  1. Sounds like the attempted hire supports this motto..
  2. Just a public service announcement... The postman always rings twice...
  3. Normally I would agree with this, and I do still believe TAT have become a problem, however recently this has become about the same industry ( pressing and grading) wide. Most worth their salt pressers have been backed up to about 3 months due to the influx of submissions. I have started to see the same issues even with "other" grading companies as well as card grading. Right now short of sending books straight to cgc . If I were to send them to press, then grading it would take anywhere from 3-6 months. (Slow boat) Now take all this with some grain of salt, as CGC has really been stepping up as they still have several that speed on through ( Greggy) and when you couple the influx as well as the in house signings they have still maintained a decently steady TAT as shown through the posts here in the threads.
  4. At first I wanted to comment. That urge got stronger as the thread grew longer , but now all I can think is..
  5. So far reading through the consensus is: 1. that it would be polite to say Thank you. 2. Almost everyone enjoys mail. 3. That hand written personalized message means more. So maybe hand write a thank you letter and add him to your Christmas Card mailer.. If nothing more you never really know ( and no it definitely is not me)
  6. While this may be the case for the regular direct Editions or raws that may or may not be the advertised "High Grade" this book has actually already been pulling strong sales in Newsstand and Crazy numbers in the DC Universe Logo Variant. The zero definitely is no where near it, even with its Zero Hour Bullet Logo. As others have said though the CGC notations can be all over the place or completely non existent. Also as others have said you can ask for notation, but be aware that if you do, not only will it slow down the submission as they have to verify, but they may still decide it is not note worthy.
  7. Wow. Awesome find. MUCH MUCH BETTER than finding the blue or distorted holograms. This right here is definitely the correct answer and I will add if 9.8 could be way more. Still definitely a good win for $30! Congratulations!
  8. Your welcome. There are a few that almost always get listed incorrectly. This one (516 for 518) and Steel #23 ( which the Steel is where people confuse the triangle box for issue #)
  9. While reading this I get to the part about " hey f#$k nut...." this started to become my initial reaction But after the initial and really thinking about it, would agree that it not only was the initial refund and shipping of the books nice( if not hacking, or mistaken identity) . That said I also agree with the others that his communication points to some issues and while that may end up being either an entertaining conversation or insight into the terror that may be hiding behind someone with possible issues. Ok seriousness aside. When I read ." dnt leave negative feed back im by you a gift. if you do i wnt be happy." May I ask what you have as your ebay profile picture?
  10. Thank you. That is amazing. I greatly appreciate it.
  11. Glad this worked out for you. I have noticed a few (more) glitches recently from ebay. I believe this has a lot to do with the migration over to managed payments.
  12. First two responses definitely had it. I think the only reason this keeps popping up is someone is trying to make a Friday thread out of this. I commented early on that I did not think this was Wrightson, but once I looked at both what Revat and Sean had said and did the few second search, I agree. Bill Wray.
  13. It's time for another to this AMAZING THREAD! WOW yet another reason I love the boards! If you have a current working version of this I would LOVE to get it. I am currently trying to go back through my entire collection to update with scans, pictures, descriptions, etc for inventory and insurance and it would be a HUGE time saver to be able to scan the cgc labels and populate the information. I am also looking at printing custom labels for the raws similar to what my comic shop does for my assessment of grade and information about the books. I REALLY HOPE YOU HAVE THIS STILL ! Thank you!
  14. I have had this happen a few times. Some are like others have said , and the seller cancelled the transaction. Although usually when this happens you will not only receive notification from ebay that the seller cancelled , but the reason as well. It will also still show the item in purchase history as cancelled. I will add that the seller can also ask ebay to remove the listing ( and claim due to error, damage, etc) these can either show up as cancelled or be completely removed. ( just gone like they were never there) There is also ways items will be put in limbo by ebay. Seller has had account hacked recently, or when ebay suspects fraud/issues , and used to be the most common seller hasn't paid their fees and ebay temporarily removes sales/listings/feedback/etc until their account has been brought back to good standings. If the items you are referring to still show in your purchase history , but do not show cancelled and when you visit the sellers page they still have listings, I would consider trying to contact both seller and ebay and ask what is going on. This may all be an issue related to the recent enforcement of managed payments and the seller may just be going through transitioning pains. I completely empathize with you on this as it happens too often now. My most recent experience was 4 separate books a seller listed for $15 each buy it now. I bought them all and immediately paid. He listed a few more I went to buy those as well and when I went to complete the purchase the system kicked back and said item had ended. When I backed all the way out to ebay home I had 4 messages that my previous items were all cancelled ( seller said "out of stock or damaged") when really someone else must have messaged him and made a way bigger offer. Which I messaged him asking what happened and if someone had made an offer at least give me a chance to counter. I never received any reply. Which really sucks as I had been chasing a few of those for a while. Hope you get this resolved and Good luck!
  15. I was watching this one as well. A few days ago I received my submission that had a 9.8 and 9.4 in it from my original collection. Which I was contacted to let go of the 9.8 to a fellow board member which at the time we both only knew 1 on census, but the day after it arrived at their house. That one was listed on ebay. Which means there are at least 2 now. I didn't really want to let mine go, but I was made a good offer and accepted . At least I know where it is and that it is appreciated and in a beautiful set/collection. The market is always a tough call for prices. These books are relatively rare in and right now really rare in 9.8. Only time will tell how the census will change. Due to more of these setting new record prices there will be more submissions. What will help determine is how many really are 9.8 and how the price fairs when lower 9.2, 9.4, 9.6 sell and how often decent presenting raw copies come up and their corresponding numbers. One example would be 75 platinum. For a while 9.8 were over $1000, but now they can be bought between $500-700 and that is with known print numbers around 10,000. but some of that also has to do with how many are now in 9.8 on census even in spite of the known bagging issue that kept a lot of these from 9.8. Similar to the multi packs these DCU came from. I still do see the 499, 686 , 20 keeping a good value and as you said hopefully increase due to rarity . Especially in the high grade , but also across the board from 9.0 up..
  16. You are welcome . I always enjoy sharing . Maybe one day, I will actually be able to go through and properly organize, photograph, and post all of it together. I have such an extensive collection for several runs, but this one was my favorite.
