  1. a tangled web we weave. I can only speculate if it was a flat 5 dollars or 10 dollars it may have been an added handling fee that was previously missed. The invoice with the retroactive ( ~8 dollars) charge in my case was from a March invoice and it was charged last September along with my last submission. But yeah it can throw you for a loop even though these are minimal amounts I always try and get on top of whatever looks weird or out of place on these invoices 🧐🔍
  2. I don't know if this applies to your situation but I received a mystery 5 or 10 dollar charge (can't even remember) on my last submission which was just a reholder. It turns out it was from an old submission several months prior. The UPS shipping cost for the old sub was increased by a nominal amount that wasn't charged on that invoice at the time it was shipped. So to avoid just randomly charging me the extra amount they waited until my next submission. I found this out only by having CS transfer me to accounting because CS doesn't answer accounting questions. I tried emailing but I knew whenever I email the accounting department the responses are spotty. Probably understaffed? Anyone else getting a weird extra charge on their invoice it may have something to do with added shipping cost. So there's my little CGC CS rant. Most of the time the CS people are very courteous and helpful.
  3. Those picture frames are frustratingly tough to find above 9.4. And finding them in good wraps is a whole other matter.
  4. Yeah it looks like it. I haven't seen the graders notes though. There's a tiny amount of white to the right of the main pull area. Meh no big deal. The flash from the camera makes it look more noteworthy than it is in hand. The back cover is bright. The wrap is ideal, I like the color depth and I'm really into PQ. Funny 3 - 4 years ago I was aiming at a 9.4 before the prices got on rocket fuel
  5. Ring a ding ding...the postman cometh...and It finally happens
  6. Congratulations to both buyer and seller. Wow!
  7. Yeah definitely agree with all this except for Goblins face. Taskmaster and Chameleon was kind of shaky but I think his Goblin face was pitch perfect. His style worked brilliantly with Goblin, Mysterio, Cap, X-men, Conan (except the face) most others. I think maybe when it came to Hulk it became too exaggerated too over the top. His Morbius was not so great either. Anyway Trimpe had perfected Hulk in the mid and late 70's establishing a house style -- so then Mcfarlane's rendition was like a shock to the senses lol. And for the record you did correct 327 was Larsen even though Larsen did his best to blur the line. 326 was another non Mcfarlane thrown in there.
  8. Hmnn Interesing. Always thought of it ending in 1991.
  9. It's a really cool sleek signature that's for sure. But I guess there's always that seed of doubt with that little nugget of information. I didn't know he scoffed at signing front covers. Curious if you know up to what point was he autographing? 1980s?
  10. Forget it man you just blew open Pandora's box 🤣 ...just kidding. I wouldn't trust anything unverified either but now especially Kirby.
  11. That 4800 Mcfarlane only yellow was the last sale and it was this month. It's way above all the priors by a mile. The last Stan, Mcfarlane yellow of 7k was the last sale and it was equally a mile above all priors. Safe to say this tide will substantially lift all these boats.
  12. You referring to TM yellow label 9.8? Where have you seen those numbers? If things get too out of control next year there's more 9.6 yellow Mcfarlanes and 9.6 yellows might be more coveted anyway for a 33 year old book. Yours appears to be in solid shape. It looks like there may be some surface dirt on the corner price box. I think I might consider submitting that for a press and grade.
  13. Yeah thanks man. I've had that one for some time. This Goblin cover and Showcase 22 are my favorite Kane covers. And pretty much all his Ghost Rider covers are close second. I'm just reposting a couple of these in light of some good action these high grade bronze have been seeing at auction. Some really substantial run ups in top grades for major titles this year. Certified comics are looking great these days!
  14. There's a certain charm in seeing well loved books like that. I'm so jaded from certified copies it makes these more interesting in a way. If they looked like that in the mid 70's they had some rough going in just a handful of years lol!
  15. its like...Hey check out this "9.9" mirror I'm holding! Look at it! Isn't it just dazzling?
  16. Yeah that was on July 2nd. Some people have all the luck!
  17. Looking at GPA it was mostly flat all of last year at ~2k or hair above for 9.8. So that's where 2020 started until sometime around the summer when the uptick really started going. At this point it appears 4k is the 90 day average. The last 2 sales were a tad under 4k but there was a streak of sales before those of 5k or just under. So yeah I'd say this is one hell of a run up for 9.8
  18. Kane and Adams are my favorite cover artists ever. Guaranteed aces!
  19. Yeah I think it'll be a huge positive for the hobby if Clink decided to contribute to GPA. Their refusal to do so is selfish! You can only see past sales on Clink going back several months before they cycle off. There's so many examples of them having record sales for any given book only to have these data points not show up where it matters most.
  20. I've reached out to them once about a listing through Ebay and they did respond. It was years ago however. I suspect they may be operating with minimal staff these days for obvious reasons so Ebay inquiries might be taking a back seat. Maybe calling them would be preferable.
