Helloooooo boys.......
Sorry, has been a hectic week to say the least. I was in Las Vegas monday night/tuesday on business and didn't even have enough time to have fun, took the redeye back to make a meeting in Greensboro, NC on Wednesday and then had to be in Minneapolis yesterday and today. I hadn't been on the boards at all and then had to find this out late last night via text message!
I waited until I heard from the seller before posting anything. He confirmed that yes, this is my old book (his book now ) . When he got the book from me, maybe three weeks ago, he decided to send it back in to CGC. He said he thought it could easily get a 9.0 but he didn't expect the 9.2..... what a pleasant surprise, eh?!
I must admit, it does feel a little like a swift kick to the jewels, but "c'est la vie". Atleast i've got a new best friend
The book looks super nice and I wish him well, hope he does well with the sale. Will be fun to watch the auction...... I wonder if the timing even matters (the $10-$12M in books sold in the last little while).......Someone should call Ryan Reynolds and tell him about the auction. He'd pay $250K for it
And thanks to Brannon, Doug, Brock and all my boardie friends for "worrying" about me........ now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to look for the nearest 10th floor window with faulty brackets holding it in (thumbs u
Joey, I feel your pain. I sold a huge book in 5.0 that the buyer upgraded to a 6.0 with a press, which gave the book a large price increase. Every time the buyer would post the book it was literally painful for me to see. Eventually I got over it. You win some, you lose some - hopefully you have more wins than losses.

So does this prove Tec 31 is worth more than Tec 29?
-
I'd say a nice looking 3.0 could hit $4k
An OW/W 3.5 sold for $4,400 so that could be right.
I think it has alot more room to grow, remember AF 15s before they went crazy.I think that is what's happening with Hulk 1s.Scarcity+ Demand=$
As the owner of a solid 7.5 though, prices have been all over the place. I know one sold in SD for 25K but then the one in HA went for under 20K. Personally, my "unbiased" opinion is that it will be a 30K book soon but it all depends on the buyers in the pool at the moment.

Neil Vokes attends a lot of cons and worked at Comico - I would ask him the next show you see him at as he might know.

I know Jerry S and Jim - I was just razzing Jerry S and I'm sure he knows it.

Still not sure how I feel about my WD comics guru vs my WD original art guru
Flame on!!!
Jim
Who is the OA guru?
I've been talking with Jerry alot lately about art.
Jim
Jerry is probably just cutting and pasting what I am writing him and taking credit for it with you.
-
Yes, Kirkman bought the Adlard cover to WD #100. That bit of info came out around the same time that the cover image became public.
-
I offered to buy all the art for 100 months ago and would have paid any price for it. As much as I loved the book, in hindsight I'm glad Mark didn't take me up on it. It was a great story but nothing that should stay intact that I needed to be the custodian of.
Jim
Felix said in the OA forum that 99 pages were for sale so maybe someone bought out whatever was left early on.

I'll share this one:
-
I really enjoyed it as well - it was a great issue and very gruesome. Although I do agree that the art has fallen off in quality quite a bit these last several issues. I have friends at SDCC and was going to try to get a page or two but after going through the issue a few times, I decided against it.
-
I expected more with the issue. Oh well.
Given the enormous build up for this issue, no matter what happened, it would have been extremely difficult for it to live up to the hype.
In the end, it's just another issue in the story, which was somewhat forgotten in all of the hype. However, I think the buildup had as much to do with the fans as it did with Image.

OK I read a synopsis. Two of my spoiler predictions were correct.

Preview pages spoiler
Note that one dude on the first page is talking about 'Paul's group'... I'm pretty sure Jesus is one of the Saviors and this whole thing has been a setup to wrest control of Alexandria from Rick's group.
After looking at the covers and reading the preview and trying to find spoilers online, I think Rick/Michonne get surrounded by zombies in the middle of nowhere and have to kill their way out. I think at the very least that Rick and Michonne survive. Meanwhile, I think the deaths are Glenn and/or Maggie.

No one here has read or found spoilers for WD #100 yet?
-
If anyone has read Walking Dead #100 and would like to PM me spoilers, I would love to read them. I want to know what happens!

Ah, what the heck...

One of the funnier comments I've seen:

that's a lot of money

Should be interesting...

There is gonna be some kind of WD mania at SD this year. No matter what happens to the property going forward, SD 2012 will be quite a watershed moment for WD.

Personally, I think the price bothers me more.
I sent in an offer of $700, and didn't even get a counter offer back.
$700 seems a fair price (these days)
That's not what I'm hearing. Especially seeing what the current small pages are selling for from Splashpage, $700 is not in the ballpark.

I've got my eye on one book in particular..
If it's not the Cap 1, then I'm stumped!
As someone who has a nice Cap #1 CGC 2.0, I hope the Sparkle City copy does VERY well!
-
Kudos to rube11 who was generous enough to give me the heads up on a book I was looking for that he knew about.

What's even more amazing about this list is that Sandy had sold off most of his collection privately on his own and this was what was "left over."
