Then there is this collection that never made it into the registry. William, you are amazing! Haha. I love you Nick! My collection was so young and naive. At the time there were no 9.8 #1's, I had the only #2 9.8, there was only one other #3 9.6 (no 9.8's), and only 3 #4 9.8's. I honestly had been looking for high grade copies for so long (pre cgc/mass internet) that I wasn't sure there would be many more to surface... Then that green #1 9.8 came which Chris snagged quickly, and then you became a Crow 9.8 finding machine!!! Even though the numbers in high grade are still relatively low, I am still amazed at the beautiful copies collectors/board members have been able to find! Proud to be part of the group. I don't post on here enough, but I do love seeing all the posts and continued Crow love in this thread!

Yeah, I was ready to bid $690 on it, but that was already pushing it... Who knows the high bidders max... Next time! Very sharp copy though. Congratulations to the winner!

I remember when I was a kid and the original Groo issues were $75+ each. I actually remember getting issue 1 for $45 and I thought it was the deal of a lifetime! Now it's one of those series that whenever I find in $1 bins I can't pass up because it just doesn't feel right. I must free them... Great series and one of the most kind creators I have ever met...

Love the Darkhawk appreciation! My young self was deep into indie comics when I picked up a Darkhawk #1 off a local drug store spinner rack, which brought me back into the superhero world. I still have a soft spot for Darkhawk. Issue 1 is one of those comics I always rescue from the $.50 bins, just because. Nice collections everyone!

Must. Let. This. Go. Please. Nick, I'm not taking sides because I really don't care. The bottom line is that you like the series and want a high grade run. That's great. Go after it! I don't see why artificial points or the fact that others do or don't want it should have any effect in either driving ones collecting or deterring one from what they like. Those who appreciate the difficulty of attaining these in high grade will appreciate seeing a high grade run. Those who don't obviously won't. I understand the point you were trying to make. I understand both you and mschmidt's points. They've been heard. Discussions are great. Comics are supposed to be FUN. If you get a full Primer run in 9.8 I'll give you 50,000 William Points*. They are difficult to come by and are highly sought after. To most people in the world, they have the same value as registry points. Meaning that when you tell someone that you have "600 registry points" or "600 William points," you will get the exact same blank stare with a little head nod and an "oh...uh, that's nice". *I will not give you 50,000 William Points. That would be careless.

I own all of the issues but I'm not overly connected to any of them. I would like to upgrade my #2 someday because I do consider it a copper key. Early Grendel appearances (like in Mage) are ones that I always enjoyed looking for when I was younger. Not that I don't see the significance of the other Primer issues (I obviously don't mind owning them all!), but I wouldn't think twice about selling/trading them. Well, maybe twice, but certainly not thrice.

I know I'm a bit late to the party but nice job. That book is tough in 9.8! I remember when Grails offered a $1000 for a copy. I had 3 untouched/unread copies and thought maybe I had one that would be worth submitting...they all had multiple spine stresses. #6 is a rough one too.
