  1. ^ They really do leave paw-prints on our hearts. May you take solace in the good memories.
  2. If the case, then a true claim might be zero inflation effects on that dime. As it can purchase the same item in 1938 and in 2024
  3. My Cardy Cover Kick continues - filled in some holes with 2nd Gen Slab Goodness! Very Strong 9.6's. I'm positive the minor issue with #1 would press out and about 80% sure same for #3.
  4. Wow it's been nearly 16 months without a post to this thread. 2nd Gen Slab goodness
  5. Got a second chance and did not waste it, landed my White Whale Love the Garcia-Lopez penciled cover and recall as if it was yesterday finding this digest at a local market and reading it. P.S. Looks to me that Batman's eyes are straying just a tad to his downward left This was a Vane book and I just missed it in Spring of 2016
  6. Watched the first 2, did not dislike it, but seemed all potatoes no meat. Overall I'm Switzerland on this one.
  7. While an unpopular opinion with many "old-timers", Overstreet has been most irrelevant for 2+ decades as a price guide. A good source of info for those willing to mine it, most certainly, but as price guide for all but obscure books its worthless IMHO. I do recommend those new to the hobby get one and read through it - over and over - but to ignore the prices. Now for the old-timer fist to the clouder's to express their ire P.S. My first Overstreet was 1982 I continued to purchase it every year up to and including 2022. I simply have no need for it anymore.
  8. You too could be correct, I too will not be here to see
  9. Another Christmas Season release this time from 1982, a digest I recall well - specifically for the new Kubert back cover:
  10. Brings me back to XMAS Season 1981 Acquired a few copies over the years this is my latest and will be my last - It wont get any better than a Rosa Pedigree and 2nd gen slab for this book!
  11. Thanks to those who revived (and of course started) this thread! It inspired me to order a bunch of Itoya's and start planning/prepping to build a nice casing for them.
  12. As collector not seller I'd love to see that but with one-of-kind stuff that type of contraction is a near impossibility at least for remainder of this century. P.S. Above refers only to mainstream original comic art used for publication, not for other segments of the OA hobby.
  13. In front of me at the moment I have 100+ Comics art pages in mylars in flat file cabinet. I could double or triple that in the exact same footprint. Can't do that with slabs nor bagged and boarded comics. The "thinness" and the pretty much non-condition sensitivity of Original Art is huge selling point for those in which space is a premium.
  14. On the whole published material will likely have the most legs
  15. For Paper; The Vatican Secret Archives in Rome is THE place. If you somehow lack the proper Contacts and must accept a substitute, go with Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado or the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway.
  16. ^IMHO Piece by Piece Basis, and all things Artist and page significance wise Marvel is the sounds investment, even if the the heart for some lies with DC
  17. Before pics on cgc site differ from the after pics as received by customer. The onus is on CGC to validate slab has not been tampered with then as CGC was the shipping party, file claim with Shipping Enity for the damage.
  18. What you postulate will eventually occur but I think you are looking at double that time table at bare minimum. Don't underestimate the longevity of protection pricing and that woudl kick in first. In addition published original art supply will always equal 1 thus not too much on the demand side required. As for tulip mania, Comic Art not even close. Apologies for being blunt but that analogy could not be further from the reality. P.S. I heard similar theories circa 1999-2004 when OA first really started to expand.
  19. I don't know CA geography that well but I can assure you there are no OA experts in San Mateo
  20. Nice! IMHO he went all out for you artistically. Now you know the artist is total buzzkill at a party
  21. Tis the amount of junk food per Capita Anyone whining about the higher cost of McDonalds is someone who probs has issues with basic math - aka 90% of the population. BTW I don't eat anything even resembling fast food
  22. Raven, Starfire. Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, in that exact order.
