    Up in smoke

A quarter gone Damn you fire in Fort Mac. If I was there i would drink a 2litre of Pepsi and take a leak on it to show my disdain. When i moved to Australia from Canada, my brother let me keep my comic collection at his place. His place is now just a pile of ash. His comic and my comic collection are history. I think i had 63 graded comics there. Thankfully no valuable graded ones. Just cheap Hulks mostly i think. I will have to go through my notes someday to figure out which ones. But my near complete run of ungraded hulks ( not super high grades) and his near complete ungraded iron man in nice grade along with a few thousand other comics are burnt to a crisp. Actually i dont give a as i finally found out my brother was ok but is trapped out at his jobsite while his wife and little ones made a frantic dash south out of the city. its not just you

It once was, but is not now Oddly I can' t reply to X-ray Spexx journal. As to his query, yes there was a journal that was about some other company and its gone now. And I could not see the replies to the journal and got this UBB error, which is exactly the same as I get when I click on X-rays. I can open up the discussion thread on other journals. I can open up tnerbs old journal that was discussing the same topic. Maybe its not allowed to be discussed anymore. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. Now I wait

Nope, no shipment off to CGC Now I don't want everyone to be too envious, but last week I won an Alpha Flight #7 on ebay for pretty cheap. The bidding was hard fought, but with days left I became the highest bidder and to my delight I got a text from ebay congratulating me on winning such a prized item, ( pretty nice of the folks there ) So I paid right away, sighing in dismay as the shipping cost was more then the cost of the comic, but nodding my head slightly as I gave a little lip curl in satisfaction that I was one more step forward to world domination in my Alpha Flight collection. It was marked today as shipped, so figure it will be early next week it will have flown halfway around the world and be arriving at my door. Calculating with mild relief that I should be able to squander the package away without the wife ever being the wiser, checking to make sure I got a couple dvd's of trash reality shows "real housewives of...." wherever, stashed away just in case I need to distract her. And then GASP....said comic is up for sale again on ebay from the same person. Same certification number, so straight away, my fingers go a flying, sending the person an email asking why that issue is for sale again. So now I wait, wondering, what could be arriving at my door? Oh my nerves, their shot. the stress is immense, there is only one way to calm a person down over something like this. I mean don't want to get high blood pressure or something right? So I better get to it, time to go shopping for more comics! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

    not found

Do they exist? I recently won a number of CGC comics and have tried to add them to my sets but four of the comic serial numbers do not exist apparrantly. Are there fraudulent cgc's out there? I have never had this before. I am just thankful that my Hulk 182 9.6 exists and had belonged to another member before it moved to my home. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. Whew

All good now So as I often do, I am looking up comics on WWComics, and have a ton in my cart, and as usual far more then I can really afford so I am having to widdle them down, I pulled out my phone and looking at my graded comics lists tossing out a couple that I already had graded. Satisfied all is ready, and much pondering, of " should I?" and finally hit the submit button, when I do a Tool Time "HRURGH?" And mad scramble I verify my list to my phone and then open up here just to double check and sure enough, I just bought a graded comic that I already had one of. After much lamenations about how stupid I was and curses and swearing off comics for good, I click on the ordering button, and see that there is a 30 day return policy, I am like ok, I can always send it back. but then I clicked on contact, and there it is, any questions about shipments, contact Sharon. So I fire off an e-mail pleading my case, asking if they could swap the one comic for another of the same price. I go to bed, grumbling, and when I woke up, there is a reply, " Sure, no problem." A big smile and a huge relief, cause I really didn't want to stop collecting Its only 50 bucks, ( well 49.95 australian) but for me its still a lot. So I got three more graded comics coming and a bunch more raws that eventually I am going to send in to get graded. So this is a big thanks to the great people at WWComics and if people haven't bought from them before, it seems like a very good company to me. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. Variant?

Is it really? I am just wondering about variant comics. I see all the time at mycomicshop all these Mark Jeweller variants that they are trying to peddle for three or four hundred percent more then the normal version. Mark Jewellers is just an advertisement in the comic. Do people actually consider this a variant and if so does CGC note that when they are grading? I have no intention of going for them as I don't consider them to be variants. Just wondering what others think. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. 7. Did it again Darn darn darn, ( not the actual word I am using) Mycomicshop auctions ended today, and unfortunatly I won 5 auctions. Now one would think that " Hey, thats cool" except when you live in Australia. 4 cgc's from Mycomicshop they charge 18 bucks shipping, 5 books, they charge 53 dollars for shipping. 35 bucks more for one more book. It drives me bonkers. Especially when I didn't win any of my core series that I collect. I won two civil war 9.8 SS, for very cheap which is good, I guess. Normally I try and watch the auctions now and soon as I hit four wins boom, pay for that lot and keep going, but to busy at work to do that today. Guess I will try better at next round of auctions. And try and follow my rule I made months ago, only bid on comics I am collecting, not because 15 bucks makes me the high bidder. 0-5 on that rule Dreadstar? Huh? Ack! Ah well mates, off to carouse mycomicshop for a couple more books, a christmas present for myself, well another present, actually already had a number for myself. Oh yeah, that 106 ss Alpha Flight was a christmas present from my son yeah, that works. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  8. How to clear up the journals I did enjoy seeing the pictures of the harvey stuff at first, but since there was no story about anything it quickly bored me...oh look, airplane... Uh, oh yeah. If you have gotten tired of all the journals of any certain person, the easiest way is to log into your account, click on the person's name in the journal and instead of clicking follow, click ignore. And that immediatly hides all of that persons journals. If people post 70 or 80 posts in two days, it might be a bit much. Even Tnerb isn't that crazy Actually, he probably is, but he would have something different in each of those 70 or 80 posts. Hope this helps a few people. The only thing that kinda sucks is that you have to log in to your account, normally I just come to the site and check journals without bothering to log in. Ohhh, Dinosaur.... Finally

This is where it all began I finally got around to getting it, Transformers number 19. It is what started my collecting comics. I dont remember why I bought it when I saw it sitting on the comic rack at the IDA pharmacy. But I did and was hooked. I lived in a rural area, two tv channels, and never got to see the transformers on tv growing up, and I never got into collecting the toys, but for some reason I collected the Marvel series religiously. I branched off into other comics, Hulk being the major one, and spiderman's. And I am embarassed to admit, Heathcliff. I think I have all the heathcliffs in a comic box somewhere at my mom's place back in Canada. I finally have chosen five series to work on for my cgc collecting, and Transformers is one of them. And this is the one I really wanted and have been hunting for a good price and finally won it in an auction for quite a bit less then any buy it nows. That might be a run on sentence, but oh well. I am just very happy to have it, and will add it to my collection once it arrives down here in Australia. I dont like adding comics to my inventory until after I get them ever since I got a shipment of the wrong comis and never got the ones I had won. I haven't found any good ones in the Android apps store.
