  1. You might be onto something. I sell extensively on eBay but rarely sell moderns, the vast majority of my sales are Bronze and Silver books. In over 20 years of transactions I have encountered very, very few problems with slow or no pay, or even buyers remorse returns...probably 1-2% max of all transactions were problem buyers. I consider myself lucky and blessed, but I agree the fact I don't sell many moderns may be a big part of my "luck"
  2. That is absolutely crazy...and there is something going on with the USPS recently. I had one going from Orlando to Chicago that somehow took a detour to...AUSTRALIA! Can't compete with yours but maybe mine wins for farthest diversion?
  3. When I first saw the court filing naming the defendants yesterday (Brandon and Ayana Terrazas), I looked them both up on Social Media out of curiousity. Found 'em...but then both their profiles were deleted later in the day. Probably getting bombarded by lots of angry collectors!
  4. Very cool! Think the .5 grade estimate on the Showcase 22 was harsh...looked more 1.5-ish to me
  5. Hopefully you didn't overpay too much, but we've all done that. I bought a couple of books from him a LONG time ago and while they were overgraded, it certainly wasn't as egregious as I've seen with other big eBay dealers. But the major issue with this fraudster is the rampant, obvious shill-bidding on every single auction. As others have said, he doesn't even attempt to hide it anymore...he's seen that eBay doesn't care (he's been reported dozens of times by me and other boardies)...you can see numerous shill accounts with 100% of their bidding activity on his listings, and dozens...sometimes hundreds...of bid retractions. So while you will certainly receive an overgraded book if you win one of his auctions, you can also be sure the final price has been dramatically over-inflated by his fake-bid partners
  6. eBay isn't perfect, but there's no reason to be worried about scammers. I've been selling comics on eBay for 20+ years and have never, ever been "scammed" by a buyer. Sell long enough and you'll get a few non-paying bidders, or people who return CGC-graded books because "they don't agree with their grade". But those are few and far between...it's still the largest comic book marketplace in the world. Don't worry...enjoy!
  7. Figures Beatlebluecat would be a complete "tool" buyer since, as a seller, he's been the ongoing shill bid king for years...EVERY SINGLE AUCTION he has is shill bid numerous times by accounts that have 100% bidding activity with him and dozens of bid retractions. I, and many others, have reported him numerous times but of course nothing is ever done.
  8. Who pressed this from a 9.6 to a 9.8?! Largest CPR value increase ever?!
  9. The turnaround time clock begins (only business days count) after the package has been opened and it shows up the tracking tool as SCHEDULED FOR GRADING
  10. Completely normal...there is a pretty wide variance in how these inner well seals look. Enjoy!
  11. Looks like a 4.5, could improve with C/P. BUT...what's going on with the lower left where the interior staples have made impressions through the front cover...almost looks like somebody has colored in the staple marks with black marker?
  12. Gotta bump this, I buy on eBay all the time and there are just so many that crack me up. This guy is nomination worthy for both grading AND pricing...he has several listed with hilarious overgrades and astronomical pricing, but this one is my favorite. His grade is comical (VF-), but his price is the real gem: $3500!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/313353359176
  13. @Lightning55 I want to look into this...I have sold a ton of comics on eBay for many, many years and always use their shipping. The eBay commercial discounts offered are pretty substantial. Do you find Pirate Ship rates to be comparable? Is it just an app download?
  14. That back edge kills it. Maybe 8.0 tops with a press...7.5 without
