum of future financial concern for a buyer and I for one simply reciprocate their own sentiment. The real true difference is my hoping prices free fall merely exists inside my own self-admitted tiny brain - no one is actually hurt fiscally by that! All sellers, flippers, speculators, who have used exaggeration, hyperbole, and or damnable lies without remorse have affected numerous people fiscally, as buyers are nothing more than rubes or marks, right? Many of these sellers have even bragged about their overpriced priced sales on this forum.
  2. as well time for the Buh Buh Buh's to commence Buh Buh Buh gocollect said it was undervalued, Buh Buh Buh insert name of instragram/facebook/youtube hyperbolist said it was a good investment, Buh Buh Buh a boards.cgccomics.com member said it had unlimited upwards trajectory potential. I myself witnessed 2 sales of ASM 361 Direct Sale 9.8w at 2021 NYCC for 2k even though it was on eBay with Buy-it-now's for $1000-1200 at the time. To all potential buyers, from a seller standpoint; a rube is a rube, a mark ain't nothing more than a mark. I do not sell comics as I've mentioned ad infinitum, so hell YES Bring On The Bear! Bring it on the point where even the market manipulators fail at every attempt - Yeah I know wishful thinking
  3. In 2021 PSA purchased a firm for certain tech processes and patents that will allow them to identify re-submits. They claim the prime reason is to detect cards cracked out that have then been trimmed and re-subbed thus impeding the PWCC w/Gary "Scissor Hands" Moser business model, as those in the know, know Not sure CGC needs to allocate coin on something like that just for ASM 238? Given how stingy Blackrock is it certainly won't happen. Perhaps for true cred; CGC just stop assigning blue-labels to the cover less+ missing pages Master of the Universe preview's or even better start up an actual team performing Q/C again.
  4. Yep, he ran back to Albert as fast as his feet carried him. Lucky it was purchased from Albert as there were at least 4 Art Dealers present at the 2021 NYCC who would not have issued a refund - plus some bro's who would have insisted (LIED) it was a 1985 "alternate variant cover" or some such hogwash rather than a 2016 commission.
  5. I will attempt to find out more about the 2 I was shown - perhaps just an anti-cgc "tall-tale" by the individual?
  6. Over time the thin layer of adhesive under the thin/narrow top label dries out and the strip curls up then falls off. It's easy enough to re-adhere using Best-Test Acid Free Natural Rubber Latex Paper Cement but only if you still have the label Probably the single greatest innovation of the "new" CGC slabs is that the top label strip is now sealed in the case. I always keep a metal can around of Best-Test for Original Comic Art stats that fall off as well as for the older slab CGC top label strips.
  7. Yep, and very high odds not pressed when dealing with the early cert numbers. Not to mention nary a Newton Ring to be found. Once caveat; if not buying in person make sure to inquire if top of the slab label is intact!
  8. Here's a recent United Parcel Service epic which had a happy ending despite UPS best efforts to the contrary; https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/13255768
  9. I know of at least 2 copies personally where they have not spotted it. But yeah I do agree if the tattooz was originally removed haphazardly. Seems to me risk worth the reward especially on a 9.8.
  10. I feel it's the prime reason 238 green labels sell at the levels they do. Most purchasers are doing just that.
  11. Yep, grab a 9.6 or 9.8 crack it out then insert a tatooz from a FF252 (or some copies of; Marvel Tales 149, GI Joe 9) then resubmit. It's farcical! What i want know is why a 238 submitter bothers to send it to CGC without adding another tatooz first? Carelessness in not seeing it was missing? Laziness? Lack of Knowledge??
  12. My opinion is the envelope insert is required but the tatooz itself is not. I believe that is how Overstreet had it. What I find entirely mind boggling is someone can rip away/tear off the Cover and nearly all the pages from a book like JLA 208 or Daring New Adventures of Supergirl 1 leaving just the interior pages that contain the Masters of The Universe story and CGC gladly slaps a blue label on that. Then a book like ASM 238 gets the green label for missing a tiny half inch loose sticker (the tatooz itself) that may or may not have ever been in the book in the first place. The complete and utter lack of congruence IMHO falls into the category of surely CGC knows better, but does whatever they want if it brings in a mere penny or 2.
  13. If you are saying, one size does not fit all, I certainly agree.
  14. Bezos will need look out when my Archie art coin starts flowing in.
  15. I bet many FF252s are missing the tatooz and easy to speculate where most have gone
  16. The perception to the folks there probably came off as humble bragging if not out right bragging. While on these forums those same books while very cool are "old hat". Here it might take an Action 1, Detective 27, Marvel Comics 1, Whiz 2 or possibly a More Fun 52, All-Star 8 or Captain America Comics 1 level book to even come close to those sub-reddit reactions. 5-6 years back on a old film type forum I mentioned I had picked up what at the time was a $649 Blu-ray transport. The comments i received bled venom about me being some wealthy braggart. The same type mention on an Audio/Video-file forum the comments pitied me for only going for entry level gear. All boils down to, as @ExNihilomentioned, "Know thy audience". P.S. that $649 player became sought after a few year later and for while commanded $1500-$1800 used.
  17. I'm generally happy with the USPS, but yeah the sign for you can be troublesome. In Nov they did that to me on a 5 figure registered mail package coming back from CGC. All was fine but i walked down and spoke with my Postmaster. Now they hold every signature required of mine at my local Post Office. It works for me, YMMV
  18. E.T. close resemblance to H.E.R.B.I.E. H.E.R.B.I.E. 1978 E.T. 1982
  19. In 30 years of receiving shipped items I've never had any lost or any major issue from USPS. Every time I've had a major issue or lost items it's been Fedex or UPS. My opinion yet another slap in the face from CGC.
