One thing I missed before buying this is the fact that it's in one of those slabs without an inner well. Thank goodness it avoided damage like a cover detachment during the ship. Whomever thought this slab design was a good idea should have their head examined The answer for the OP is cover B. Gil Kane is simply the GOAT!!!

You're probably closer to being right. I like to be optimistic . They hammer that kind of permeating stain. Even at that lower grade it's still more than worth it. Who knows, few years from now he can sell it for way more than whatever he ends up dishing out after grading.

I'll guess between 8.5 & 9.2 after pressing. The graders will hammer that stain on the corner. Nonetheless it's a gem book on the move!!

ASM 300 Appreciation/ Club Thread

Mostly from what I've seen, the major difference bt a 96 & 98 other than corner or edge defects that are more visible are finite color breaking stress marks on the spine. But thing is that you can only spot these defects with a flash light & only at a certain angle. A magnifying glass would help. Yes it's definitely whacked out! -

What was the grade on the 400 dollar copy you got? NM/M? -
Curious if anyone knows what factors determine whether CGC graders provide graders notes or not on 9.6 books in particular. For example would the graders of a 9.6 book that's very close to a 9.8 not provide notes? Would a 9.6 that maybe has more defects more likely to have grader notes? I've noticed with higher graded books that it's a toss up as to whether notes are available or not. Thanks in advance to anyone that responds

44 is definitely the best MT cover imo! I think it's a tie between 50 & ASM 67. I'd love to find a high graded 44 at some point. Won't be CGC since there's only one 9.6 & one 9.0. I'll probably just find a raw & send it out.

Seems so but 9.4s usually have at least a couple of small hairline stress marks on the spine that you'll never see even with a good scan. I remember having a 9.4 & didn't even notice anything on the spine till I looked it over with a flash light. Then again there could be writing on the back?

I'm pretty sure you didn't but it kind of sounded like you just dropped the ASM 129 slab on the floor behind you at the end there

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
MGsimba77 replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
This auction ended at 11:30 pm est last night for some bizarre reason ? Despite ending at such a weird time it's the second highest 129 9.6 sold this year per GPA. Not even a white! https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-129-cgc-9-6-1st-Punisher-Stan-Lee-Avengers-Key-Hulk-181-/282910357956 -
But why? There's plenty of room at the bottom. You could place it between torch's trail flame & thing's left arm

Incredible Hulk #181 - is it *that* red-hot?

Not sure where they'll find a 9.4 with corners that sharp? "Better looking" is in the eye of the beholder -

I missed the waviness on the back bottom edge but still not sure that's enough?
