  1. Bank vault for expensive books I can't remember if there has ever even been a bank vault safety deposit box robbery in my whole life time. Probably not.....just in movies.
  2. Looking forward to pass Halloween with my young niece!! Then coming back home out of the cold to start a nice warm chili in my crock pot hmmmm!!

    Beckett

I imagine their Beckett's cases will be very solid and not likely to have minor cracks in it when handle like some of the older CGC cases have. This is a very good thing for us OCD people.

    Beckett

I have much respect for Beckett's sports card holders will be cool to see the ones for comic books!! I prefer Beckett holders over PSA but PSA graded cards still sell for more money.
  5. Must be a dealer who is trying to flip it. A true collector will very rarely sell that fast unless something bad happened in their life shortly after buying it and they need the funds. Just curious can Heritage buy a book and then sell it threw their own auction house and if the book does not sell for a profit simply put it aside for a later date?
  6. 5 -10 years from now you will most likely see a huge amount of young Asians that grew up with the movies and still follow them get into collecting the heroes they enjoy.
  7. Blah blah blah.....Spidey will do just fine like any other major key comic book over time. I said their buying potential is likely to start in 5 to 10 years from now. Most where very young when they started watching the ''beginning'' of superhero movies 10 years ago. By the time they start working and buying stuff they enjoy it will still take about 10 years. China is only 1 nation!!
  8. Darkness imprisons me all that I see all that I live is chaos!! Are you the wolf of Wall Street by any chance hahaha!!
  9. Not single China man he says hahahaha good lord you must know all 2 billion of them personally. The world revolves around the U.S not so much anymore and that will continue to change.
  10. The idea that Westerners will always be the key market for comic books is unfounded. Comic books and superheroes have such huge potential around the globe. That is what I am getting at.
  11. Like any other nation they are already into some of that. Nothing new there. But the coming of age of the young people who started watching the superhero movies over a decade ago can't be ignored. Once they hit the age of working and making decent incomes they can change the ''whole'' collectors base in one single generation.
  12. Exactly the young kids that grew up on them are getting older and will soon be joining the work force in China and when their pay checks start rolling in then they might just change the whole dynamics of the comic book collecting world.
  13. Movies can change all this even in a short time span. Never doubt the power of 2 billion people in one single nation. Chinese love art and stuff similar to comic books they just need to have a change of hearth and you could see a massive amount of new collectors....if this is not already happening on a slower pace. Batman and Spidey are easily lovable!! So are a few others.
  14. Yeah 2 billion Chinese and not even any...seriously!! Even if it is 20 000 that get into vintage (and that is very low for the amount of population they have) that can easily change things.
  15. China Is Getting its Very Own Comic Con http://time.com/3740455/comic-con-china/ And likely the 1st of many many more to come!!
  16. For now. Things can always change and the global market can easily change that over time.
  17. Shanghai Comic Convention: China is the new frontier for con organizers http://herocomplex.latimes.com/fans/shanghai-comic-convention-china-is-the-new-frontier-for-con-organizers/
  18. Yeah no other people except Westerners enjoy comic books (now and in the future)....lollll!!
  19. 101 indeed!! No advanced class would offer such a course with the info we are been provided.
  20. Yeah sure not a single Asian (no Canadians either I must be unique) is into superheroes give me a break. Even if a small percentage of people in China get into collecting comics that is still a huge amount of people and again that is one single nation. You just like seen the world crumble. You seem to get a high out of it or maybe you make money off of it. Like Alfred said about the Joker....''some people just like to see the world burn''. You are so limited in your analysis it's unbelievable. As if you know what every single human is doing just based on a few stats that you provide and throw at us. And based on what others have said here you have been like this for years must be a real joy to be around in real life. Your so called ''thesis'' would not stand the test even in the worst of universities (the links you try to make have not been proven at all they are just your simple theory....nothing more nothing less). You put so many people in the same basket with just a few variables it is ridiculous. And the worst is it is dogma to you and you want us to buy into it. You may be a educated man but these things you take for certainties without doing a real profound examination (I don't think it would be even possible since people have changes of heart every single day in what they do as far as hobbies go) of the whole comic book world and what that world realize on to survive simply has no base value whatsoever. It's like me telling say Gator how the market is doing and not doing at conventions or other such venues where he sells books at. It would be only a so called ''calculated'' guess at best versus his real life experience on the floor (face to face) with collectors for so many years. It would make no sens at all if I did that and certainly would not be dogma to be followed blindly. Reality wins over such theories any day of the week.
  21. Your limited analysis only takes into account parts of the U.S equation (the U.S is no longer the whole world there are tons of people outside the U.S that collect as well). You seem to forget comic books and superheros are now a global thing unlike even a decade ago (the movies have changed it). So if the U.S markets don't do good and certain other variables tank for a little while the global collectors will still be buying up key material. China alone could easily absorb all AF15's. Maybe they are only staring to collect but once it becomes a thing over there watch out!! And that is only one other nation. Here in Canada lots of people have good incomes and are collectors and can and do buy expensive stuff. The U.S owes China a massive amount of debt so let them pay it and let the Chinese use those funds on what they enjoy. As a collector it really does not matter to me what country slows it's collecting habits down for a while as long as there is another one to pick up the pace when that happens (and that is very much likely now that this hobby if gaining momentum worldwide each and every single year). Don't get me wrong I don't want to see people suffer when their countries have major economic slow downs but it happens regardless of what I feel. It is very sad seen the poor suffer while the rich still enjoy life. The U.S economy is no longer the key factor for a whole lot of people worldwide. Of course some countries are ultra dependent on the U.S but some will strive even if they U.S is having a financial so called meltdown (witch they always seem to come back from anyway).
