  1. These are the issues in which Mort Weisinger took over as editor and began introducing more components to the Superman “family”. The Earth-1 Fortress of Solitude was introduced in Action 241 followed in short order by Supergirl, the bottled city of Kandor, Brainiac, etc. The purpose of the Superman “The Man of Tomorrow” series of hardcover Archives books was to showcase the earliest Silver Age issues and the first volume begins with these issues, as did the black and white Showcase Presents Superman softcover book.
  2. I have an almost complete run from issues 125 to 201. I should contribute more pics to this thread.
  3. This issue and Action 241 are considered by DC to be the beginning of Superman’s Silver Age.
  4. A new addition to the “What was on the stands in the month I was born?” collection.
  5. This is one of the few that I’m missing in my run of issues 125-200.
  6. Here are three of my keys. Low grade is better than no grade.
  7. Picked up this fairly high grade beauty today.
  8. Edit: Oops. I see that I posted these same books several months ago.
  9. A rendition of the story was published in the newspaper comic strip between August 18th and November 12th, 1960. It’s reprinted in Superman: The Silver Age Dailies 1959-61. I should also mention that this version includes gorgeous Curt Swan art!
  10. You’d be surprised at how much it’s worth even at a lower grade. GRR’s have gone way up.
  11. These were my grades: Underworld #3 4.0 Adventure Comics #256 6.0 Spidey #54 9.2 Iron Man #55 7.0 New Mutants #98 9.6 5 points for a total of 24. Thanks to Mike for a great contest. It was lots of fun!
