  1. Ok. So that we do not completely hijack the thread made a new one and moving it here.
  2. That's right giving the power back to the throwback lines that need no introduction. In other words throw out a quote that is instantly recognizable. Even if not everyone gets it. We already got an early start on this in another thread, but do not want to completely hijack it so moving it here.
  3. Moon Star of Limbo, give me the might, the muscle, the menace of Mon Star!
  4. I always try to watch for what books consistently hit close to the 10 by numbers as those seem to make the 10 hit values closer to traditional 9.8 when too many flood in to market. Always see things like Lady Death , Batman Damned, those Alan Moore Crossed, and the Grimm Fairy Tales.. Thank you for pointing out the actual data.
  5. Funny I didn't even have to look at the actual link by book. Between those and the silver foils I too would think it would be obvious.
  6. Always have that amazing data.. plus from this you can definitely tell when Batman Damned showed up..
  7. Completely agree. On the flip side would be a little cheaper to get a set in 9.8 if you weren't as worried about the full quad.
  8. I agree. Closest we have is on multiple covers where it states interior/exterior cover grades. Another thing I think is if they did comic sub grades it would help cut down on people second guessing some of the grades, but would severely limit the already illusive and coveted 10. Couldn't even imagine any of the top grails getting a quad 10. They are already crazy prices and really couldn't fathom the new nosebleed levels those would reach.
  9. I know. After changes I scaled all those down to one of each and even then I still traded a lot of other cards for newer Editions as they could net me even more playing cards. Really regret most of it looking back. I know if I had just kept my original sets and decks that I had, I could probably retire today. Just the one Lotus graded a 9 with CGC. Former PSA 9. I want to go back a few years and shake some sense into my younger self.
  10. I know. I really enjoyed the game at the beginning. Then they started with changes. No longer 4 of each card. Some were restricted. I still curse that as many of the MOST valuable cards got traded when I could no longer keep a playset in my decks. Makes me a little ill when I look back at some of the cards I had back then and knowing what the few I did keep have graded and the value now.
  11. Also welcome to the Boards! This is one of the best features here at CGC. There is so much amazing information and compounded knowledge here on the boards. Hopefully more will come from the card end of things and it will grow.
  12. I agree. Although hopefully they add all non sports and the prices do settle at or near the top. I also hope they actually grade them unlike what they have decided with their sports being an affiliate with SCG. The CGC cases would look great as well as eventually adding Signature Series to the list for the ability to have the matching set comics, cards, signatures all in CGC Yellow Label.
  13. It has been a REALLY long time since I played think the last series i remember was ICE AGE . Started on ALPHA . When I did I had several decks and two were my favorite. Both were Black Decks and would have to look to find out what all was in them. But the ideas are simple enough. The Duel deck( which won me several tournaments) was Bats, Rats, and Pestilence. Idea being toss out a small creature as quick as possible and just start widdling off life until I could get out a pestilence. Then dump everything into it repeatedly. Object you die before I do. Then the Multi Players Deck. This one was slow and seemed nice but it was my Lockdown deck. Mostly stuff like Howling Mines , Chains of Mephistopheles, Dominic Tutors, The Abyss, Nether Void, Underworld Dreams, The Rack , Millstone,Hymn to Tourach, and a bunch of other cards I would stack in the deck depending on others Decks and what I wanted to play, but the idea was at first to get everyone drawing as many cards as possible which helped me get the cards to set up the lockdown. Eventually getting to the point where you were just discarding the cards meant to draw straight to the graveyard and taking damage the whole time. Just mill the deck away . Several times players would run out of deck before life. Other times I would throw out All Hallows Eve and bring all those MASSIVE graveyards to life and watch the mess that ensued .
  14. Completely understand that. I still have several that I am considering, but realistically I am waiting to see what the market decides how these compare in value as they are very similar to BSG in strict grading. That and I really want them to get into the non sports so I can get some of the comic cards to match the comics those two cases would look great displayed together. Trying not to split between BSG, PSA, and CGC.
  15. Meant to quote you above. Also one of the biggest draws currently besides the cases is the TAT. PSA and BSG both have fallen behind and TAT for basic services have been 60-90 days +
  16. So far only BSG. Although theirs isn't really an add on you have to submit for a different service to get sub grades. PSA has qualifiers on theirs and doesn't charge but they are not quite the same. They just have codes on the label. Example being OC for Off Center.
  17. and so we do not completely hijack the OP thread. Congratulations on getting your first submission back! I too like the cases and the labels and agree there is some room for improvement. The cards look great!
