  1. I would expect in the 1.5-2.0 range due to the pieces missing and the long tears.
  2. Would really need to see this book in hand, but kind of looks like a 4.0 to me. The foxing looks pretty severe on the back cover.
  3. 7.0/7.5. Color rub at bottom staple and damage along right side on front cover really hurts, but the book looks great. Looks like reader's crease and soiling on back cover.
  4. 5.5/6.0. Really nice colors. Shame about that stain on the front cover
  5. I really don't think there is any way that this X-Men 1 can get a 4.0 or better. The chipping is way too significant along with that spine/staple wear and small tearing on the back. 3.0/3.5 would be my guess.
  6. 1.0. You may want to tape it a bit to keep it intact, but that's your preference. I sent in a beautiful Timely to get graded and in the process a chip got torn way worse than what I sent it in as. Wished I had taped it first. At a 1.0 grade, tape should still give a blue universal label I believe, but get more advice first Something else to consider is that if the black around the staples is migrating rust, it will only spread worse over time so maybe some conservation is in order to clean the staples and paper.
  7. 6.5/7.0 with the color rub in the "R" in Rider, loss of red around the bottom staple. Spine ticks, back cover dirty, bottom corner fold/chip on front. Maybe clean the white area of the back and press the ticks to get a 7.0/7.5? If the color rubs are printing defects and not rubs then bump it up a point.
  8. I would also call it around a 6.0. That overspray is awfully excessive.
  9. I would also call it a 6.0/6.5 in its current state. C&P wouldn't help much with all the color chipping defects.
  10. I would say 9.4/9.6 depending on if they take off for those ink marks on the back cover.
  11. This kind of looks like it could be considered a manufacturer printer error and may not effect the grade. If you rub your finger along it, does it feel like someone has rubbed off a stain and left a white spot or is it as glossy and smooth as the rest of the cover?
  12. According to zzutak's excellent analysis, I would say that you should expect a blue universal label in the 2.0-3.0 range. Another option would be to hold out until you can find a nicer cover and marry the two book together It's a common enough book that you may find just a cover for sale one day.
  13. From the other thread "a lightly worn book with a cover detached at a single staple will have a Universal Grade of 7.0 to 7.5" https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/201549-an-in-depth-comparison-of-green-label-and-blue-label-grading/#comments
  14. It's hard to tell from the picture, but my first impression is that it is just some compacted debris or maybe ink transfer from a book it was sitting on top of. It looks like something on the surface that can be wiped off. I just don't think it is mold based on how white the paper looks. If it is mold, you should definitely not encapsulate it until you are sure it is dead. Otherwise, it could continue to grow in the case since it is not air tight.
  15. But there is a line that says: "The CGC label will continue to display restoration, conservation and qualifiers as we have in the past, including married parts, color copies, wrong parts, coverless comics, individual wraps and pages, multiple covers, additional inserts and unverified signatures on the cover."
  16. That has to be a mistake, right? Where was Quality Control?
  17. I will buy a copy when the CGC Kelly Rippa in-house signing is announced.
  18. Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I had never heard about this situation before this thread. To summarize: an anti-LGBTQ-rights social media influencer has taken in over a million dollars from his followers to possibly print a comic book, and they are happy to give him that money because he promises that there will be no homosexual, bisexual, or transgendered characters featured in it? I suppose that there is a market for everything, and this situation is definitely news-worthy. I wouldn't be surprised if mainstream media picks up on this, especially with his vocal followers posting about it everywhere. Personally, like stock_rotation said above, I also doubt that these books will even ship anytime soon, let alone be of comparable quality to Marvel, DC or the other established publishers.
  19. Last time I ordered, I was told the same thing. They are still acid-free, archival quality full backs. Due to their trouble with their materials supplier, they had to source brown material instead of white. E Gerber insists that they are the same quality as the all-white boards, and I have no reason to doubt their assertions.
