  6. Good call on the Subby #29! Dali has inspired many a comic artist. In the SA there's these 2 right off the bat... To a lesser extent, but BWS was just starting out I think...
  7. Does anybody have a new guide that they can share the new values of this book? I know it's only a "guide" but I'd be interested to know what it's valued at now. Thanks in advance!
  8. Bumping this pic because it's awesome. Like shooting a snake in the face isn't cool enough, he needed to adda volcano too. Other than this cover and the hippo cover also in this run, are there a lot of other "SHOOT THE ANIMAL IN THE FACE" covers? Could that be a new thread? Hhmmmm........
  9. I love these early Adventure comic covers. I think the 36 is my favorite, but has anyone posted a #39? I was just looking on-line at all the covers and I hadn't recalled seeing that one yet.
  10. I can but dream! last time I was at SDCC 05/06 now its a kaos. I only went once in 2007 (it's a long way from Boston!) and I think that's when they maxed out at 125,000 people for the first time. It was fun, but I doubt I'd ever go back. It just too much of a s#*t-show.
  11. Since I had to spend some $$$ on the car yesterday, I decided to spend some $ on something more fun. Just another one I've been trying to find a decent, affordable copy of for the LB Cole collection:
  12. FYI - I just snagged this book from Taschen: True Crime Detective Magazines http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/popculture/all/42813/facts.true_crime_detective_magazines.htm They are having a sale and I just got this for $20. It arrived yesterday, and while they are really magazines and not pulps the covers (and some interior shots) go back to the 1920's. Some really cool stuff in here! They also have the DC and Marvel books on sale too. Just thought I'd share.
  13. This was my 1st Fiction House book. Couldn't say no to that cover! Love the colors on the copy to the right!!!
  14. Thanks! I love the way Cole drew planes. It can be a bit tough as a GA black cover, but I can't believe I got a #25 & 26 before this one. I don't have a copy of #23, but I do have a cover proof so the #17 is the real goal for me.
  15. Time to bump this thread! Just snagged this one last night. Only 2 more for the LB Cole cover run:
  16. Hot darn man! Killer stuff. Man, Funny Pages really changed it's content huh? Love that #38!
