  1. Wow. Just wow. And that's all he sells and he got them all himself in person in Boston.
  2. Okay, always understood you needed both a facilitator and a witness. If you only need a witness, which you suggest, how does one find one for say Upstate New York for example. Is there a list somewhere?
  3. No you can't just sign up to be a facilitator. A lot more complicated than that. Just take a photo or video of the item being signed. Much better in my opinion than a witness and you save money. I will be at Fandomfest NY.
  4. Strawberry has been eligible for the first 5 years since 2004 and this year will be his first on the Contempory ballot and he has literally a zero percent chance of getting into the Hall of Fame.
  5. I have never seen a private signing run in this fashion and I spent three years working for the guy who did this signing. The signing must have been bigger and OPix just got a small amount to offer to the public. If he did one signing, I am sure there will be another and that will fudge up Mr. Pence's amazing one of a kind book.
  6. I saw how limited the Official Pix signing was with Clint Eastwood (and all the rules, if I read correctly, you could only get comic books signed if the first two phases didn't sell out, not sure CGC) and was wondering if anyone caught what the price was for this signing. Thanks! Dan
  7. From what I hear, the last convention (NYCC) was 2017. It was announced by NYCC that it was his last ever public autograph appearence and he clarified that this was not true, yet he hasn't had one since. I have inquired over the next few years about Hamill doing a private but he just doesn't seem interested in doing one. He was $295 per at that signing if I remember correctly.
  8. Twin Cities is taking orders for Samuel L. Jackson for next year witj th CGC option. Possible CGC gets in on it. https://twincitiescomics.com/product/samuel-l-jackson-autograph-send-in/
  9. Usually they crank everything out at once and since Josh is doing a GalaxyCon signing where orders are due the 27th of November, perhaps that is an indication of some sorts to perhaps an approximation to when a signing will be done. With these Hollywood celebs, and based on a facilitator I know keeping sales open longer with a TBD Signing date, signings are often postponef because of acting duties.
  10. Yes, far from rare (I have over 100 books signed by Stan) but there will always be demand for these books and his signed comic books have increased nicely over the last few years and watching prices of late, not quite slowing down. All of my collecting friends thought I was crazy to get books signed, but a long time collector and friend who hates signed comics broke down a few months ago and paid handsomely for a signed book because Stan just meant so much to this hobby he felt he needed at least one for his collection.
  11. I am rarely envious, but that Gosling is just downright amazing. Bravo sir!
  12. I am unsure why you put a "!" after "misdirected sarcasm". I was giving you an honest answer as I have been in the sports autograph business fulltime in a multitude of occupations and that's my area of expertise, 36 years now. In saying that, Tiger Woods stopped signing golf balls in college becauae he didn't like the way they looked and those signatures differ from the ones now (thin red ink and fetch about a grand). He wouldn't even sign them for Upper Deck who he is under contract with. His old caddie couldn't get him to sign one for a family member. As far as Nicklaus goes, he suprisingly still signs his fan mail. He has a lot of rules and it takes a while, but you can get an authentic signature from him through the mail.
  13. Zero percent. Jordan has always been pretty much impossible. The very definition of unrealistic. He used to sign a little at golf courses way back, but he is well aware the value of his signature (valued in the thousands) and has never done a private or public signing (may still be exclusive with Upper Deck) and if he ever did (not like he needs the money), I am sure his asking price for his signature would be astronomical.
  14. It's a concern of mine as well, but it is an imperfect system overall. Since CGC seemingly seldom does shows anymore, therefore it's essentially the only way. Even when they did shows, there were at times I thought there were so many ways to deceive the process as the witness was not present when he should (walked off while he should be witnessing) or leading so many folks in a group that I could have switched up items or added to my pile. As long as we trust these folks, we shouldn't doubt them until we find a reason to mistrust them and then we start a thread. And bother CGC Mike some more. We should send CGC Mike something for all of this. Maybe a gift basket with an assortment of hot sauces, jams, dried fruit and cheeses. Of course the gift basket will be wrapped likely in a cellophane which will sort of resemble an acetate covering to protect all the items.
  15. With all due respect in regards to Stan Lee, that decision is fact wise. The yellow label program and witnessing the signed items work. While he may have signed a million signatures, there are three million forgeries out there, including ones with phony Stan Lee LOA's and authentic LOA's attached to phony items as his signature in all of his stages is quite simple to duplicate. I know some sellers who have sold thousands of fake signed books worth nothing and sold them off at $20-40 per with a signature on it. Heck, signed books purchased at the booths of artists who aren't present get the green label.
  16. What about all the ones on eBay that have a blank cover atop the sketch cover? There are a dozen or so up on the site now from different vendors. Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/393798124094 I even have a few. Those couldn't be all done by the fellow boardie as they are all rather recent. Could they have been manufactured that way? Again, thanks much.
  17. Not Supergirl. Actually, The Simpsons. There is one blank, a #230 but haven't seen one up for sale ever. I suspect those blank comic books will get the NG tag. Truly appreciate your input. Ah, thanks so much. That is my answer. But added after manufacturing? I also don't want to hear about anything being added "after manufacturing" as well. 😊 Great sketch by the way! 👍
  18. @Yorick You mean just get things slabbed with NG, as designated as ART on a board? Want to keep things comic book related and don't possess anything outside of sketch covers. When I see or hear the word "acetate", I now cringe a little. 😃
  19. I am beginning a project with an artist and the subject isn't represented in a blank sketch comic. I don't like getting sketches on blanks that aren't related to the art so was wondering if anyone has ever gotten sketches on the blank paper cover of the blank sketch comic? How would CGC grade it? Any examples? Thanks!
  20. While pen color is an annoyance for me as well, the celebrities signature is my top pet peeve. I detest scribbles or first name signatures. You have a last name, sign that! Whether you are Charisma Carpenter, Brie Larson or Lupita N'Yongo, I am paying for a complete name! I dated a Charisma once, did she sign it? Brie could be someone naming off their favorite cheese on my book. And what is that Howard Chaykin? A half of a first letter of the first initial of your first name? I too research the signature ahead of time and I will pass on ownership of a signature if that's the nonsense you want to give me.
