  1. I have a Sundrop Dale Earnhardt card that came in a case of Sundrop.. We used to sell these in my Comic Shop (1988-2008) and Sundrop used to put a card inside each 12pack of Sundrop Cans for a while. There were 3 different cards I believe.. but we ended up getting 2 that were autographed.. (sealed in plastic) I ended up selling one.. (sigh) but I did keep the other. I know that CGC doesnt do autographed cards if an individual gets one signed.. but if this one came from the distributor as a "chase" in the case of drinks.. does that qualify as a grade-able card?
  2. I just got 25 books graded.. and to put them into the registry i have to enter 1 number at a time.. and then add then say i own it.. and then get the number entered.. then search and add it .. then hit add again .. etc.. 25 times.. Is there a way im missing that i can say i have order number X and here are the 25 books Poof? if not.. why isnt that something we can do
  3. yeah guess so.. unfortunately without the notification it looks like they just really botched the grading on it
  4. OK so i sent in a Double Cover Twilight Zone #1 from Now Comics. The outer cover is eh.. 9.2.. the inside cover (surprisingly or not) is 9.6+ or so i figured. I get it back.. its 9.8 (but the outer cover doesnt look 9.8....) heres my problem.. No note that its a double cover book in the grader notes.. ... no note on the Label itself that says "hey this is a double cover" .. SOoooooo I guess i have to send it back to CGC? to get "Double Cover" put on the label? and or grader notes? Why would that be something I have to specify for someone to put that in? Im sure they noticed it was a double cover as again.. the outer cover ISNT 9.8 and has a scuff down the side..
  5. Ok so i get there is 4000 covers of every issue that is at all collectible anymore.. which is great and its terrible.. I have an Amazing Spiderman #2, Dell Otto Virgin ComicXposure variant. So I go to put it in.. figuring it shouldnt be too hard.. OK so .. There is a ComicXposure issue by Dell Otto, and by Lucio Parrillo, and a Sideways Dell Otto retailer exclusive variant Trade/Virgin, and i have a black background dark Dell Otto ComicXposure Exclusive variant... so .. which is it i list..?? none of the ones that say "Dell'Otto" have the description of "Virgin Edition" .. and none say ComicXposure.. but it is.. and the ComicXposure one doesnt differentiate between Dell Otto and Parrillo.. Sheesh.. IF anyone knows. I put the picture of the one i have below (mines the Virgin not the trade....) all i know is it isnt the "JSCampbell one..
  6. doubt it.. you have to pick the book from the database dropdown list it works for Spiderman Unlimited.. i have the label attached to that in my cart. but doesnt show up for other carnage books
  7. weird.. it let me pick it for a Spiderman Unlimited #1.. thats in my order to do now. thats why i thought i could do it.. so i guess i need to change that?
  8. i cant pick the carnage label for an amazing spiderman 361... is this not available for that book? I see it for other books but not that one
  9. IF the artist is willing to send it in directly with a CGC authorization form you can do that.. but it has to come from the Artist/Writer etc.. Jeff Campbell sells CGC books so i dont know that he does much of this but you could ask.. next time you end up buying one from him. (But if you buy from a LCS, its already out of his hands so it will get a Green Label, (which to me isnt a bad thing, if you want it graded and slabbed.. you still have the certificate to go with it that says its real)
  10. Platinums did not come that way they were shipped several weeks after the 'shelf' version of both Superman 75 and 500.. so I would say the only way there is a platinum copy in the box is if it was a box that was sealed after the original shipping of the issue 500. They were printed and shipped to dealers 1 per shop from what I remember. I know we went through over 1000 copies of the bagged black superman in the first week.. and we received only 1 or 2 total Platinum 75's and i believe one came from a Diamond Distributors convention/meeting and only 1 of them was shipped to us directly
  11. this must be my problem.. have the same issue wanted to start a list but cant seem to do it if you have comics in a cart to do too..
