  1. That is so cool...I'm not even sure what I'm looking at...but, it's great. @The Lions Den has pointed out, CT usually serves some nefarious purpose of concealing a defect(s). Generally, if along the spine, it's a CB tick(s) or if on the wrap, small inconspicuous defect(s). If amateur, it is usually very obvious. If professional, much harder to detect. CgC has noted "pen" marks on wraps that they deem accidental in nature, or writing and not what they would consider marks for the purposes of restoration/concealment. Also, books of this vintage were manufactured when the printing process resulted in a fair amount of color offset, misaligned wraps, poor cuts, etc., thereby resulting in much variation in appearance from copy to copy.
  2. Distilled to the most basic essence...I think we may be spending too much time around here
  3. It should receive a Qualified Label, grade as if the page was intact and a notation will be placed on the label regarding the torn out ad and the affect on the story
  4. Appears normal to me for a book of this vintage. A beauty for sure
  5. does it bleed through the paper to the other side?
  6. 5.5 as is...too much going on with the back cover to hit 6.0? Definitely blue label
  7. The color rub on the back cover is also a defect that will likely cap the book at 9.4
  8. 9.2 as is some minor creases along the top edge fc and corner crease ul bc...minor spine tick Likely C&P higher to 9.4
