  1. I too have slowly been switching over a lot of my books to these BCW plastic bins. I do like them. That said they are a little expensive, but that cost can be reduced by ordering direct from BCW ( BCW Supplies) you can usually either sign up for emails and get 5% off or google discouny code and keep trying the ones you find until one works. They also usually run specials where order say $80 and shipping is free as well as quantity discounts. ( ex. Order 1@$35 / 3@$30 ea / 5@$27 ) if you order in quantity enough for free shipping and use a code it helps to bring the cost each down to decent. The only issue I have had with these is one of my raw short boxes I kept the top lids open and had them stacked next to one another and as I went to lift it off, it broke one of the tabs/hinge that holds the lid on, which it still is ok to use. The other is when putting them together they can be a little tight getting the bottoms on. Still all in all I do like these and the have worked well for me.
  2. I think you are both HUNG up on the wrong aspect of this beautiful SPECIMEN and now have I will have to LOG off..
  3. I know this is not the comic you were specifically referring to , but it is the mullet and I will note that this one is a near impossible find.
  4. Thank you. I knew there were more I was forgetting. Yes Amalgam. Which had some that were blank upc , but also had direct editions and were also usually found in the packs I had mentioned as well. and some others were DC vs Marvel Which the blank boxes are usually thought of as 2nd prints. With all of this it has me leaning more and more towards the OPs book was probably a 2nd print made for multi packs . Which a lot of the book stores would open up and sticker for sale individually or some like the DC vs Marvel were just shrink wrap with a sticker on the wrap, but the stores could have either pulled if the wrap got messed up and placed on book or unused sticker if the wrap was gone.
  5. Time for another bump with this sealed 2 pack I received today. ( wasn't really cheap) still happy with what i did pay as these are both pretty tough to find and usually you can not be too picky on grade, but these look awesome!
  6. Been a while and too many to post them all from the last couple weeks , but here are some highlights. German panini Origin 1 Stickered UPC later printings.... First AOS 497 2nd got 2 of these. MOS 18 3rd managed to get 8 of these! Superman 74 2nd only 1 of these. Killing Joke tough 9th print Batman Beyond 1 and then this GEM !!!! I have really been looking for some decent copies of both of these RARE DC Universe Logos. Ended up finding a Sealed 2 pack ! ( although this one did not come cheap)
  7. Ok. I too searched and like you was unable to locate any direct details or information. That said I can offer an educated guess. Outside of what others have mentioned as a printing error, I do know a lot of multi packs, giveaway, and special distribution editions lacked barcodes and in their place would be blank boxes or other art. One example being "DC Universe Logo Variants " where they reprinted books, but didnt change anything about the book except the upc box. These have been found to be distributed through toy stores, bookstores, and retailers. I have also seen several of the stickered upc comics that too were distributed through bookstores and the sticker upcs were placed over blank boxes, direct box art, or original upc. After talking with some of the workers who worked for these bookstores they informed me the reason was either to add a upc to make them scannable or that the original upc were not in the correct format/type for their scanner to work. So they had to add these to make them scannable. I know the pictures i am about to add are not directly related, but are there to give an idea and examples of what i am referring to. First blank upc from Whitman packs. Next example of what a toy store pack would look like sealed(although I am pretty sure these contained direct editions) Finally an example pulled from ebay here https://www.ebay.ca/itm/223876053499 of a upc sticker Another reason I mention the multi packs and DC Universe Logo Variants is that even with a bunch of people all hunting for these some are still extremely rare and have only had 1 found to date, where others show up every so often. Congratulations on finding this issue that does indeed appear to be a rare variant .
  8. It can depend on a few factors. If the grade is low enough they will give it a blue label as the sticker doesn't really have enough effect on the grade to truly detract from the overall grade. However if it is a higher grade they will give it a green qualified label and note sticker on cover and then act as if the sticker is not there and grade accordingly. Although my "stickered" versions are from Walden Book stores where they would place a different UPC code that was shipped from DC and placed over either direct edition boxes or over existing upcs that were not scannable in their system. Here is an example of a graded sticker on cover comic.
  9. Especially when it comes to threads about extreme alterations of books , or crazy requests to have extreme alterations done by someone else.
  10. Better watch yourself. He is back to trolling these boards for ideas. Besides if he does crack it you know he is going to try to press it and then it's another case of popped staples. Although I believe he would more than likely be the one to buy the OPs book as trimming is not restoration. Just a few more of these and
  11. Having these conversations just has me wanting to show them the door.. Still, really glad you not only said no, but made CGC aware of these conversations and intentions.
  12. On this note about ridiculous stuff, I found a sweet sister copy on Ebay, for the Low Low price of $170! You could start a lowest/ugliest set on the census!
  13. Updated to SFG.. forget to mention this update was today. ( like most of us waiting can not help but to keep clicking the My Submissions button.)
  14. Can not tell which issue this is, but it's an Archie in The Longest Yard. Seen at the Caretakers funeral scene.
  15. That is why i have said i could be wrong. I did look to see if i could track down some of the magazines I was a little more familiar with and could mot find those covers. The stories , titles , and images all appear to be from roughly the correct time, I was just unable to locate thos exact issues/images. There were a few of the Time Kennedy issues and some has a close resemblance, but not those exact images that I could locate. I would agree that it seems like more work, but maybe you are on to something with not having to pay for image use.
  16. Dropped these in the back from CGC thread when I first got them back , but figured I would share them here as well.
  17. I got some movement today from my Bill Morrison submission. It was showing as received on 9/9/20 and I was told when they made it back from CCS to CGC they would show a new received date. Today I got a notification. So i would guess this means they made it back from CCS. Now i look forward to seeing the grade, Signature placement, and maybe if he decided to throw a remark on any of them.
  18. Had mentioned that my in house signing for Bill Morrison had not updated and was informed that it would show as a new received date when they made it back to CGC from CCS. Well today received notification. I am happy they moved so quick, but at the same time that was extremely quick to be pressed and back at CGC. Now just looking forward to seeing what these grade out at, the Signature placement and if maybe he decided to remark any.
  19. Wow that was quick. Did not expect this at all. Received yesterday. Today moved to SFG
  20. Thank you. Was hesitant asking, as I see some of these that I really like, but am sure I more than likely can not afford. Just like seeing some of the amazing Ash Gonzales sketches.. I keep meaning to reach out to ask him, but at the same time I have that feeling I really could not afford him either and do not want to waste his time. Thank you for this information and sharing your incredible covers!