  12. understood.. ok so agreed. Though i was the owner of one of the larger comic shops during this time in the middle of NASCAR country I do understand that this could be one of those things you make up. but .. 1. the dates.. 1st print is in 1990.. 3rd print is just after that with 11/91, hologram printing came out 6/92.. (so this in and of itself.. should lead to my basic "story" being true.. ) as the prices also rise from 1st Print ($1.50, to 2nd print 2.00, to 3rd print 3.00 to the hologram printed a year later at $5) For those that dont know much about the "Bible" for comics Overstreet's Comic Price guide that has listed comics for years and years and years.. I will upload a picture of the Legends of Nascar section.. this has been in the book since probably 1993 like this.. so it is not something that isnt known if you are a dealer in the comic community and have been had a comic shop open in the south where these books were widely owned/sold. MAXX race cards was litterally headquartered within about an hour away from our place, until UpperDeck bought them out mid-1990s. .. Again. this really doesnt matter if you dont know me.. but the stuff that I am sharing is available if you research it. Which I would hope that someone in the business of slabbing comics would do.. Here is the listing from the most current Overstreet Comic Price Guide. For those that dont know.. it's issued once a year since 1969/1970 ?.. this is the 49th edition so somewhere in there. I will be glad to send other information if needed.. I ran a LCS for 20 years, so some of this I experienced first hand.. yeah maybe not the new stuff... I dont expect anyone to take my word for it.. but I tried to give enough information that would allow a company in the business of knowing some stats about the books they are grading/slabbing to look up things and verify what I am saying. Hopefully there's an Overstreet somewhere in the GCG building.. I'd be shocked if there wasnt. I know its hard to think of something like that being printed out in a book form this day and age.. but thank goodness they still print things.. digital comics are darn tough to slab.
  13. Jennifer thanks! I know this is a confusing one, but it is incorrect in the CGC Census. There are 4 different 'variants' of the #1. The one you have as 2nd print.. in the Census with the MAXX Race cards.. is not 2nd print its 3rd. This is kind of the problem Im trying to iron out so i dont have to ship books back and forth to get the right label 1. $1.50 (First print issued first) November 1990 Copyright 2. 2.00 (2nd print, issued within the same month as the one above, does say 1st print inside (ERROR)) November 1990 Copyright 3. 3.00 (3rd print, issued 3rd, includes 4 1990 MAXX Race cards inserted) says 2nd print (ERROR) Jan 1991 Copyright 4. 5.00 Hologram version (This technically is a 4th print, has a hologram of Bill's car on the front) June 1992 Printing (does not say 1st /2nd or 3rd) I get you dont want to redo all of the "2nd print" ones that are out there (which are 3rd prints in actuality..) so I was trying to figure out how to do that but.. its really going to be something your team decides on.. as i get it affects previous slabs.. I'll just hold off on sending anything and maybe we can get this figured out I have several of each and want to get one of all 4 done.. but having 2 say 2nd print and 2 say 1st print is kinda defeating the purpose would like to see the 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and hologram whatever it is.. 4th or 1st either way.
  14. I also have a slab from my last order that came back with the book in backwards.. would like to included that in my next order or something to get it back and have the book flipped around if possible.. what are my options on that?
