  1. That #1 2nd print went cheap. Someone got a deal - congrats!
  2. Yeah, one you know what you're looking for it's super easy.
  3. I bought my counterfeit number one years ago when I had one of the top collections of number one through 10. Sort of a completionist thing. Look pretty neat being able to compare the two also. When I sold most of my comics off I decided to keep the counterfeit. It was always really hard to get a high grade copy and at the time not worth a lot. Also, Dave made me an original piece of art that mimics issue number one so was always my intention to have them put together in a frame. I really wanted it with my high-grade original copy but, again I had gotten out of comics and things changed due to life circumstances
  4. Been sitting on a Cerebus 9.4 counterfeit for a long time. Anyone have any idea what is worth these days?
  5. For those few still around that still remember me, I used to hang around here by the handle Cyberjad - for some reason my username was changed at some point and I have been too lazy to deal with it. Anyways - hi to all my old friends! I got out of collecting and sold off most of my stuff, but kept a few things I just wanted for myself. This for the most part meant things of little value that I just liked. Such as a file copy of Raphael #1 - who would have thought at the time? These books I saved, along with some others, because I purchased them all from Mirage studio, directly from Dan, as part of Peter's collection he was selling off. Nickelodeon had just purchased the company and they were cleaning house. Number 1 recently was signed / sketched by Kevin and is a perfect 9.8, as are all the books, and they all have white pages. I actually had never graded out the #1 for whatever reason, but I always held onto it knowing it was something special. Back then I bought a lot of books from Dan and saved all the best, just because I knew they had been Peter's.
  6. Been out of the comic collecting game for a while. I have a question that maybe everybody on here could help me out with... Theoretically if I had a copy of number one second print signature series slabbed in 9.8 with white pages that was from Peter Laird's personal collection (purchase from Mirage Studios w/ certificate) that was signed and remarked by Kevin Eastman, what do you think it would be worth?
  7. I have what I think is an interesting story. About 6 years ago I decided to get out of comics - it was just time to move one. I sold off all my high dollar stuff and broke up my top tier TMNT collection, along with selling off a lot of other stuff. From what I recall I just kept some of the less valuable things (at the time) that I liked, with one exception, a copy of TMNT #1 2nd print. The #1 was kept because although it was raw, I have graded a lot of these and I am confident it's a 9.8. One day I planned to get it graded, but have just not gotten around to it. I liked keeping it also because I bought it from Mirage and it came from Peter's collection, which I have documented. Yesterday, I asked on Facebook what those are going for these days and was shocked. So, I took a look in my old collection and stuff and thought I would see what I have still... Turns out I have a run of books 2-10 that I had graded 9.8 from Peter's collection. I also have a copy of Raphael and Donatello. Also, I saved a copy of a #3 variant that is a 9.6 signed inside by Peter and Kevin - this was not from Peter's collection. I had forgotten about all this stuff after 6 years. Anyways, I just kept some stuff I liked and it turns out I have a pretty OK TMNT collection still. Nice find yesterday after a challenging day. Also, if any of my TMNT collector friends remember me from back when - this is Cyberjad - Hi! I will let you know I have not totally checked out over the past 6 years. During that time I had a child (priorities changed) and he has met Kevin twice. Kevin and his wife were way, way nicer than they had to be with him - GREAT PEOPLE!
  8. Turtle, this is not the set that I used to own. Also, I have not logged in for a long time... I am not sure why my username is changed and my history @ 0 posts, but this is Cyberjad.
