  1. The AOS 505 CE we were discussing in addition to coming in the Beckett pack shown and one more I have not found the pack or pictures yet, was also found in these This pack has not only the 505 CE , but also where the Superman 82 second print hidden inside The 500 CE was literally everywhere. After the success of the death storyline they WAY over produced the 500. Not only could the bagged CE be found in many different packs they also started sending them to 3 party companies to include in their multi packs. ( Those "Out of Print" packs) as well as set packs Here is another Beckett Pack that contains the 75 second print and the 500 CE. plus with the major distribution and popularity almost all of the storylines have been produced in many foreign versions as well.. and I do agree Toys R Us, Kaybee Toys, Waldenbooks were some of my favorites back then. I always found many of these packs and boxes that I could not get enough of and still have most of them.
  2. If you look at the two scans I shared above the 9.8 is the regular platinum edition. The 9.6 is the error where the platinum ink didn't print correctly. Standing alone it is really hard to tell, but next to a regular you can spot the difference. It does appear duller and a different shade than the regular copy. Those are the only differences so far that I have spotted between the two.
  3. Thank you. I thought the same thing when I was filling out to send them in and hoped they would come back not only in order , but would hit the 9.8s. 2 out of the 3 I am happy with considering how long I kept these books inside their poly bags.
  4. I don't know if the op did well or not, but I do know there are definitely a few horseshoe sculptures out there I would trade a few boxes for..
  5. Yeah. It was Glen and I felt the same way about it. I definitely would have personally wanted that one in cgc universal. I just got back a couple more of my originals that I sent in this last week. The platinum 75 is number 6464. The 500 in 9.6 is the error version.
  6. Interesting enough these made their way to most baseball card, drug store, toy shop, and book stores. If you look at the back of the tab they were made and distributed by Beckett. If I remember correctly this specific one came from a Woolworths in Cincinnati Ohio.
  7. I just tried looking and know I have at least 3 packs the 82CE was distributed through, but so far have only managed to locate 1 pack there is also a 5 pack like the one above that has the 4 die cut and 82CE . Similarly the AOS 505 was distributed through about 5 different packs including one that came with the trade of the return and 82 2nd print. Also you guys missed one of the AOS 505 CGC 9.8 that popped up last week and sold within about a hour of showing up on ebay. so there is one of the others from the Census.
  8. Might work for you and maybe on by bigger tv if I can figure out how to connect my blue teeth to UHF , but for this phone, at my age , I am lucky if I could tell which was Bleeth or Hoff. HD or not..
  9. Received :8/15 SFG : 9/14 G/QC: 9/21 F/I/S 9/22 Today! Pretty Happy with the results overall and will post in the back from CGC this week once received / scanned. 25 Modern No Prescreening 9.8: 12 9.6: 7 9.4: 3 9.2: 3
  10. Another update today! Status: Grading/ Quality Control !
  11. This helps explain it all. It was confusing with the finished cover where they added a city in the background. They are not on an actual building they are playing at a playground on a jungle gym...
  12. I think i would lean towards no as well. The ending just doesn't seem right with the break in it that I am not used to seeing on his Signature. That said seeing a Signature on the inside was more commonplace in 80-90 as the artists and contributors didn't want to mess up the cover art.
  13. That is a good question Although i do doubt it. A lot of times they state name written on cover, etc . There are instances where they do note the name. For example since Jerry Siegel was gone before they were doing the Signature Series, they usually note "Jerry Siegel" written on cover..
  14. In my defense, I usually see double vision anyway but correction noted and accepted. Although I do blame Wriggly.. Think it was something they used to put in their gum..
  15. As others have mentioned there can be a lot of factors and varying opinions that come into play. Definitely Condition and Desirability are two of the biggest. Although when looking at double covers the grade usually reflects the better of the two covers. ( on CGC Slabs) it would be the Lager number and the note the condition of the other cover in smaller print. Outside of those obscure books can also bring good money. With all that said it doesn't hurt to aim higher on the price range others have mentioned , as you never really know who may want it and can always entertain lower offers or reduce if it doesnt sell. Something is only really worth what someone is willing to pay and in the oddball and obscure, it can take a bit to get it in front of that buyer, unless you price it low and it gets snapped up by someone else who is only going to mark it up and willing to wait. Congratulations on finding the double cover and good luck!