  15. OK Im trying to figure out how to get a few Legends of Nascar #1's slabbed.. maybe as a test to sell maybe to keep who knows... but CGC has 2 in the census.. and the labels are .. lacking some important info.. I sent a note to CGC but maybe if someone else has some info they can help. ive not seen anything but the 2 in the census but its rare enough to not be on ebay or anywhere else for me to see the labels as they were issued. Id like to have the labels say 1st 2nd 3rd or "test, 1st, 2nd" etc. something that makes an official difference... see my request to CGC below. ------- I have different Legends of Nascar #1's .. I notice that you have 2 different graded in the census.. but have questions based on this: There are 3 different "non-hologram" versions: 1st Print $1.50 cover 2nd print $2.00 cover 3rd Print $3 cover and 4 Maxx Race cards inside. ( I have some of all of these and we bought all of them directly from Vortex Comics as an official Dealer...) so the questions are: 1. Both the 1st Print and 2nd print books have November 1990 in the copyright line inside the book, the 3rd print (that has '2nd print' January 1991 in the copyright line) but the only options for the book in the submission for is 1/91 and 6/92. So if I submit this as a 11/90 version and put in that it is 2nd print, does that show up on the label? and when I submit the $1.50 (11/90) 1st print books will it state 1st print? I guess maybe just let me ask it like this.. can we designate on the labels ? 1st 2nd 3rd print? i know the 2nd print says 1st print and the 3rd print says 2nd print.. (OR the $1.50's were 'test run' and then 1st and 2nd print.. i guess?? ) but it really should show that there are 3 different runs of the book. Thoughts? sorry .. brain isnt allowing me to ask this in a good way.. so please email me with questions.. I can send pictures etc if needed

  17. Though i agree about the registry, i was also talking about submitting books.. I do understand that the label has limited space, its just very hard to submit books that arent 'normal' Will watch for updates to the search feature, I only use CGC for grading books..sometimes it just takes a long time to find books when trying to add them to the order form. Thanks
  18. I have bunches of books that it appears that CGC and I have real differences in how we determine the name of a comic etc.. The Copyright line has Transformers: Generation 2 Halloween Special Edition Vol 1. No. 1. 1993 . So this is listed under Transformers: Generation 2 #NN which to me makes it super hard to find in a search as it 1. has a bigger 'official' name and 2. it has a number so the #NN to me is misleading.. I have other books that are super hard to find.. and or even have graded. all the Free comic book Day books have 10 different ways to look them up.. sometimes they are under the main title.. sometimes they are under FCBD some are under Free Comic Book Day.. If you try and search for the transformer book in the above area.. And you put in Halloween.. it wont come up.. even Transformers Halloween.. I had to go to ebay and search for it and then i saw that its listed as a NN in the Transformers: Generation 2 group. Im not trying to rewrite the dictionary here.. but can we get a .. more robust search engine? IE maybe add the Date and or the "Special notifications" like in this case "Halloween Special Edition" as a possible search field?
  19. IS there ever going to be A Free Comic Book Day set? whether by year or in total? I see some singles here and there.. but ive been collecting them and would love to have them in a set This would not be eligible for a competitive registry set but would look very nice as a custom set which you can create!
  20. Do i need to list everything i know of or is there a way to pull .. that was part of my problem.. some are listed under the title.. and some are under "Free Comic Book Day" and some are under FCBD.. I'll be glad to start making a list.. i think i have 5+ slabbed.. maybe more.. but i know i have a boatload of raw ones.. I responded to this one above on the original inquiry. I addressed the title concern as well. Thank you for your input!
  21. I dont know how to even ask for this.. I dont know most of the books that might be involved, but It would be cool to have a Free Comic Book Day book Set. I can get a bunch of the early ones listed if it helps, let me know if thats even possible to do? Or what I can do to help. I have several done but im sure no where near the 'full list' The challenge in creating a set to include all "Free Comic Book Day" book is the titles and publishers are inconsistent. Some of these featured book titles start with "Free Comic Book Day" followed by the featured comic, for example Free Comic Book Day 2013: Infinity, while others start with "FCBD" like FCBD 2018 - DC Super Hero Girls and some don't have the qualifying "Free Comic Book Day" in the title at all. However, this doesn't mean a set cannot be created but a full list will require time and research. Here's where we can start: Could you provide me with as many certification numbers as you have? I will continue to look into this in the meantime for consideration of how best to proceed.
  22. I have a question about the Free Comic Book Day Books.. is there a set that they go in? IE do they go in their 'Title' set or is there a place any of them exist? If not is it possible to build a 'Free Comic Day Book Set" might be tough to gather all of them but would be cool Also: I have a sketch cover wonderwoman that was done at a convention but it doesnt seem to let me add it to the set. I think it goes to Wonder Woman - 2016 Rebirth set It is #2502890005 Wonder Woman 58 Sketch Edition is available in "Wonder Woman (Rebirth - 2016)"
