  1. Yes and the AF15 market would have also died a long time ago.
  2. The end is Nye!! Let's all rush to sell!! Sell, sell and sell!! The comic book prophecies have been foretold the signs of the end are here!! The Beast of Revelations has shown it's head!!
  3. Boring (I have a master's degree in sociology and find this boring imagine that.....I never thought I would feel this again after 6 years of reading the stuff of darkness at university....thank the Lord for comic books they save people while the rest of the world tries to crush peoples souls with their God awful reading material)!! All the world is daaaark everywhere I look I see the aaaabyss....it's so lonely I could just lose my mind!! Should have wrote a PHD but no one was listening I feel so lonely!! Darkness is my only friend....my only companion!!
  4. He is like a black hole. Loves to paint the world that way.
  5. I don't see a problem with this maybe they just prefer reading the older material. The newer stuff is not that great. And why would a new collector want to start reading a series when that series is 500 issues in if not more. Look at Comic Cons they are breaking records every year in attendance. People are buying books. The movies are doing great at the box offices and toy sales are sky high and same can be said with clothes featuring superheroes. 10-15 years ago I bet you all these things where not such a huge market. Things change so do what people focus on. If they prefer toys and movies over brand new comic books hey what is the problem with that. If they truly like superheroes they will benefit more buying the older stuff anyway.
  6. The internet (Ebay and so on), conventions and auction houses have taken over a long time ago. So LCS don't count much anymore at all. Unless it is one of those top stores where they keep all the good stuff from the GA and SA. I never buy anything at LCS stores simply because they don't have anything I want. All they have is a few SA non keys and BA (mostly all common stuff in bins) and newer stuff I could care less about. Same goes for local sports card shops most only have garbage I and most collectors could care less about that is why they almost all closed. People find all they need threw the venues I specified above and don't even have to leave there house in most cases anymore. Or the owner will say I will locate the book for you or the card and he will charge you 10% to 20% for finding on the internet or whatever. Mine as well just buy it yourself. It's part of capitalism stores close and new venues open based on demand. They are a cool venue when you are a young collector or a teenager but as you age and your needs become more and more specific LCS in most cases simply suck!! But they are a good starting point for young collectors if those kids or adults don't know any better.
  7. But it is doing just fine and has survived and grown not like a lot of other hobbies over that time period.
  8. All is going to fall except TEC comics when Armageddon arrives because the Lord loves his Batman!!
  9. And for 50 years comic book collecting has survived and is doing well.
  10. As long as we are talking AF15 what is the problem?
  11. Do you have passion for stocks like you do for comic books?
  12. I guess you know them all personally and they have told you all this. That they do this like buying stock.
  13. OK people let's here it from collectors here when you purchased your AF15 was it for financial gains or because you love Spidey or for both? I know for myself it was for both. If I had no love for Spidey I would have not purchased a AF15. There are plenty of books I could have purchased with zero love for and only for the money but those books I pass on because they don't make me happy as a collector.
  14. One collector he has the right to do what he wants. Maybe he loves the intense passion felling then once that is gone let's go and moves on nothing wrong with that it happens every day in peoples lives.
  15. The billionaire who purchased the 2 AC1 9.0's loves Superman. He and many other people who spend big money have a passion for comics and probably don't have any when they buy and sell stock (so boring).
  16. You just contradicted yourself he flipped it for another so he did stick with AF15.
  17. Ah the old age true collector versus the not. Come to grips with the grading companies they are helping preserve the books over time. Now unlike years ago you can buy reprints and read them. You think someone that spends that kind of money does not enjoy Spidey come on.
  18. Stocks are not purchased with emotion and love like our dear comic book hobby. Big difference on how people go about it. The love and passion we collectors have for or heroes will endure.
