  1. The camera isn’t creating an optical illusion - the white area along the spine is really missing the black of the cover. I agree this book would probably be around 8.5. The front is pretty cleaned, just the spine with the missing black ink. Thanks for your input. I’ll keep as is then.
  2. I have McFarlane Spider-Man 1 Platinum CBCS 9.2 that I’m considering sending to CGC to get his signature on, but I’m unsure if/how the grade would be effected. It’s a CBCS 9.2, but the imperfections to the spine on the back black cover might knock it down a grade or two imo. The book is kinda wavy too that could benefit from a press as well. Thoughts? TIA!
  3. Recently received back a Prophet # 1 McFarlane/Churchill cover. When packaging, I had the McFarlane cover up in the bag and board. They encapsulate it with the Churchill cover in front anyways. Anyone have this issue? Contacted CS but they say to send it back and get it reslap at my own expense.
  4. I’m surprised they don’t take the writing into consideration for the grade, or at least has a decent impact on the grade. Graders notes didn’t even mention it. I’m definitely happy with the grade Thanks for all your input!
  5. No pressing. I’ll upload some photos once it comes back. Curious what the grade would be without the “14” written on the cover? Also it got white pages.
  6. Just want to update the thread. Got a 6.5 Universal grade.
  7. A clean will probably benefit this book more. Thanks everyone for your input.
  8. I prefer the blue label. Seems that’s what this book will get based on everyone’s comment. I didn’t know we can request green/blue label? I thought that was entirely up to CGC based on the condition of the book?
  9. Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I’ll definitely send this book in to get graded. Wondering if I should get it pressed and cleaned? Regardless I’ll update this thread once I get it back to let you know how it did. Appreciate all your input!
  10. Thanks for the response. I’m no expert and thought it’d be around a 6.0 as well just by looking at other same graded books, just wasn’t sure if it’ll be a green or blue label. I guess a green label would be missing something like the MVS or pages, therefore making it incomplete. Also curious, how does writing like this effect the grade in general? A full grade reduction? Thanks again for your input.
  11. Hello. I’m new to this and have a question regarding Incredible Hulk 181 I won in auction. it has a “14” written in the cover and circled. Otherwise the book is in great condition. question is will this get a green label or blue? The stamp is in tact. Also any guess on the grade? Thank you in advance.
  12. I'm also contemplating going to Dallas Fan Expo tomorrow. I really want to drop off a bunch of books I have for grading, but every time I look at the pricing structure and tiers, its so confusing to me. I'm not a member but considering joining the premium membership (which says I get $150 credit), but then the tire pricing confuses me. I guess I could just ask them there, but figures I inquire here first. Thanks!
