  1. I completely agree about TD. They definitely are not user friendly. I had the same issues when my 401k was being handled by Wells Fargo, not user friendly at all , although both did make gains , I now do not recommend either. Robin Hood did dumb it down so easy a 10 year old could use it , but they started limiting times you could buy in and sell so what little I had in just to see how well it worked, I cashed out. ( again all were a decent gain) although some of their lag in sell vs actually selling did cost some gains. Acorn is exactly as you described. Basically a stocks etc version of the banks keep the change program.
  2. Acorn and Robin Hood are just investment firms similar to TD Ameritrade. The difference being that they also offer stocks that are less desirable and not found through traditional firms due to volatility like Mary Jane stocks and lower value penny stocks. Valiant Man definitely has a WAY better explanation of the differences.
  3. Ebay has both its ups and downs. That said if you do have good scans , grades, and an idea of how much you want for them a better option may be to start a sales thread here on the boards and what ever doesn't sell then move over to Ebay.
  4. Also here is an image of the letter sent from DC for the appreciation of completing the survey in which they sent two copies of the Platinum #500
  5. This technically has nothing to do with In house sketch or remarks . What this is referring to is if you have a book you were sending to an artist to have them sign, sketch or remark and they were going to send it directly to CGC with the Creator Agreement Form ( what is required to maintain chain of custody for the CGC Signature Series) and you wanted that book to also be sent in for an In House Signing event that CGC would allow this if the artist you originally sent it to also filled out the in house submission form you could get the submission to retain its Yellow Label.
  6. Just got an update from my question to CGC about the Creator Agreement Form for a Sketch Cover and In House Signature Series. They said, " Yes, if the artist is willing to submit the private signing paperwork along with the creator agreement then it would get the signature series label for both. " Thanks!
  7. I appreciate you taking to time to answer my questions. Thank you.
  8. That is some interesting information. I appreciate you sharing it. Thank you.
  9. I completely understand and didn't think you would sell it. Although if you ever do I would definitely be interested. I am glad that it at least ended up where someone wasn't just sending it back for a new slab . The sample case was the main history and reason I originally got the book and was my first CGC graded comic I ever purchased. Really wish I never let it go, but glad it at least found a good home. Thanks again for sharing it in all its CGC Sample glory.
  10. I get that it has to come from the artist. That is what I am asking. If the book had all the paperwork for the in house Signature Series and was sent to the artist who sketches the book and was mailed from them to the signing would it retain that chain of custody and receive the Signature Series?
  11. Curious how you can tell how long a listing has been posted?
  12. Haha.. I do like the approach. I still find myself using more sarcasm usually in a nonchalant manner that has them confused as to whether I was actually complimenting or insulting them. Example. As soon as I can tell they are headed that way in conversation I interrupt with something along the lines of " I really like your shoes!" Followed up by "Think I saw the same pair at the goodwill." Or " Nice Hair!" " Where can I get implants or toupee like that?" " Amazing suit/dress! " " reminds me of my grandmother's drapes."
  13. Maybe it is just me , but this sounds like encouraging her to get you engaged to a more dangerous and life shortening lifestyle. Just be weary of surprise skydiving, bungie jumping, tours of a volcano, etc trips for you and your friends .
  14. Random mystery blind comic box ! Not only unread, but unseen! Even by them. Who knows what you may get. ( Them packing Drek in the box)
  15. Definitely as far as this guy goes he is attempting to scam, I completely agree.
  16. I have several of all of the platinum Editions as well as letters from DC about them. I have not been able to locate my letter about the 75 as of yet, however I do know that all of the platinum Editions besides the normal distribution were also awarded to a few for filling out surveys. Which might explain the "A" for award. I also do have a letter that DC explains the amount printed and numbering. In addition I have seen one copy of #75 that had no number at all printed on the back. Unfortunately the owner had it signed and graded by Voldy. All of my platinum Editions are numbered between 4000 and 6000. if I can track down my letter specifically about the 75 will update.
  17. I do tend to agree with this, although we all started somewhere, and with PayPal and a credit card , usually you can at least get your money back if it was a scam. That said I do message the sellers to see if they communicate and base it off the interaction. In this case definitely not something I would be after as it is clearly someone trying for quick buck. Guess they do not know that usually with 0 feedback paypal doesn't release the money right away.
  18. Chasing Amy. Mallrats. Jerry Seinfeld. Season 7 episode 24 Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
  19. You just never know.. I wonder if the argument was over the $16k for the comic? Regardless to go to that extreme is just mind blowing.
