Best way to get sigs at small conventions..?
Monstertruck97 replied to dbcn's topic in The Signature Room
Okay, always understood you needed both a facilitator and a witness. If you only need a witness, which you suggest, how does one find one for say Upstate New York for example. Is there a list somewhere? -

No you can't just sign up to be a facilitator. A lot more complicated than that. Just take a photo or video of the item being signed. Much better in my opinion than a witness and you save money. I will be at Fandomfest NY. -

Strawberry has been eligible for the first 5 years since 2004 and this year will be his first on the Contempory ballot and he has literally a zero percent chance of getting into the Hall of Fame.

I have never seen a private signing run in this fashion and I spent three years working for the guy who did this signing. The signing must have been bigger and OPix just got a small amount to offer to the public. If he did one signing, I am sure there will be another and that will fudge up Mr. Pence's amazing one of a kind book.

CGC In House Signing Wishlist - Update for 2023
Monstertruck97 replied to StillOnly25Cents's topic in The Signature Room
From what I hear, the last convention (NYCC) was 2017. It was announced by NYCC that it was his last ever public autograph appearence and he clarified that this was not true, yet he hasn't had one since. I have inquired over the next few years about Hamill doing a private but he just doesn't seem interested in doing one. He was $295 per at that signing if I remember correctly. -

Anyone know when the Josh Brolin signing is?
Monstertruck97 replied to ComicGeek33's topic in The Signature Room
Usually they crank everything out at once and since Josh is doing a GalaxyCon signing where orders are due the 27th of November, perhaps that is an indication of some sorts to perhaps an approximation to when a signing will be done. With these Hollywood celebs, and based on a facilitator I know keeping sales open longer with a TBD Signing date, signings are often postponef because of acting duties. -

How much do you want Stan Lee's signature on your comics?
Monstertruck97 replied to rfhbv100's topic in Comics General
Yes, far from rare (I have over 100 books signed by Stan) but there will always be demand for these books and his signed comic books have increased nicely over the last few years and watching prices of late, not quite slowing down. All of my collecting friends thought I was crazy to get books signed, but a long time collector and friend who hates signed comics broke down a few months ago and paid handsomely for a signed book because Stan just meant so much to this hobby he felt he needed at least one for his collection. -

I am unsure why you put a "!" after "misdirected sarcasm". I was giving you an honest answer as I have been in the sports autograph business fulltime in a multitude of occupations and that's my area of expertise, 36 years now. In saying that, Tiger Woods stopped signing golf balls in college becauae he didn't like the way they looked and those signatures differ from the ones now (thin red ink and fetch about a grand). He wouldn't even sign them for Upper Deck who he is under contract with. His old caddie couldn't get him to sign one for a family member. As far as Nicklaus goes, he suprisingly still signs his fan mail. He has a lot of rules and it takes a while, but you can get an authentic signature from him through the mail.
