hi after months (years?) of pandemic, i intend to finally go the next big apple con in march in NY...i'm coming from france, but i wonder if it's worth the trip, because i come mostly to see artists (don't care about actors or cosplay), and on their page, it seems that there will be almost no one there (maybe esad ribic, jamla igle, russ braun, and i think that's all that's been annouced so far) it seems to me that the prvious years, there were dzens of top artists at that convention, so is it because they announce the big names later, or is it because of covid?

just read that the covers were bought by nicholas cage for 5.1 millions $....so 1.7 M$ per page....woww

i think that's a question you ask yourself when you get 65 or 70 (or when you get pretty sick), not 50, that's still young....anyway, i myself thought of it (i'm 45), and i'm pretty sure i'll sell almost everything when i get old (i might keep 2 or 3 things) because to be honest, kids don't read anymore, they're not interested in comic books or original art, and will probably sell your collection at some point, with the (high) risk of largely underselling it....so better sell everything and give them the money directly, they 'll have a better use of it

that's not quite the story...hergé wanted to change and have a new editor, and then came to casterman, and proposed this cover (he still wasn't working with the editor then) ....the editor rejected the cover, because it was too complicated to print at the time, but still he was very pleased with it....they signed a contract for publishing hergé books, and hergé offered the refused cover to the son of the editor to help conclude the deal

i don't undersand people who ask certificates...i mean, i'm selling my art pages (on ebay and CAF), ans sometimes, peopel are asking if i have a COA, because they don't know if i'm selling fakes or the real deal.....but if a crook has the talent to do a fake moon knight page by sal vellutto for example, with multi panels, background and all.....he'd be stupid to lose his time to do such an amount of work for only 200$, when he can do a quick fake kirby sketch for more than that....and if he's talented enough to do a fake page, i guess it wouldn't be very difficult to do a fake COA, which is simplier to do than the page

the punisher has never been a block buster despite what's been tried on tv or movies, because he's never been treated as the kiling machine he is....to me, a real good punisher movie should be a bit like the first john wick movie, but a bit more explicit....i always thought that an adaptation of the run "the slavers" would be perfect for a movie

i don't get the diffrence between the 2 paypal options when buying on CAF....i 'm pretty sure that the paypal protection ony works for official transactions, for example if you buy to dealer who has his own website (romoitaman, snyder, catskillcomics....hell, even the donely bros), or paypal with an invoice, and so on....but not between 2 random guys with no bill to prove the value of the page you buy

if it's a nice one, and the price is correct, i'd go for the commission....and if one day i find the cover at a correct price too, i'd resell the commission and buy the cover (thus the importance of buying it frst at a correct price so you can resell it at the price you bought it)

and more important....if their reputation is so bad, why are they still allowed to have a booth at conventions, or to advertise on CAF for example?
