The last time I gave packing instructions, the thick cardboard was placed in the centerfold, ruining the HG comic. The time before that, the book was wrapped in plastic, and shrink wrapped with heat to a size smaller than the comic. These days, I only buy from reputable sellers on the boards, reputable dealers and a few auction houses.

Maybe 5 years ago, bots showed up and started about 1000 spam threads in Chinese, in a few hours. 2 moderators couldn't ban the id's fast enough. Actually, it went on for at least a few days. Lately, there have been a few id's with 100's of links for escort services.

I thought it was recommended that people submitting rush orders write express on the package.

Copper 9.2 Grail: is 9.4 possible
comicdonna replied to vacantpassenger's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
It's my opinion that the book is currently a 9.0 and I don't think it will ever get a CGC 9.4 grade. -
Just hit the green buttons.

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?
comicdonna replied to Getoutandstayout's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
It looks like the book shifted, causing damage to the upper right and lower left corners. -

I think your numbers are off. I paid $750 for an 8.5 like 15 years ago I think he meant 5K -
Isn't it time for CGC to stop calling books from 1975 Moderns?
comicdonna replied to shadroch's topic in Comics General
An admin reached out to CGC a year and a half ago to aid in setting cutoff points in the FS area. This is the response. We reached out about age breakdowns to an appropriate person at CGC, as we know the community has varying opinions about when ages begin and end. The dates we received were the following: Golden/Silver/Bronze ages would go up through 1979. Copper/Modern ages would begin with 1980. -

An admin posted this: I have a solid update on this from the technical team! A technical update to the CGC Chat Boards should be rolling out within a few weeks, and the hope is that this technical update will resolve or heavily reduce the frequency of these issues. We'll have to see how it goes, but that's the hope. They seemed to stem from a complicated technical problem to overcome; hopefully this solves it. -

How do you feel about buying old slabs?
comicdonna replied to lostboys's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Damage from transport, moisture and mold, fire and heat, scuffs and scratches, damage from being mishandled or dropped, damage to the labels, warping or rippling, damage to the inner well... Fading would be another concern. The best rule of thumb, is to buy the book not the slab.
